before i start this chapter, i will inform you that somewhere later in this chapter some inspiration has been taken from the famous anime "Kill La Kill" an anime known to be ahead of its time with it's animation and story, you can watch it on Hulu/Crunchyroll, now on to the story
Sam and Elisa make their way back to Eryndor's House and just so happen to walk in on him and Kaede having a training session
Eryndor: "gee! an 8.7 punch force already! you'll get to that full 10.0 in no time!"
Eryndor notices that the two have arrived and entered the house
Eryndor: "ah! you guys have made it! sit down, i'll grab you two a snack!"
Sam: "sorry, i don't really feel like snacking right now… just thinking about what the truth could be has got me bloating from a mix of anxiety and curiosity… please tell me what it is!"
Eryndor looks at Elisa, then back at Sam then his demeanor shifts to a more serious one
Eryndor: "then.. won't you take a seat…?"
the three sit down as Eryndor starts explaining after a few seconds of silence
Eryndor: "it all started on the day you were born…"
(FLASHBACK)
the cry of a newborn baby could be heard through the entire room
Lila: "isn't he beautiful, Eryndor?"
Eryndor: "sure is! i never thought i'd be this happy in my entire life~"
Lila: "what should we name him? we haven't come up with a name yet…"
Eryndor: "i've already been thinking of one, and i think you'll quite like it!"
the baby started to calm down and the room was filled with a warm feeling of life
Eryndor: "Samuel, Samuel Hart"
Lila: "i like the name, but it's a bit long… maybe we can shorten it down to… Sam? Samuel Hart will be his full legal name"
Eryndor: "great idea~ Sam it is then!~"
Sam: "but wait… i don't get it, nothing seems to be wrong… what's the twist?"
Eryndor: "well, you see son… no baby is born with the ability to use magic… but all are born with a certain level of mana.. and, well… let me continue…"
but soon, the baby Sam started having a Seizure
Lila: "what?! what's happening to our boy?!"
Nurse: "he's having a seizure… i feared this would happen…"
Lila: "why?! what do you mean?!"
the nurse spoke a message to her co-workers
Nurse: "guys we got a code 61, the mana has reached an unstable quantity, we need to remove excess!"
the baby was soon taken away to another room and placed in a chamber after the seizure had stopped momentarily, Eryndor followed.
Eryndor: "what are you going to do to our boy?"
Nurse: "we're going to decrease his mana level to stabilize his condition"
Eryndor sighed and pleaded
Eryndor: "please make sure he doesn't get hurt…"
the chamber activates, but one of the doctors accidentally flipped the lever all the way into the red zone after bumping into it, after which baby Sam's mana got rapidly depleted. once Eryndor noticed, it was already too late
Eryndor: "hey! what's going on?! i thought you said his mana will only be decreased! not laid dry!"
Nurse: "i- i don't know why this is happening! it shouldn't be doing this!"
Eryndor: "reverse it! please! i can't have my son be magicless! don't you know what they'll do to him at school one day?! or when he'll search for a job when he's an adult?! he won't be accepted by society like this!"
Nurse: "i wish we could, but this machine can't reverse the process, and mana infusion is very expensive…"
and soon enough, the baby Sam stopped moving, completely exhausted by the process. Later, Eryndor comes back to the birthing room that his wife was in, entering with tears in his eyes.
Eryndor: "there has been… an accident… a mistake has been made which caused him to lose all his mana"
Lila was silent for a while, before speaking with a trembling voice
Lila: "b- but… without mana… you can't practice magic… h- he's gonna be an outcast!"
once they got home, they laid Sam in a crib. They walked downstairs and argued, Lila blaming Eryndor for the incident. After a long fight, Lila reached her judgement
Lila: "maybe.. it's best you get your stuff and leave…"
Sam: "so… i was never really born without magic… i was just… drained of it… has mom been.. lying to me…?"
Eryndor: "if she told you a different story than i just did, she has indeed been-"
Sam: "THAT BITCH OF A MOM!! MISTREATING ME ALL THOSE YEARS BECAUSE OF WHAT?! AN ACCIDENT?! AND WHY WERE YOU BLAMED FOR IT?! YOU COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!"
Eryndor: "calm down Sam… your mother still loved you.. she just acted like that to express her anger, but she never meant it personally…"
Sam: "as if you'd know… you've been absent my entire life! well.. not like you could do much about it… my little brother has been so mean to me too… but that's probably because he's adopted, ha! no seriously.. found out a while ago"
Eryndor: "what's important is that you've got new magic! you can do good things for people now! i've heard that you aced saving that town today!"
Sam: "yeah.. you're right! i learned a new move today! and it's all thanks to Zero..~"
Elisa: "and get this! i heard that in rare cases, contact with a Seishin can restore bits of independent mana, due to the Seishin's magical properties…"
Sam: "and through that you can practice magic and gain more mana!"
Eryndor: "that's right! where have you two learned all this information?"
They both answer shortly after each other
Elisa: "from Sam"
Sam: "from the school library"
just then Eryndor's expression turns serious
Eryndor: "do any of you two feel like we're being watched…?"
Zero: "he's right Sam.. i feel a dark mana presence near the roof and ceiling…"
at that instant, dark purple lizard-like beasts jump down through the ceiling and surround the three
Eryndor: "don't.. move… these beasts use sound to see.. let me handle these creatures…"
the beasts walk slowly towards eryndor's voice
Eryndor: "Starga… 4 dimensional sound…"
the beasts stop in their tracks, their ears moving around a lot
Eryndor: "Sam, do you know the forbidden spell technique?"
Sam: "dad! it's called forbidden for a reason!"
Eryndor looks at Sam wich a dead serious look, at which Sam sighs and casts
Sam: "ᛋᚾᛟᚹᚷᚱᚨᚡᛖ"
suddenly, all the enemies stop moving, before being encased in ice crystals
Sam: "okay i'm never doing that again… waaay too creepy…"
Eryndor: "so you truly have studied that many books at school… i got my Starga Rephyre at the age of 10"
Sam: "your Seishin? can i see it?"
Eryndor nodded and held out his palm and above it appeared Starga, a neon colored Seishin
Sam: "you've invented two artificial Seishins… how'd you do that at just 10 years old?!"
Eryndor: "i studied with a book that my own father once bought me on the day i got my first Seishin. it was a book he wrote himself, based on Seishin science experiments that he performed. Starga wasn't just a creation… no, he's a modified version of my very first Seishin!"
DUN!~
Sam: "you've lived your entire life with the same Seishin?!"
Eryndor: "mhm!~ and with a Seishin as powerful as yours i reckon you won't need a different one anytime soon either!"
Zero: "damn right! i've got too many qualities to be replaced!~"
Eryndor felt a disturbance, and checking his SS radar he noticed another village was being attacked, presenting an even more powerful force on the radar
Eryndor: "Sam, people are under attack again, this time a different village!"
Sam looks at Elisa
Sam: "that's our cue!"
Elisa: "we're on our way!"
Eryndor stopped them
Eryndor: "before you children go out to save the day, i want to give you two something… it should make difficult fights more possible to win…
Eryndor gives them both a metal bracelet. as soon as they put one on, a ring forms attached to it
Eryndor: "handcrafted these! they should come in handy when you're cornered. and also…"
Eryndor hands both of them a sword, glowing their Seishin's color's once they held them
Eryndor: "these swords can channel the power of the bracelets to cut sharper than a razorblade! they can also double as wands if you shrink them!
Sam: "how do you shrink it?"
Eryndor: "you'll find out! now go!"
Sam and Elisa sheathe their swords and take off. soon enough, after mana dashing their way over to the under attack village, they see none other than Mercury. around him is an army of Akki minions (and no not the illumination kind) about 6ft tall each.
Mercury: "ah~ i see you fine warriors have made it~"
Sam: "no more hiding Mercury! this ends here!"
Mercury: "what? you want another war of wizards?~ fine by me…~"
Mercury lifts his palm and shows his Akki, Magno
Mercury: "my Magno Zephire is an Akki, not a puny Seishin… you get it? i will annihilate-"
Sam: "i haven't come here for a damn WAR OF WIZARDS!!"
the ground shook
Sam: "war of wizards is just a dumb game for toddlers who feel brave enough to abuse their magic… i'm here for a real fight. Mercury."
Mercury was taken aback a bit with Sam's still strong courage, despite him just being told his disadvantage
Mercury: "you've. got. quite the nerve. do you think you can defeat the power of an Akki..? you're naive… Sam Hart. have you still not realized…"
Magno's minions walk towards Sam slowly
Sam: "Zero, judgement."
Zero: "on it!"
Zero threw the monsters in the air and tried to spike them down, but the stalactites didn't pierce even a small layer of their skin
Zero: "crap…"
Mercury: "Magno's minions are made out of pure hardened mana, Sam… that's how much power i possess now"
Sam took the sword out of its sheathe and sliced the monsters one by one, in rapid motion, slicing deep into their chests
Mercury: "where on earth did you get that..?"
Magno: "they aren't on the market, someone must've made it for him"
Sam: "these have been crafted by my father, you should be able to remember him… because he used to train you!"
Mercury: "Eryn? oh, that old fool didn't teach me half as much as i know now… i learned most of my knowledge from my own father! your dad is undereducated…"
Sam: "don't you dare damn badmouth my dad…"
Mercury: "or what? you'll kill my Akki's minions and then me? is that what you're gonna tell me? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
Sam readied his blade and started fighting the monsters and started being pushed back by their power
Sam: "Babe! i could use a bit of help here!"
Elisa joined in the fight, but to little change
Elisa: "Sam, how'd you even deal so much damage earlier?!"
Sam: "i had more time to focus at that time!"
they were thrown to the floor, they were about to be finished off
Mercury: "this quickly..? i expected more from you… i'm not even gonna bother to spare your life.. i might as well end your journey here…"
Elisa: "we're not gonna win like this Sam! what do we do?!"
Sam: "dammit.. we're cornered here… wait."
(FLASHBACK)
Eryndor: "handcrafted these! they should come in handy when you're cornered."
Sam: "Elisa! the bracelets! i was so caught up in overthinking the situation that i forgot our way out!"
Elisa: "right! let's do this then!"
Sam: "on three! one.. two…"
in that moment, Sam and Elisa got jumped by the monsters
Mercury: "we won~ i'm the strongest magic user once again!~"
Magno: "i don't trust this.. something's wrong…"
Mercury: "they said something about bracelets… and?"
then, an explosion of black and red fog occurred. the fog thickened as it came closer to the center, the two colors slowly separating
Mercury: "is this…"
Magno: "it can't be…"
when the fog fully retracts, it solidifies around Sam and Elisa, taking the form of body armor
Sam: "so this is the form dad was talking about..? i thought he was undereducated… that's what you said.. didn't you, Mercury..?"
Mercury looked in shock for a second, but quickly regained his composure
Mercury: "i conceed… i didn't think he had it in him to make something like this.. however…"
Magno's minions rush forward again
Mercury: "that won't stop you from dying!"
Sam, in a split second, slashed through every monster's neck with the sword
Sam: "i'll overcome any obstacle… with this power!"
Magno: "perhaps we have underestimated him… him and his girlfriend.."
Mercury: "what in the world..? i thought we were the strongest!"
Magno: "relax, we are the strongest. and i'll prove it to you… let's retreat for now, clearly defeating him now isn't as easy as it should be."
with that, Mercury and Magno retreat to their base through a magic portal
Sam: "but.. Elisa didn't even get to do anything…"
Elisa: "...i'll go after them"
Sam: "w- what?! but you're not strong enough on your own! what if he overpowers you?!"
Elisa smirks
Elisa: "pfft~ says you! you have a black Seishin and you killed god-like monsters summoned by an Akki! i'm going!"
Elisa dashed through the portal
Sam: "Elisa wait!"
