My Past Life – Part 24: The Final Showdown Part 3.
The air was thick with tension as Scorpio stood a few feet away from Joy, Peter, Joe, and Sarah. His cold, bloody eyes scanned them like a predator sizing up its prey. A cruel smirk twisted his lips as he spoke, his voice dripping with mockery.
"I knew you wouldn't carry out your mission," Scorpio said, shaking his head. "I knew your love for this little boy would cloud your judgment. Just like always, love weakens you. It stops you from becoming the perfect killer you were meant to be."
Joy's heart pounded in her chest, but she refused to back down. She stepped in front of Peter, shielding him with her body. "Stay behind me," she ordered, her voice firm despite the fear clawing at her throat.
Scorpio let out a dark chuckle. "Let them go," Joy pleaded, her eyes locked onto Peter's. "Take my life instead. I'm willing to give it up for them. Please."
Scorpio's laughter echoed through the empty school ground, sharp and merciless. "Hahahaha! You still don't get it, do you? Your life means nothing to me. You will die—but not before you watch every single one of them die first. Then, I'll kill you myself." With a flick of his left hand, his men moved into position, weapons ready, their eyes filled with bloodlust.
Peter clenched his fists, his body tense but unshaken. "So, you're Scorpio," he said, his voice steady. "Well, judging by what I see, you really do deserve that name. Those scars, that strong body, those bloody eyes—it's all very… unique. But you're the only one who's going to die here today. You and your men. I'm going to protect them all."
With that, Peter pulled Joy behind him and stepped forward, his stance unyielding.
Scorpio cracked his knuckles, a sadistic grin spreading across his face. "Brat, you've got guts, but you're nothing. I'll tell you what—if you lick my dick, I'll let you live."
His men burst into laughter, the sound echoing eerily across the school grounds.
Peter didn't flinch. Instead, he smirked. "Funny. But I bet if you had a sister, she'd suck mine and beg for more."
The laughter died instantly. The air grew heavy with rage, thick enough to choke on. Scorpio's men glared, their fury burning like wildfire.
Scorpio's grin vanished, replaced by pure malice. "I'm going to make you suffer before you die," he growled, his body coiling like a snake ready to strike.
"Wait! Hold on, both of you!" Joe suddenly rushed to Peter's side, his breathing ragged.
Peter didn't take his eyes off Scorpio. "What do you want, Joe? Go stay with Sarah. I'm about to break this guy."
Joe shook his head. "You can't beat him alone, Peter. You're injured. Let's fight him together."
"You're worse off than I am, Joe. Go protect Sarah," Peter insisted.
But Joe stood his ground. "I'm fighting with you. I owe you this for saving my life." He took his battle stance, determination flashing in his eyes. "Let's do our best to survive—or at least break him before we die."
Peter exhaled sharply, then nodded. "Agreed."
Scorpio's grin returned, wider and more vicious than before. "Finally. Now… let's start."
Joe turned to Joy and Sarah, his voice urgent. "Joy, protect Sarah! I'll do my best to help Peter!"
Joy smiled, "No problem, I hope we all survive".
Then scorpio moved so fast that it seemed like magic. One moment, he was standing in front of Joe and Peter, and the next, he had vanished—only to reappear right behind him. Before Joe could even turn around, Scorpio grabbed him and threw him with incredible force. Joe flew through the air, crashing straight into the principal's office, which was only a few feet away. The impact was so strong that the door shattered into pieces, and Joe landed hard on the floor inside, groaning in pain.
"Joe!!!" Sarah screamed, her voice filled with panic. She wanted to run to him, but she was frozen in fear, watching the chaos unfold.
Peter, however, didn't hesitate. He clenched his fists and charged at Scorpio, determined to fight back. With all his strength, he threw a powerful right punch, aiming straight for Scorpio's ribs. But Scorpio was too quick. He caught Peter's hand mid-air, stopping the punch effortlessly. Then, with a cruel smirk, Scorpio lifted Peter off the ground and slammed him down onto the hard floor.
The impact knocked the breath out of Peter's lungs, and he coughed violently, blood trickling from his mouth. Before he could recover, Scorpio raised his foot high, ready to stomp down on Peter's face. At the very last second, Peter rolled to the side, barely avoiding the attack. Scorpio's foot hit the ground instead, and the force was so strong that cracks spread across the floor like spiderwebs.
Peter gasped, wiping blood from his lips. "Shit… he's powerful," he muttered, his body aching. But he wasn't giving up. He forced himself back onto his feet and dashed at Scorpio again, refusing to back down.
Meanwhile, at the School Gate
Sarah was still in shock, staring at the wreckage where Joe had been thrown. But before she could move, Joy grabbed her arm and yanked her down behind a nearby wall.
"Sarah, get down now!" Joy shouted urgently.
Sarah barely had time to react before Joy reached into her shirt and pulled out a sleek, powerful pistol. Without hesitation, Joy aimed and fired three quick shots—Boom! Boom! Boom!
The bullets struck three men who had been sneaking up behind Sarah, their weapons raised and ready to attack. The men collapsed to the ground, lifeless, before they even had a chance to pull the trigger.
"F***!!!" Sarah screamed, covering her ears as the gunshots echoed through the air. Her heart pounded in her chest, and her hands trembled. When she looked at the bodies of the men on the ground, a cold numbness spread through her. She had never seen death up close before, and the sight made her stomach twist in horror.
Joy, still gripping the pistol tightly, turned to Sarah with a serious expression. "We don't have time to panic," she said firmly. "We need to move—now."
The sound of gunfire exploded through the hallway like thunder. Boom! Boom! Boom! Bullets tore through the air, shattering windows and embedding themselves into the walls. Joy grabbed Sarah's arm and yanked her forward.
"Move! Now!" Joy shouted, her voice sharp with urgency.
Sarah stumbled as Joy pulled her into the nearest classroom. The door slammed shut behind them just as another hail of bullets ripped through the hallway. The deafening noise made Sarah's ears ring. She pressed herself against the floor, her heart pounding so hard she could feel it in her throat.
Joy crouched beside her, breathing heavily. She pulled out two pistols from her belt, her fingers moving quickly as she reloaded them. The metallic click-clack of the guns being cocked echoed in the tense silence.
"Hold on tight, Sarah," Joy growled, her eyes locked on the door. "Stay the fuck down."
Sarah nodded, her body trembling. She could hear the footsteps of Scorpio's men outside, their voices shouting orders. The gunfire had stopped—for now.
Back, on the School Grounds
Scorpio stood over Joe, his lips curled into a cruel smirk. Joe lay on the ground, coughing up blood. His face was bruised, his body battered from the fight.
"You think you can beat me?" Scorpio sneered, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Look at you—broken, weak."
With a sudden movement, Scorpio kicked Joe in the face. The impact sent Joe crashing back onto the ground, his head spinning. Blood trickled from his mouth as he gasped for air.
But before Scorpio could strike again, Peter appeared behind him. With all his strength, Peter drove his fists into Scorpio's ribs and thighs.
"Argh!" Scorpio grunted in pain.
But he recovered quickly. His hand shot out, grabbing Peter by the throat before he could dodge. Scorpio lifted him off the ground, squeezing tighter as Peter choked, his face turning red.
"You think you can hurt me, boy?" Scorpio laughed, his grip tightening. "Struggle all you want—it won't save you. Hahahaha!"
Joe, still on the ground, saw a long wooden plank nearby—leftover debris from the principal's office. With a desperate burst of energy, he grabbed it and swung it with all his might.
CRACK!
The plank smashed into Scorpio's head. The force of the blow made Scorpio stagger, his grip loosening just enough for Peter to break free. Peter gasped, falling to his knees as he gulped in air.
Scorpio turned slowly, his eyes burning with rage. "You little piece of shit," he hissed, wiping dust from his hair.
Joe saw Scorpio coming and knew he had to act fast. He grabbed two heavy iron rods from the ground, gripping them tightly. Without hesitation, he charged.
Scorpio threw a punch—fast and powerful—but Joe barely dodged it. Instead, he swung the rods with all his strength, slamming them into Scorpio's back.
THUD!
The impact was so hard that the rods broke on contact.
"Arghhhhhhh! FUUUCK!" Scorpio screamed, dropping to one knee.
Peter didn't waste the opportunity. He leaped forward, driving both knees into Scorpio's ribs.
"ARGHHHHHH!" Scorpio roared again as he collapsed onto the ground.
Joe and Peter stood side by side, panting heavily.
"How… how can one man be this strong?" Joe muttered, wiping sweat from his brow. "We've hit him with everything we've got, and he's still standing. He's not even bleeding!"
Peter nodded, his chest rising and falling rapidly. "We need weapons," he said grimly. "Hand-to-hand isn't enough."
Joe clenched his fists. "Let's finish this."
Scorpio was already getting back up, his eyes filled with fury.
Peter and Joe braced themselves.
"Here he comes," Peter warned.
They charged.
Back in the Classroom
Sarah flinched as the gunfire outside finally stopped. The sudden silence was almost as terrifying as the noise.
"Ahhh… ah… wait," she whispered, lifting her head slightly. "They've stopped shooting!"
Joy, still crouched near the door, listened carefully. "Yeah," she muttered. "They're out of bullets."
She stood up slowly, her pistols ready.
"Stay here," Joy ordered, her voice cold. "Keep lying down. I'm going to end this."
Sarah swallowed hard. "Be careful," she said softly. Then, after a pause, she added, "And… thank you."
Joy smirked. "Don't thank me yet, bitch," she said before stepping out into the hallway.
The moment she appeared, Scorpio's men turned toward her—but they were too slow.
Joy raised both pistols and fired.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Bullets tore through the air, striking down men one after another. Blood sprayed like fountains. Heads exploded. Legs shattered under the gunfire.
"Take this, you pieces of shit!" Joy snarled, her eyes blazing with fury.
The hallway became a battlefield.
And the fight was far from over.
To be continued…
