Chapter 110 - Chapter 110: Identity Exposed

The familiar name now looked painfully glaring. With this revelation, everything finally made sense. Fugaku clenched his teeth tightly, once again recalling that echoing laughter from the Maximum-Security Wing. His heart gnawed by invisible torment, wild thoughts surged through his mind. Blood flowed from his three-tomoe Sharingan, dripping onto the name Uchiha Anya, making it shockingly vivid.

After a long while, Fugaku closed the Genealogy Records, and the secret chamber plunged into darkness.

Back home, Mikoto gazed lovingly at the sleeping infant in the crib. Hearing approaching footsteps, she turned around with a smile and walked forward to greet.

Having just emerged from the chamber, Fugaku merely gave her a cold glance before bluntly saying, "Come with me."

Puzzled by his coldness, Mikoto followed him.

Upon entering a small room, Fugaku directly confronted her. "Why wasn't I able to find you just now? Where were you?"

Caught off guard, Mikoto felt slightly nervous. After all, she had sneaked out while the child was asleep. She hesitated, trying to figure out how to explain.

Fugaku, angered by his wife's silence, unconsciously activated his crimson Sharingan. He sneered coldly, "What's wrong? Don't tell me you've secretly gone out to meet your lover."

Stunned, Mikoto's eyes widened as she stared at Fugaku, hardly believing he would say such a thing.

"The Maximum-Security Wing, right?" Fugaku continued with a smirk. "Truly a deep connection. You two seemed to be having such a cheerful conversation there."

Understanding dawned on Mikoto—her husband had clearly misunderstood. She opened her mouth to explain, "Fugaku, it's not what you think. He is..."

But she suddenly stopped. She remembered Anya's request and found herself caught between a rock and a hard place.

"Go ahead, why'd you stop?" Fugaku interrupted. "Since you've got nothing to say, let me continue." He pulled out the genealogy book and read each word deliberately, "Uchiha Anya. Died at age eleven. Who reported it? Shall I go on?"

Mikoto never imagined that one secret meeting of hers would reveal Anya's truth so dramatically. At this moment, a sense of relief washed over her. Perhaps this wasn't so bad. If she could just explain everything to her husband, maybe Anya could finally return to the family.

But when she looked at Fugaku again, she noticed his three-tomoe Sharingan had somehow transformed. Now it resembled a triangular pattern, its design filled with delicate dots arranged like flower stamens. The sheer power in his eyes overwhelmed her with shock and fear, leaving her unable to utter a single word.

Realizing his gaze had frightened her, Fugaku felt a pang of guilt and turned away, saying, "Since this clan member has returned after being away, as the clan head, I should pay him a visit. For now, don't leave the house without my permission."

Now completely misunderstanding the situation, Mikoto quickly tried to follow him out, but two Uchiha guards stepped in from outside, closing the door and blocking her path.

What should she do? Mikoto's heart tightened. Their first meeting had ended bitterly, nearly turning into a fight to the death. This time, she feared, would be even harder to resolve peacefully.

At that moment, Anya had no clue danger was already closing in. After a hearty meal, he headed back to the lab. After all, wasting time locked up was nowhere near as fun as keeping Oro busy with experiments.

But just as they started making progress, Orochimaru's brow furrowed. "Anya, looks like today won't be peaceful after all."

Anya shot back with a smirk, "Uncle, what's up? Let me guess—you've brought another visitor for me?"

Orochimaru gave him a half-smile without a word.

Seeing Orochimaru's expression, Anya's face changed instantly. Could it actually be true? What was it about today? One after another—why not just show up all at once? Without thinking further, he hastily messed up his appearance and rushed toward the secret tunnel.

Just as he switched places with his clone, the door opened. Standing there unexpectedly was Fugaku Uchiha.

What was he doing here? Anya felt puzzled but merely glanced at him without speaking.

Fugaku strode into the maximum-security wing with overwhelming presence, asking in a condescending tone, "Should I call you Anya, or should I say Uchiha Anya?"

At that name, Anya's gaze turned sharp. Yet he didn't question how Fugaku found out—since he had come this far, he must have confirmed everything already. So he snapped back, "What does that have to do with you?"

Fugaku sneered, "I'm the head of the Uchiha Clan. What do you think?"

He's the clan leader… A realization suddenly hit Anya like a lightning bolt. If that were the case, then Mikoto's older sister had married into the Uchiha clan as the clan leader's wife. Damn it. That name Fugaku did sound familiar. He should've taken him down the first time they met. Rescuing an ordinary Uchiha clan member was one thing—but saving the clan leader's wife was an entirely different level of challenge.

A heavy killing intent emanated from Anya.

Fugaku naturally sensed it, yet remained indifferent. "What? Want to kill me? Just because you're a prisoner whose powers are sealed?"

Now that things had come to this point, regret was useless. Anya let his killing intent fade and said coolly, "You didn't come all this way just to waste my time, did you?"

"Of course not." At some point, Fugaku's Sharingan had shifted—his Mangekyo Sharingan was already active. With immense ocular power, he locked eyes with Anya and declared, "I want to know everything that happened between you and Mikoto."

As those words left his mouth, fragments of memories with Mikoto's older sister flashed through Anya's mind like slides, then drifted away under that gaze.

This is…

Though it had been over half a year since his last fight, Anya's instincts remained razor-sharp. He immediately realized he had fallen into an extremely advanced genjutsu. Without hesitation, his original black eyes transformed directly into the Mangekyo Sharingan with three-bladed patterns.

The two [Eye Powers] clashed midair, sending visible sparks flying. Those memories froze in place.

Fugaku's left eye bled after losing the clash of ocular powers. His body instinctively stepped back twice, staring at Anya in disbelief. "Mangekyo Sharingan? You've awakened it too? How is that even possible?"

"Just Mangekyo Sharingan? What's so hard about awakening it?" Anya would never forget the agonizing pain when he unlocked his Mangekyo. If given the chance, he'd even trade both eyes to bring his teacher back. Unfortunately, there are no second chances in life.

Anya had studied the abilities granted by the Mangekyo. They seemed to be tied to the strongest thought or desire in one's heart at the moment of awakening.

Therefore, Anya asked in puzzlement, "Your Mangekyo ability is actually mind-reading? How bad do you wanna know what happened between me and Mikoto?"

After saying this, Anya suddenly realized something and asked suspiciously, "You don't think I cheated on you, do you?"
