Chapter 3 - Cassie's POV.

The day before I left for the hospital, I felt a strange sensation in me. It was so strong that I almost wanted to call Emily, but it died down after a few minutes, and I did not feel anything anymore. I thought maybe it was a food reaction or some kind of chemical reaction in the body. It felt strange because I had never felt something like that before, but then I was a person, and hormones change sometimes.

I did not mention it to Emily when I arrived at the hospital. I kept silent about it all through the moment that we prepared for the test until the test was finally done and I was asked to wait for a few minutes to get the results.

I walked myself to the waiting room and sat there hoping that my nightmare does not come to reality. I had never really met a wolf before, and my first chance meeting one, he was so terrible.

After about 30 minutes, a nurse walked up to me and informed me that Dr Emily would want to see me in her office.

Of course I knew that the test results were out, and my heartbeatimmediately increased. It was beating so rapidly that I could hardly breathe. I nodded my head slowly and sat still.

I was going to sit down there and wait for a while because I could not walk into her office with the way I was feeling. The anxiety had so much hold on me, and I could not let go.

However, a few minutes later I stood slowly and began to walk towards Emily's office. As I opened the door and entered into the office, I was shocked to see that the alpha wolf was already seated inside.

"What is he doing here?" I asked Emily immediately after I closedthe door behind me. The sight of Him alone terrified me, and I wondered why she was going to let him come into her office at the same time that she was inviting me.

"Cassie, please take a seat. I believe we will be able to fix this. We just need to come up with a solution; no one needs to get hurt." She spoke to me, but I could not grasp a word of what she was saying.

"Is Emily's test result out because that is the only reason I am still standing here?" I asked fiercely.

"That is exactly what I am talking about, Cassie. The result is out and..." She suddenly stopped talking, staring at me with what looked like pity in her eyes.

"Say it," I demanded. Even though a part of me already knew what she was going to say. I was hoping desperately that she was going to say something different. Either way I was screwed, but I wanted otherwise.

"You have conceived, and it is already growing. The birth cycle of a wolf child is quite different from a human; it's very rapid, and it's already experiencing some growth." She said to me, and with the manner in which she was explaining, I knew that it was not just about the fact that I had conceived; something else was wrong.

"What are you trying to say, Emily?" I asked, staring at her with a blank look on my face. The only thing that I was sure about was that my eyes were clouded with tears, and they were going to fall down my chin at any moment.

"What I am trying to say, Cassie, is that Plan B might not be possible anymore. I mean, it is going to be risking your life, and Mr Donald Valdosta here seems to be very much against it," she finally said to me.

It was at that moment that my gaze shifted from her to Donald, who was sitting there staring at me. I was sure that he was mocking me because with that stern look, he surely did not have anything good in mind.

"What the hell are you staring at?" I demanded, and this time I could feel the tears rolling down my chin.

"Look, Miss Cassandra, we could come to an agreement. I never believed you were going to conceive at first, and now that you have, it is impossible to terminate it. "The only thing we can do is come to a legal agreement," he said to me, and I wondered what such agreements could be.

In a matter of days I had moved from desperately hating on wolves to having a wolf child in my belly. I felt like my life was going to end.

"My name is Cassie! And what could this agreement be? I do not want to have anything to do with any wolf," I made it clear to him.

"And now that you cannot terminate it? "Tell me, what are your plans?" He asked.

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words were coming out of it. At that moment I could only wish that things had gone my own way. I was going to be the happiest person in the world if I was able to conceive my own human child and be happy. I did not need anyone else in my life; I just wanted to have my child and not be alone anymore.

"I can't stand this; I'm leaving," I said and turned around to leave when his words stopped me.

"I want you to be my surrogate mate. It is impossible for a human to conceive a wolf, but now that you have, I want to believe it is a favour. You will only have to give birth to the child, and I'll leave you alone. As long as you still have the child in you, I promise you that you cannot escape me," he said to me.

"Are you threatening me... again?" I asked as I turned around sharply to face him. At that moment he stood up and began to walk towards me.

I was frozen at the spot until he came closer and whispered into my ear.

"Do you want to dare me...?"
