Danzo Shimura's jaw tightened, though the old war hawk tried to keep his composure. The Hokage's office was suffocating with tension, and ANBU were stationed along the walls like shadows ready to strike. Across from him, Tsunade sat behind her desk, unflinching, golden-brown eyes fixed sharply on him.
Handing over Uchiha Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan—his most prized possession—was something Danzo could scarcely stomach. He had schemed, fought, and killed for this eye. To relinquish it under the Hokage's orders felt like spitting on decades of sacrifice.
But Tsunade wasn't relenting.
Danzo's lips curled into a bitter sneer. "If we're speaking of Sharingan being misused, then should Hatake Kakashi's eye not be confiscated as well? His left eye is also a Mangekyō Sharingan, is it not?"
Tsunade laughed coldly, the sound sharp as a kunai scraping against stone. "Kakashi received his Sharingan openly, under the witness of both the Third and Fourth Hokage. And you, Danzo? Who witnessed you take Shisui's eye? Certainly not Shisui himself."
Koharu and Homura shifted uncomfortably in the corner, unable to defend him. Both knew what Tsunade said was true—there had never been any legitimacy to Danzo's claim.
Danzo's face darkened, blotchy red and pale green as fury and dread warred in him. How had this information leaked? His secrets were buried deep in Root. Could Itachi have revealed it before fleeing the village? Or perhaps Orochimaru, that snake who once served under him? Whoever it was, he would ensure they paid.
Grinding his teeth, Danzo forced his tone steady. "...I can hand over Uchiha Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan. But I will do so tomorrow."
Tsunade's eyes narrowed. "Tomorrow? Do you doubt my ability to remove it safely here and now? Or is it that you require time to hide something?"
Danzo's temper finally broke. "Enough, Tsunade!" His chakra surged violently, rattling the office windows. At once, every ANBU unsheathed their weapons, shuriken and kunai glinting in the lamplight, all aimed at him.
"Calm down!" Koharu cried in panic, stepping forward. "Danzo, just hand it over. If you resist, you'll only make things worse."
"Exactly," added Homura, sweat beading his wrinkled brow. "There's no need to escalate this further. Surrender it now, in front of Hokage-sama."
Danzo's breathing grew ragged, each inhale sharp with restrained rage. Tsunade had maneuvered him into a corner, and for once, brute will alone would not pull him free.
Finally, with a stiff nod, he growled, "...Very well. I will comply."
Tsunade regarded him with a hard stare, her voice cutting like steel. "Good. And remember this, Danzo—your schemes don't slip past me. Every shadow leaves a trace."
Danzo merely muttered, "I don't understand what you mean," masking the panic rising inside. Tsunade's gaze had fallen, not on his eye, but on his right arm—the one bound heavily in bandages.
Before the silence could thicken, Tsunade gave a sudden command. "Shizune. Fetch Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura. At once."
"Eh? Y-Yes, Tsunade-sama!" Shizune blinked in surprise, but hurried out the door.
Danzo's heart skipped. Why summon them? Did Tsunade plan to expose even more? His pulse throbbed against the bandages of his right arm, the arm that concealed his greatest secret—the grotesque graft of Hashirama's cells, lined with stolen Sharingan.
Minutes later, the office doors opened, and Kakashi, Sakura, and Naruto entered. Kakashi's single visible eye swept the room in wary confusion, while Sakura looked completely lost. Naruto, however, wore a knowing look, his blue eyes sharp and steady.
Tsunade folded her arms, her expression grim. "You've arrived just in time. Danzo Shimura, by my authority as Fifth Hokage, you are hereby under arrest for crimes against the village."
Danzo slammed his cane against the floor. "Arrest me? Don't overstep your position, Tsunade! You are Hokage, yes, but you do not hold absolute power. Konoha is not yours to dictate alone!"
"Is it yours, then?" Tsunade shot back, voice laced with venom. "Danzo, remove the bandages from your right arm. Show everyone what you've been hiding."
Before Danzo could retort, a golden blur flickered behind him. Naruto's arm hooked tightly around his neck, slamming him forward against the desk with surprising strength.
"Don't move," Naruto warned, his voice steady with deadly resolve. His free hand spun with a vibrant sphere of chakra, the Rasengan whining hungrily in his palm. "The second you resist, this is going straight through your skull."
Danzo's eyes widened. The brat—he dared?
"Naruto!" Koharu shouted, aghast. "That is an elder of the village you're manhandling! Know your place!"
Naruto's gaze flicked to her, cold and sharp. "Say one more word, and I'll arrest you, too."
Koharu froze, her protests dying on her lips.
Even Tsunade raised a brow. She hadn't expected Naruto to take such an uncompromising stance. But she didn't stop him. Not this time.
Danzo snarled under his breath, rage burning hotter than ever. Did they truly think he would submit so easily?
But before he could weave a hand sign or trigger his secret techniques, Naruto drove the Rasengan straight into the side of his head.
The explosion of chakra twisted through bone and flesh, splattering the wall with fragments. Danzo's body crumpled, headless, onto the Hokage's desk.
Naruto stood over him, chest heaving, Rasengan fading to nothing. His eyes narrowed, knowing this wasn't the end. Shimura Danzo was too slippery, too steeped in forbidden techniques. He wouldn't die so easily.
And Naruto was ready for him.
