Looking at the notifications I had suppressed throughout the day, I mentally reviewed what was awaiting me on Monday, 'I'll need to make a killing over the next few days in order to meet my maintenance. Though with all the skills I bought for the cookoff, I should see a massive jump in profits. I'll need to check in with Ashe and the farm as well to see what the profit is gonna look like, and if I can use the ingredients to offset my expenses at the restaurant.'
I almost started to run the number in my head when I felt the weight resting against my arm shift, "Mhmmm, o-one more drink."
Patty muttered in her sleep as she rolled over, selfishly using my bicep as a pillow. For the final bet of the night, Patty ended up winning first pick when it came to sleeping positions. Summer came in second, getting my other arm while Tricia and Megan were curled up against my thighs.
They were all sleeping peacefully, having completely burned out from the night's activities and refreshments. In all honesty, they had won a lot more than I expected and consequently had far more drinks.
'Tomorrow morning is definitely going to be an interesting time,' I thought with a rueful smile, already imagining the groans and death wishes from the girls as they woke up with hangovers strong enough to put down an elephant.
'Actually, I might have something that can help.' I thought with a grin as I started to browse through the system.
---
"Nhhhhh, someone make it stop," Summer groaned as she stumbled into the dining room, clutching her head and walking with slow stuttering steps.
"Sshhhh, no talk," Patty groaned, her head pressed against the cold stone countertop. "Words are daggers in brain."
"Just how much did we drink last night?" Megan asked with a groan, "Actually, no one answer that. If I hear a number, I might throw up. Again."
"It's all his fault," Tricia muttered as she pressed a cool cloth against her forehead, "He made those drinks too damn good, and used his body and good looks to persuade us to drink more."
"Yes, I'm such an awful person," I replied with mock sympathy as I tended to a pot on the stove, "It's definitely not like I implemented multiple rules to keep you from overdrinking and that my only mistake was vastly underestimating the will of a group of girls on a yacht to black out over the span of three hours."
"Your sarcasm isn't helping," Summer groaned as she took a seat at the table, "Just give me something that will make the pain go away."
Megan let out a painful chuckle, "A gun will do the trick."
"Why don't you all eat and drink something first, and then we can discuss more drastic measures later?" I interrupted the morbid conversation as I started to put plates and bowls down on the table, followed by a pitcher of water and orange juice.
"No offense, but I feel like just looking at food will make me throw up." Patty groaned as she kept her head pressed against the table.
"I don't need to tell you that your body needs calories and fluids to recover, so please just have at least a couple of bites." I insisted while making plates for the girls and filling up their glasses.
"One bite, that's all I can manage," Megan let out a tired sigh as she picked up her fork and speared a clump of eggs. I watched as Megan took a hesitant bite of the eggs as if expecting her body to reject the food the moment it touched her tongue.
Instead, Megan's eyes widened as she took one bite and then another before swallowing, "I actually do feel a lot better."
Megan's fork went in for another go, this time spearing a sausage that she eagerly ate in one bite, "Did you crush up some type of pain killer and put it in the food. My migraine is almost gone."
"You're exaggerating, right?" Tricia asked with desperation in her voice, "You wouldn't give the rest of us false hope like that, would you?"
Megan shook her head as she finished off her sausage, "I'm not lying, I really am feeling better."
Tricia was next to pick up her fork and start eating, and I watched in real time as the clamminess disappeared from her cheeks, and then tension melted away from her face, "Omg, this food is actually a miracle worker. I feel like I popped a whole bottle of aspirin."
Hearing their friends' testimonies, Patty and Summer quickly started eating as well, and I watched their conditions improve in real time.
"I don't know how this is possible, but I'm not hungover anymore," Summer announced, "I drank enough to kill a small horse, but one bite of food and I feel like I'm ready for a hot yoga session."
Tricia glanced over at Summer with a questioning expression on her face, "When have you ever done hot yoga?"
"Not once, but regular yoga is painful enough," Summer answered cynically, "Has to be ten times worse when you're stuck in some hot ass room with people's sweat pooling up on the floor."
"Could you not talk about that while I'm eating?" Patty complained as she scarfed down her food, "I don't think food will ever taste this good again."
"Yeah, what drugs did you put in here, and can I have some more?" Tricia joked with a euphoric expression on her face.
I shook my head, "No drugs in the food, just a special ingredient that I'm not willing to give up just yet."

"Well, aren't all of you up bright and early?" Lois smiled as she walked into the dining room.
"Why do you sound so surprised?" Megan asked, glancing over at her mother.
"You sent me pictures from last night, and even without any context, I could tell you girls were all shit faced," Lois replied as she walked over to me and trailed her hand across my chest, "How you're all not hungover and begging for death is beyond me."
Tricia grinned, "We all were until Ramon made us breakfast and magically cured us."
"That sounds about right," Losi muttered as she moved to stand in front of me, and I wrapped my arms around her waist, "We all know that's not the only thing magical about him."
"Omg, Ms. Griffin, what's gotten into you?" Summer laughed as she watched Lois lean back against me, "Also, are you doing something different with your skin. It looks amazing."
"Nothing that I can in particular," Lois hummed with a small knowing smile, "Though I did sleep particularly well last night."
"Yeah, you vanished almost halfway through dinner, and no one ever saw you again," Tricia pointed out. "Did something happen?"
Lois' smile grew, "I would be lying if I said nothing did. But it wasn't anything bad, I just needed to recover a bit and sleep it off. Now I'm ready for our last day."
"Are we doing another day just lounging about on the yacht?" Megan asked, looking towards me for an answer.
"No, I have something planned; in fact, we should be arriving at any moment now."
"Arriving where?" Megan asked just as the boat's foghorn reverberated through the air, followed by the captain's booming voice, "Land HO!"
