My Past Life – Part 26: The Final Showdown Part 5
Scorpio's voice was cold, dripping with arrogance as he glared at the battered group before him. His eyes locked onto Peter and Joe—or rather, where Joe had been. A twisted smirk curled on his lips.
"I really, really underestimated you all," Scorpio sneered, his voice rough with amusement. "Especially you two." He pointed at Peter, then at Joe's lifeless body. "Oh… wait. I almost forgot—he's dead." He chuckled darkly. "I guess his body wasn't strong enough to handle my full strength".
Sarah's scream tore through the air. "JOE!!!!!" She dropped to her knees beside him, her hands pressing desperately against his chest. "Please… wake up! Wake up, Joe!" Her voice cracked with panic as she bent down, trying to force air into his lungs with shaky breaths.
Peter, barely able to stand, wiped blood from his mouth as he stared at Scorpio in disbelief. His body ached, his vision blurred, but one question burned in his mind.
"How?" Peter gasped. "How are you alive? I saw the bullet go through you! You're supposed to be DEAD!"
Scorpio laughed—a deep, mocking sound. "Did you really think a little gun like that could kill me?" He tapped his forehead. "You aimed for my belly, not my head. That was your biggest mistake."
Before Peter could react, Scorpio lunged. His fists became a blur—each punch landing with brutal force. Peter tried to block, but Scorpio's speed was inhuman. Every strike sent shocks of pain through Peter's body, forcing blood from his lips.
Then—WHAM!
A devastating side kick smashed into Peter's face. The impact sent him flying, his body crashing hard against the ground. Dust and debris scattered as he groaned, struggling to move.
Scorpio loomed over him, grinning. "Hahaha! One by one, I'll make sure you all suffer." He grabbed Peter by the throat, lifting him effortlessly off the ground. Peter's legs dangled, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
"Now… you die," Scorpio growled. He raised his free hand, fingers curled into a deadly strike aimed straight for Peter's heart.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Gunshots exploded through the air. Scorpio staggered as bullets tore into his back. He snarled, releasing Peter as he spun around.
Sarah stood there, gun trembling in her hands, tears streaming down her face. "DIE!!!!" she screamed, her voice raw with fury. "MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!"
Scorpio clutched his bleeding wounds, his face twisting in rage. "Argh! You stupid—!" He charged at her, blood splattering the ground with every step. "I'LL KILL YOU!"
Sarah pulled the trigger again.
Click. Click. Click.
Her gun was empty.
Her heart pounded. She glared at Scorpio, defiance burning in her eyes. "Fuck!" she spat. "I'm out. Fine. Kill me, you savage! At least I'll be with Joe again!"
Scorpio stopped inches from her, his bloodied fist raised. His breath was heavy, his body wounded—but his hatred burned darker than ever.
With a vicious grin, he swung his right fist with terrifying force, aiming directly at Sarah's head—a blow meant to kill her on impact. But before his knuckles could connect, a battered and barely conscious Peter threw himself in the way, shielding Sarah with his own body.
"ARRRGHHHHHHHH!" Peter screamed as Scorpio's punch slammed into him with bone-crushing power. His body shuddered from the impact, but he somehow stayed on his feet, his arms spread wide to protect Sarah.
"Get the fuck out of here, Sarah!" Peter gasped, his voice ragged and weak. "Call for help—NOW!"
But Scorpio wasn't done. With a cruel sneer, he drove his knee upward, smashing it straight into Peter's stomach. The force of the blow knocked the air from Peter's lungs, and a thick spray of blood burst from his mouth as he crumpled forward.
"Guh—ACK!" Peter choked, his legs buckling beneath him. Tears streamed down his face, mixing with the blood dripping from his lips. His vision blurred, his body trembling as he fought to stay conscious.
Scorpio loomed over him, his voice dripping with malice. "You're all going to die," he declared, his words echoing through the empty hallway like a death sentence.
But then—BANG! BANG!
Two gunshots rang out, sharp and deafening in the silence. Scorpio's body jerked violently as the bullets tore through his skull, sending him stumbling backward.
"No," Joy's voice cut through the chaos, cold and unwavering. "You're the one who's going to die."
Scorpio's eyes widened in shock as blood seeped from the fresh wounds in his head. His legs gave out beneath him, and he collapsed to the ground with a heavy THUD.
"Bitch…" Scorpio spat, his voice weak and fading. "I should've… finished you off… completely…"
Then, silence.
Joy stood there, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she struggled to catch her breath. The gun in her hand trembled slightly, smoke still curling from the barrel. A slow, exhausted laugh escaped her lips.
"Ah… hahaha…" she panted, wiping sweat from her brow. "Now… it's truly over."
But Sarah wasn't celebrating. She dropped to her knees beside joe, her hands shaking as she grabbed his shoulders.
"JOE! JOE! JOE!" she screamed, her voice breaking like a child's. "Wake up, please! PLEASE!"
Joy rushed to Sarah's side, her expression urgent. "Hey! Hey!" she snapped, grabbing Sarah's arm. "We don't have time—the police are coming! We need to get their bodies out of here NOW!"
Sarah swallowed hard, her tears still falling, but she nodded. With trembling hands, she hooked her arms under Peter's shoulders and dragged him forward, his lifeless body heavy in her grip. Joy quickly scooped up Joe's motionless form, grunting under the weight.
Together, they staggered down the hallway, their footsteps echoing as they fled the scene—leaving behind the wreckage of the battle, the bloodstained floors, and the lifeless body of Scorpio, and Scorpio's men.
