Chapter 19 - Welcome To Xathia

The system then added a set of messages:

[Due to the level increase, the range for Void Step has been increased]

[20 meters → 25 meters]

However, this update had only been for one of his authority skills, which prompted the question from Aiden, "No improvements on the others?"

[Improvement for Authority skills varies between different levels or stages. However, only by leveling up and rising through stages will your authority skills grow]

"I see how it is. Very well then," Aiden said before making the screens disappear as he couldn't reach a decision on what to do with the remainder of his experience points right now.

He was about to head back inside when he stopped in his footsteps. "One more thing."

Then he made his status window appear before him to take a good look at the current updates.

"Good," he muttered, then started making his way back toward the party. However, they were just stepping outside as he approached.

"We're headin' out now," Alaric said, and Aiden nodded. They all walked toward their horses and mounted them one by one.

The old man had followed behind the party, and the young elf lady walked by his side as well. He said to Alaric, "Rivendale will always welcome you and your friends."

Alaric nodded and then kicked his feet slightly against the flanks of his horse and yelled, "Hya!" which made the horse start moving slowly. Aiden, who sat behind him, caught one more look at the elven girl. She smiled back at him, and then slowly the party left the chief's premises.

They rode their horses tirelessly through the evening until they arrived at the high, rising city gates of the Kingdom of Xathia.

The path leading to these gates had a considerable number of people carrying bags or other items,, and at the front gates were two men who stood guard and checked wooden carts as they crossed into the main city.

The line moved forward, and soon it was Alaric's party's turn to enter. Alaric's horse slowly walked up toward the gates, and when his gaze met with one of the guards, he simply nodded. The guard nodded back.

Alaric was well known by these guards, especially given how frequently he left the gates and returned with his party.

As soon as they crossed through the gates, Alaric said, "Welcome to Xathia!" with a grin on his face.

Aiden tilted his head to the side in an attempt to see over Alaric's large frame from behind. He was somewhat marveled at the sight, even though it was mostly dark now. However, from what he could tell, Xathia was much bigger than Dragonhold.

Right now they were in the lower city, the part of town for common folk and the like, with several winding streets stretching out in all directions.

However, that wasn't the only thing that welcomed Aiden to Xathia. Notification screens from the system had appeared before him,

[Special Quest: Reach Xathia → Complete]

[+5 Available Stats Points]

[You have gained +500xp]

[Bonus Reward +250xp granted]

Truthfully, he had nearly even forgotten about special quest which also needed him to reach the Kingdom Of Xathia.

"Alright lad, got yer into Xathia like I said I would," Alaric said to Aiden, then added, "but I'm guessing yer haven't a clue where yer resting yer head tonight, eh?"

"Uh, not exactly," Aiden replied, as his attention was called from from the screens, which he also made disappeared at this point.

"Pitiful lad," Alaric said. "Alright, yer comin' back home with me then?" he asked while tilting his head slightly toward Aiden, who sat behind him.

Aiden nodded in agreement and said, "Yes."

Then Rakan spoke up first. "Alaric! We'll be heading off now." He spoke for himself and Ingrid, who guided her horse to step in much closer beside his.

But just before they left, Ingrid then said, "I'll be taking this monster body pieces to Garant tomorrow!"

"Alright, and don't forget, we're shuffling off again in two days," Alaric said, giving them a reminder of their next setting out date.
