Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Forced Studies

Sarutobi hesitated for a moment, then suddenly fixed his gaze on Anya, who was hiding behind others. He called out loudly, "Anya, what do you think? How about Tsunade's opinion?"

Anya, being called upon, felt a jolt in her heart. What's wrong with this old man today? It feels like he's targeting me constantly.

What opinion could I possibly have? Of course I'll follow the leader's stance.

Just as she was about to speak, she suddenly noticed Tsunade's sharp, murderous glare directed at her. Instantly recalling that she still had some incriminating evidence in Tsunade's hands, Anya forcefully changed what she was about to say at the last moment: "Uh, I think Tsunade-sama is absolutely right. I support her suggestion—cultivating Medical Ninjas cannot wait."

"Oh? Is that so?" Sarutobi murmured with surprise, then asked with growing interest, "Could you elaborate on what specifically made you think this way?"

This old guy… looks like I've got no choice but to explain. Sighing helplessly, Anya began expressing her true thoughts: "War always boils down to three things: intel, people, and resources. Konoha already has someone like Tsunade-sama, an incredible Medical Ninja. That alone has already shaken up the balance of the Ninja World. Because when we fight opponents of the same strength, our losses would be way less than theirs. But in the long run, that advantage fades as the cost adds up. So I came up with two solutions: first, keep Tsunade-sama off the battlefield more often; second, back up that idea by having Tsunade train more Medical Ninjas and build a strong, full-scale medical system. Even if Tsunade suddenly bites the dust one day…"

Anya became more confident in her speech—just then, however, a powerful killing intent suddenly swept over her.

This murderous aura immediately snapped Anya back to awareness. Dammit, what the hell am I saying? Why did I just spill my real thoughts?!

"Cough cough…" A prolonged cough interrupted Anya mid-sentence—it was Jiraiya. His hands tightly gripped Tsunade while continuously giving urgent signals to Sarutobi.

Sarutobi instantly understood. He quickly said, "Well then, all your opinions are highly constructive. I will seriously consider them later. That's all for today—dismissed!"

After speaking, Sarutobi immediately left, followed closely by Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado from behind. Clearly, even the three of them feared the furious Tsunade.

They left behind a group of ninjas who looked eager for more, secretly sighing to themselves—today's meeting had really been something else…

Suddenly, a chill ran down everyone's spine. The air had turned icy—Tsunade's rage was still lingering. They quickly forced out a few awkward laughs: "We should get going too."

"Yeah, yeah, let's go, let's go."

In no time, the gathered ninjas had scattered completely, leaving only Anya and the Sannin behind.

Orochimaru was the first to chuckle, saying with amusement, "What an interesting brat. You're the first one bold enough to say that about Tsunade. Konoha hasn't seen anyone quite like you in a long time."

"Uh, I was just rambling nonsense. I'll take my leave now," Anya decided it was best to escape immediately.

Then, Tsunade kicked Jiraiya aside and stormed toward Anya, her eyes burning with rage. With a sudden slap onto the table—

Bang! The table exploded into pieces.

"Kid, where do you think you're going?"

After slamming the table, Tsunade grabbed Anya by the collar with one hand, lifting him up like a little cat.

Anya dared not provoke an angry Tsunade and replied helplessly, "I was just helping you speak earlier!"

Tsunade laughed bitterly, her voice thick with sarcasm. "Oh really? Then I guess I should thank you properly."

So saying, she marched straight toward the hospital with Anya in tow.

Jiraiya stepped forward with a look of unease and asked, "Do you think he'll be okay?"

Orochimaru responded calmly, "What could happen? Tsunade won't kill him."

"That's true. It might even be good for someone to be around Tsunade to help her vent some emotions," Jiraiya agreed.

The sight of Tsunade dragging Anya caused quite a stir among the hospital staff. Anya wanted nothing more than to cover his face, hating being paraded around like some kind of spectacle. Great—just when he thought he could remain an invisible nobody, this incident would probably make every ninja in the village aware of his existence. The only fortunate thing was that his identity as a member of the House of Uchiha hadn't been exposed yet.

But when had The Third noticed him? This time, it was obvious Sarutobi used the meeting as an excuse to push him into the spotlight. Why? What did he do to attract the old man's attention? This left Anya puzzled and slightly uneasy.

Tsunade shoved Anya in front of a patient and coldly said, "You said you wanted to seriously dive into Medical Ninjutsu? Fine then—you start right here. Watch carefully, or else you'll feel my fists."

Anya naturally held great admiration for Tsunade's Medical Ninjutsu. Although her temper was bad, that was a common trait among those with exceptional abilities—he could understand it. Since she was willing to teach, he was naturally eager to learn.

Originally, Tsunade had planned to pick a fight and beat up this sly little brat, but as the teaching progressed, she couldn't find any reason to scold him. No matter how she explained chakra nature transformations or pointed out how Medical Ninjutsu differed from traditional techniques, he grasped them instantly. Within a short time, he had already become helpful.

This learning pace was nothing short of miraculous for a medical ninja—the kid was actually a genius.

Anya manipulated his green chakra, forming a small scalpel in his hand. As he refined the chakra, the tiny surgical blade became sharp, slender, and precise enough to remove foreign objects from beneath the skin before the patient even felt pain. It was extremely effective. Learning from medical ninjas allowed Anya to deepen his understanding of human anatomy.

Especially regarding bones and meridians—how they connected to specific areas of the brain, which points when severed could instantly immobilize someone. It seemed mastering Medical Ninjutsu would also require a long-term commitment.

Watching this, Tsunade calmed herself and seriously looked at Anya. "Have you ever considered switching careers—to become a medical ninja?"

While treating the injured, Anya casually replied, "Either works for me. It all depends on whether my mentor is willing to let me go."

"To be honest, if possible, he'd rather just stay at the infirmary, study Medical Ninjutsu, mess around a bit, and heal people here and there. It's much safer, isn't it? Then after the war ends, he could head out again and get stronger. But White Fang would never go for that.

Tsunade understood that too. Once White Fang forged a blade, he wouldn't let it gather dust in a hospital. Anya's talent did tempt her slightly.

"You're not going anywhere these few days. You'll stay right here and study." Since she had a genius student on her hands, Tsunade decided to go full-on boot camp — she'd put him through the wringer these next few days."
