Chapter 9 – Null
Flower stood still.
In his hands was the last Soul – the soul of his younger brother.
The one who once protected him, now nothing more than a cold memory.
No barriers remained to hold him back.
Flower took a step forward, moving toward Reaper.
They exchanged no words.
Flower silently held out the Soul.
Reaper accepted it, his hand trembling slightly, then placed it into the box.
---
Inside the space of the box… there was no resistance.
No screams. No light fighting back.
Only the emptiness devouring everything.
Flower whispered:
"…Did we do something wrong?"
Reaper didn't answer immediately. A bead of sweat slid down his cheek.
He knew this Soul – it once belonged to someone he cherished.
"Freedom… I only wanted to set him free…" Reaper replied, his voice heavy.
---
The box trembled, floating in mid-air.
Blinding white light burst forth, stretching as if tearing apart the very fabric of space.
From within, a vague shape emerged…
No eyes, no face, no flesh – just a mass of ever-shifting monstrosity.
No name. No place in any memory.
But I know.
I gave him a name: Null.
---
Null was something that should not exist.
A being sealed over and over again, across every dimension and timeline.
But this time… he was no longer imprisoned.
The light faded.
Flower and Reaper stood before him – and both realized:
Null was becoming prey for another.
One they did not want to name: Evil.
---
Null moved slightly.
With every step, space itself seemed to twist.
Flower instinctively stepped back, hand reaching for a weapon, but…
A shadow appeared behind Null, gripping his neck.
"At last… I've found you."
That voice… I recognized it instantly.
Docter.
But not the Docter I knew.
His eyes burned red, his face twisted with arrogance and long-held fury.
---
Docter lifted Null effortlessly, slamming him into a wall of energy.
The impact echoed like thunder.
Null staggered, for the first time on the defensive.
"You should never have existed." Docter spoke, each word like a blade.
Flower started to speak, but Reaper pulled him back.
"No… don't interfere. That… is no longer Docter."
---
Null lunged to counterattack, but Docter vanished, reappearing behind him.
A single punch tore through that formless flesh.
Horrid screeches rang out.
Docter tilted his head, a dangerous smile spreading:
"I'll tear you apart piece by piece."
But just as he prepared the final blow, a voice echoed from the void:
"Stop."
Reaper's hand blocked Docter.
"You don't understand… you're becoming something else."
Docter scoffed, pulling away.
"Maybe… but I don't care anymore."
He vanished, leaving only a chilling emptiness.
---
Flower turned to Reaper:
"So… Docter…?"
Reaper's voice was stern:
"He's gone beyond his limits. His ego… has become a new entity. Evil."
Far away, aboard the command ship, another voice spoke:
"He… has been freed?"
The sound of a coffee cup hitting the floor.
"No… He's split apart. And now… he's got multiple personalities."
