Anya knew that Killer Bee's swordsmanship was formidable and highly unpredictable. Therefore, she launched an aggressive attack without hesitation as soon as they engaged, aiming for all his vital points.
At the same time, Anya wielded her blade at extremely sharp angles, striking from unexpected directions. Soon, the two were leaping and clashing furiously.
Realizing that matching speed against speed brought no advantage, Anya switched to a reverse grip and attacked again.
This time, her style was entirely new—distinctly different from any sword techniques she had learned before. She slowed her pace; her movements weren't fast, yet each strike firmly suppressed all six of Killer Bee's swords. Her actions were graceful, fluid, and rhythmically precise, making Killer Bee feel as though he were hitting a bundle of cotton—powerless and ineffective.
"Hey, idiot! Bastard! Your sword technique is pretty good!" Killer Bee exclaimed mid-fight. Suddenly, he leaped backward, using various joints across his body to trap her blade strikes. He then declared, "Let the dance begin—dance like a butterfly in flight!"
The six swords coordinated seamlessly with every muscle in Killer Bee's body, rushing forward like a hurricane. Wherever the blades pointed, Anya felt an overwhelming sense of unavoidable danger—until suddenly, realization struck her mind.
That's it! This is exactly the moment—the spark of enlightenment!
Faced with mortal danger, she steeled herself, drawing in a deep breath before holding her sword steady at chest level. It appeared to be a simple horizontal slash, but within lay infinite variations. The sword followed her intent, the will merging with the blade, uniting human and steel into one—an absence of self and weapon.
"Clang!"
Sparks flew. Though wielding only one sword, Anya seemed to strike as if thousands of blades erupted at once. Carried by the force, her entire body moved with the blade, spinning rapidly. A powerful spiral aura instantly formed, knocking away all six of Killer Bee's swords in a single blow—[Single Blade Strike], divine in its perfection.
Disarmed, Killer Bee had a blade pressed against his throat. One slight motion, and her blade would end his life then and there.
Anya held back the urge to kill—for the moment her blade deflected his, a wave of deadly danger surged through her. So, smirking slightly, she withdrew the sword and offered it back to him with both hands, saying, "Thank you, Teacher Killer Bee. Today's match was exhilarating."
Killer Bee hesitated for a few seconds but didn't take the blade right away. Instead, he pulled out some paper and a pen and started writing something down feverishly, muttering to himself as if struck by sudden inspiration.
Unperturbed, Anya waited patiently for him to finish.
In truth, this battle had nearly cost her everything. Had she not studied Killer Bee's sword techniques beforehand and borrowed one of his blades—introducing even a slight flaw in his usual combo—she might not have won based purely on her own skills. Evidently, the ninja world teemed with experts. No one should ever be taken lightly.
After finishing, Killer Bee read through his notes with satisfaction. Then he finally accepted the blade Anya offered, fixing her with a steady gaze behind his sunglasses as he asked, "What's the name of that last strike?"
Anya replied, "[Single Blade Strike] just came to me during the fight. It doesn't have a name yet."
"Yo, excellent."
Killer Bee chuckled. "I just came up with a name—Dance of the Blade. How's that? It's kind of like a swarm of bees dancing."
"Sounds good," Anya agreed immediately.
The more time Killer Bee spent with Anya, the more he took a liking to him. He invited, "How about you come over to my place for a bit?"
Anya thought for a moment and declined, "I think I'll pass. Our fight was too intense. I'm exhausted and want to return to school to rest."
"Alright then," Killer Bee said with slight disappointment before walking away.
Shortly after he left, Kakuzu emerged from the shadows, looking at Anya with obvious surprise. "Didn't expect your swordsmanship to be so good. Seems like I underestimated you before."
Anya smiled slightly. "You flatter me, Uncle."
Kakuzu glanced in the direction Killer Bee had left. "Is that the target you found for me?"
Anya replied uncertainly, "Among students at the Ninja Academy, he's definitely one many remember most clearly. But since he didn't use Lightning Release just now, I'm not sure if he's suitable for your needs."
"This matter should be handled sooner rather than later. I'll observe him carefully. If there's an opportunity, I'll strike." Kakuzu then followed the same path.
Such an impulsive guy, Anya actually wanted to stop him. Just moments ago, he sensed an extremely dangerous aura from Killer Bee. Though even if he spoke up, Kakuzu probably wouldn't believe him anyway.
Back at school, several girls quickly approached. "Yunbai, where did you go just now? We couldn't find you anywhere."
Anya half-seriously, half-jokingly replied, "Oh, Killer Bee-sensei's sword techniques were just too amazing, so I chased after him hoping he'd teach me again."
One girl whispered secretly, "Yunbai, someone from my family told me to stay away from him. They say there's a terrifying monster sealed inside Killer Bee-sensei."
Anya chuckled, "How could a human possibly hide a monster inside his body? Probably your family just wants to scare you into behaving..."
But suddenly, realization struck him—wait, monsters could actually be sealed inside humans! He'd already seen several himself: two on the Tsuchikage battlefield, and another at Takigakure Village. Could it be that Killer Bee also harbors a Tailed Beast?
At this thought, Anya suddenly understood the earlier threat he'd sensed—it must have been the Tailed Beast within Killer Bee warning him because it felt danger approaching.
Oh crap! Kakuzu won't hold back. Although Kakuzu should be capable of handling ordinary Tailed Beasts, the commotion would obviously be huge. How many tails does the beast inside Killer Bee have? Right, wasn't there ready-made information here?
As expected, after Anya finished speaking, another girl said, "This isn't just trying to scare us. My father is also a ninja—he once witnessed that monster firsthand. He said it's enormous with an ox head, extremely wild-tempered. Only after Raikage broke one of its horns did it finally calm down."
Ox head, broken horn—it's Eight-Tails, second only to Nine-Tails among all the Tailed Beasts. Anya instantly realized the truth. Damn it! Killer Bee is the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki. And judging from the situation, his relationship with Eight-Tails must be quite good, or else Eight-Tails wouldn't have issued a warning toward him.
Right now, Anya felt a headache coming on. Looks like this hunting plan will probably fail. If Kakuzu truly attacks, he himself might get implicated too. He needed to find a way to sneak off.
With that thought, Anya suddenly grabbed her stomach and said, "Oops, I ate way too much on the way here. My stomach's acting up now. I've got to go to the bathroom."
A few girls kindly stepped aside for Anya. "Go on then."
"Thank you guys."
Anya flashed them a bright smile, then quickly followed the path Kakuzu had taken. Right now, she could only hope he hadn't made a move yet.
