Chapter 19 - Trails of Acacia

The time in the dimension where time doesn't flow, Nicholas is standing in the middle of the grassland where tall stalks of grass and varieties of flowers are thriving, he is facing a thought.

He closes his eyes and sees the image of Nelly, and it irritates him. He shakes his head and opens his eyes.

"I shouldn't have thought about her," he groaned.

He turns around, and from a distance, Elesia is sitting under the shade of a tree. She lifts her head, and she releases a deep breath. Her eyes catch sight of two dark shoes beside her, causing her to look up.

The first thing she notices is the look on Nicholas' face at her. "What's running in your mind?"

Elesia replies with a short silence before replying, "I'm just dwelling in my anger on that monster, and I can't accept that you will stop me from killing him."

Nicholas crouches and sighs. "You know, Elesia, I'm just worried that you would get your hands dirty. When I was connected with him, I saw the truth in his words. I know that he's a murderer but some murderers repent."

Elesia shakes her head quickly. She stands up with furrowing brows, and narrowing eyes. "You'd better shut your mouth, Nicholas! I don't care if you have that air beast within you, I can beat you.

"Second, you are not in the right place to say that to a woman who lost her family! I do not need any of your dumb opinions!"

Nicholas steps back and feels her shoulder hitting his shoulder as she walks hurriedly past him. He follows her trail with his eyes and sees her disappearing.

The tall stalks of grass rustle near him, and Radish whose eyes are fixating on him, remains hiding in the grass stalks.

A group of trees fall in half after Elesia swings her scythe in front of them. She watches them fall before firing a large energy beam at them whilst Nicholas is sitting on a rock together with Juan beside him.

Juan looks at Nicholas with concern in his gaze. "Hey, are you okay, little Nic?"

Nicholas continues to show a look of sadness. "I haven't heard that nickname since I was an adult."

Juan shakes his head. "To my eyes... you're still the little Nic that I helped learn many subjects."

His words earn a chuckle from Nicholas, and he looks at Juan. "Look, Juan, I am thankful that you have a strong mental health or else you might go nuts after seeing human beings with powers."

Juan shakes his head slowly. "This wasn't the first time that I saw supernatural things. But anyways, what happened to Elesia, did she tell you anything?"

Nicholas looks down at the ground, and he stays quiet. Reading his responsiveness, Juan pats Nicholas's shoulder which earns his attention.

"Tell me everything, little Nic," Juan told him with a short glance.

Nicholas sees a stick and picks it up. He begins scribbling on the soil below him as he watches his hands sketching patterns. "I told her that murderers do change, and she got mad, I was just aiming to lighten her mood."

Juan slaps the shoulder of Nicholas, and he shrieks. Juan sighs. "Showing your concern to someone you treat as a close friend is not wrong but telling insensitive things like what you've told her will only cause her to be furious at you.

"You're lucky that she didn't harm you physically but you're unlucky for not using the right words. Because, little Nic, when we think of words in our mind, we construct them with our heart."

He shows Nicholas a little smile. "So, go, and apologise to her with all your heart."

Understanding his words, Nicholas stands up. He nods at Juan and scrambles to find Elesia. She continues to cut trees in half while releasing cries of her agony. Her ears perk at the sound of something falling behind her, and she turns around, seeing Nicholas lying on the ground.

He stands up and looks at her while recovering his breath. After that, he gulps and inhales deeply.

"Listen, Elesia. I have no right to say all of those words to you," Nicholas said.

"Damn, right! But because you think that you can just motivate me with your words, you left your sense of thinking, and throw words that carelessly trigger my anger!" Elesia swung her scythe downwards, "You'd better speak the right words! I won't hesitate to leave a scar on your body, you moron!"

The sight of her being furious causes Nicholas to gulp as he pulls and pushes his hands gently as if he's trying to calm her down.

"I didn't lose anyone like you went through," he lowered his hands while looking straight at her, "and I apologise that I didn't think carefully before uttering those words, and I was just trying to motivate you but I only made you mad."

He smiles a bit, and raises his hand, extending it towards her. "Can we start all over again like how we came here?"

The scythe in her hand disappears, and she walks closer to him. She remains serious but she holds his hand, shaking it gently. "We came here to get stronger, and if accepting that Radish will give us extra manpower against the evil seeds, I have no choice but to accept him."

Both of them look behind hem, and Radish is standing near them. He inhales deeply and clenches his hands. "I am aware of my past sins, and I am determined to help mankind fight against my own kind.

"I have decided, I will help you against my own kind, and you two will help me defeat the wooden sage. When I defeat the wood sage, I can have the power to educate the new generations of my kind, putting a stop to the negative beliefs that the wood sage has implanted in us."

Elesia releases Nicholas' hand. She faces Radish and leans her hand towards him. "For a bright future for both races, let's do that."

Nicholas clears his throat. "I suggest we go back to my world, and find Acacia because I couldn't find him after Coseria's fall."

Radish suddenly remembers something. He looks at Nicholas. "I think I know where he is going right now! He's on a mission to find those abandoned kids, and bring them to our world."

Nicholas clenches his hands. "That's bad news, let's go find him quickly!"

In the world of humans, inside an orphanage, a man with striking visual features while wearing a suit and tie is sitting on a chair across a maiden. The maiden smiles, clearly indulging with the man across her.

"Excuse me, young man, I'll be back." She stood and walked towards the kitchen.

The brown eyes of the man turn to green eyes for a second while his hands are intertwined. "Those kids are innocent beings which makes them the easy ones to be manipulated."
