Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 : The Seven Faces of Dreams

she was afraid to close her eyes, Rose kept them open. Then, from the heaviness that had entered her eyes long ago, they gradually closed on their own. In the morning, Doctor John and Peter came to her tent to check on her. Both of them examined the red bruises on her hands and face carefully. Without responding, she kept her eyes closed for a few moments. After opening her eyes, she began to describe the experience she had the previous day.

"I fulfilled two desires in the spiritual world."

Upon hearing this, both of their faces tensed up.

She did not mention the desire she had actually fulfilled.

Instead, she explained to them only what she had seen in her dream the previous day.

When Peter heard this, he began to feel frightened.

He was unable to control the trembling of his hands and feet.

"The bruises on her hands and face are side effects of the astral projection," Peter said, trembling.

Upon hearing Peter's words, the doctor also began to feel frightened.

"Don't be afraid. I only fulfilled a small desire. That desire doesn't hold much significance in my life.

That's why only a small part of my life was taken by the spiritual world," she said calmly.

Peter slowly came closer to her side.

"There is one more thing about the spiritual world that you both haven't been told.

Do you know why these side effects occur?

These changes in the body happen when the spiritual world consumes a part of our life.

The changes that appeared in your body also indicate exactly that.

Either the spiritual world takes what it needs from a part of your body,

or the bruises on your hands and face are just the beginning

sometimes, the spiritual world will come again to take another part of your remaining life."

With a harsh tone, the doctor said to Peter,

"After something this important happened, is this the first time you're telling me?"

"I never thought she would fulfill another desire.

She didn't even hint at such a thing to me.

That's why I apologize."

After saying this, Peter looked at her once.

Hearing this, the doctor didn't know what to say.

He fell into silence for a while.

He was contemplating ways to save her.

Suddenly, Doctor John's face brightened.

"Didn't you say that if anything happens from the astral projection, there would be another way in your hands?"

The doctor looked at Peter with hope.

After a brief moment of silence, Peter spoke to him.

"I do have a way in my hands. That is indeed the truth. But I have not implemented it until now. Therefore, I don't know how much result it will yield. Anyway, I will explain it to you,"

A slight disappointment spread across the doctor's face.

"We all experience dreams, right? When we see a dream and try to tell it to someone in the morning, we usually have a story that lasts around 10 minutes. But in reality, the time we spend dreaming is only a few seconds. So how is it possible that we are able to describe the dream for 10 minutes?

Our subconscious mind weaves the dream we saw into a story, thread by thread. (The subconscious mind is the deep part of our mind that works without us paying direct attention, It preserves memories, interests, dreams, deep fears, and guides our thoughts and actions on its own.)

That is what we tell others. Do you know about ONEIRONAUTICS, Doctor?

The meaning of that word is basically "dream travel." In the Buddhist tradition that we are familiar with, this is referred to as "Dream Yoga."

It is a similar concept that I am about to explain now.

Lucid dreaming. The meaning of lucid dreaming is simply to fully see a dream. But what does it mean to see a dream clearly? It means that we are consciously aware while dreaming.

We don't have control over our dreams.

We do not dream according to our own desires. Lucid dreaming is different from this.

I must see a dream in such a way that I am fully aware it is a dream.

That is what we call lucid dreaming.

In 1913, Dutch philosopher and psychiatrist Frederik van Eeden introduced the term "Lucid Dream" to the world for the first time through his book A Study of Dreams.

He conducted research on dreams for over fifteen years. During that time, he recorded more than 500 dreams, of which he identified 382 as lucid dreams. Through his studies, he classified dreams into seven types. Each category reveals different layers of the human mind, the stages of sleep, and the functions of the subconscious.

The first type of dream is called the INITIAL DREAM.

This is the most primitive form of dream.

In such a dream, only light trails and color splashes appear as visuals. It is extremely rare and cannot be experienced by everyone.

The reason is that these dreams occur when REM Sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) is very minimal. The state is caused when only the visual cortex of the brain becomes active.

An example of this dream would be when a person falls asleep and, without realizing anything else, sees only red, blue, and white streaks flashing before their eyes.

The second type of dream is called the PATHOLOGICAL DREAM.

Only a very small percentage of people ever experience this type of dream. Even if something extremely heavy were to fall on the body, it would feel no more than a feather. This state occurs when the connection between the body and the mind temporarily disconnects.

It is an experience similar to Sleep Paralysis. Such dreams usually happen when the nervous system does not function properly.

The third type of dream is called the ORDINARY DREAM.

These are the common dreams we experience almost every day. They are formed from the things we have forgotten, small events that happen in our daily lives, and the memories hidden deep within the mind. For example, seeing a familiar person from the day appear again in a dream, or reliving an old event from our past

The fourth type of dream is called the VIVID DREAM.

This is a dream that feels intensely real. When we directly witness accidents, terrifying experiences, or traumatic events, those impressions become deeply imprinted in the mind, causing the same scenes to reappear in our dreams for several days

The fifth type of dream is called the DEMONIC / SYMBOLIC DREAM.

These are dreams filled with meaning religious, philosophical, or symbolic messages. Sometimes they appear in the form of frightening figures, while at other times they manifest as divine symbols.

For example, a deceased person appearing in our dream to deliver a message.

The sixth type of dream is called SENSATIONAL DREAMING.

This refers to dreams that focus entirely on a single element. It could be repeatedly seeing a particular number, dreaming only of a specific place, or continually encountering a certain person in dreams. Such dreams, revolving around a single event or symbol, are known as SENSATIONAL DREAMING.

The dream I am going to explain now is the one we are going to make Rose experience.

Lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreaming has both advantages and disadvantages.

If you ask what the advantages are, it is that here we are going to eliminate the fear that exists inside Rose.

I will talk about the disadvantages at the end.

What I am going to explain now is something that both Rose and the doctor must listen to carefully.

I am going to explain how lucid dreaming can be done," Peter continued after taking a deep breath and exhaling.

"Lucid dreaming is not as easy as performing astral projection.

It can only be achieved through precise training.

Within a period of 7 to 14 days, on some random day, a lucid dream will occur.

If Rose concentrates well, she will be able to do it within two or three days."

Suddenly, Robert's voice was heard from outside.

"Doctor, I am coming in ."

After saying this, Robert entered the tent.

As soon as Robert stepped in, he acted as if Rose had closed her eyes and fallen asleep.

"Peter, were you here too?

Both of you come. Let's have breakfast.

Everyone is waiting for you," Robert said.

Thinking that Robert must not understand what had happened to Rose, Peter and John quickly went outside.

The three of them walked toward the others.

They sat together and had breakfast.

After breakfast, Robert subtly indicated to the others that the fire had been extinguished.

Throughout the meal, only Peter's words remained in the doctor's mind.

His face showed eagerness to fully understand them.

That day, since there was an ample supply of meat and water, no one went into the forest.

After finishing their meal in preparation for complete rest, everyone returned to their tents.

Only two people went closer to the shore, toward the place where they had written "Help Me" with stones, so that the rescue workers passing by could see it.

Though there were not many expectations, there were always at least two people standing guard there.

After giving Rose her breakfast, the doctor and Peter went toward her tent.

That day, the lamp was in a resting state, the waves were lapping the island with reduced strength, and the wind was blowing with even lower force, gently caressing the island.

Even though everyone else was resting, neither the doctor nor Peter was in such a state.

Their minds were occupied only with thoughts of Rose.
