Samael looked puzzled and confused, his eyes darting between Aiden and the floating pendant.
Aiden smiled at the puzzlement and said, "Oh, don't worry. I'm going to confirm it."
Then he gestured with one hand, and Zephron's necklace floated through the air toward Samael.
As it drifted closer, Aiden continued, his tone casual. "If my guess is correct, your memories and whatnot have been concealed. But any of these necklaces containing her power brings it back."
Aiden had refrained from using the pendants that belonged to Lilith or Asahel. Those still worked against him to some degree, and if Samael wore one of them, he would simply disappear entirely, hidden from Aiden's sight.
But this one, the one from Zephron, would still retain the same effect as flickering in and out of existence. It wouldn't hide Samael completely, just enough to confirm what Aiden needed to know.
The necklace landed gently on Samael's neck, and the moment it made contact, his entire body jerked.
