Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 4: THE FORBIDDEN CODE

The lift screeched to a stop — not a gentle slide, but a violent, grinding halt. Sparks danced from the ceiling. Red warning lights strobed in rhythmic pulses.

[⚠️ SYSTEM ALERT: Unstable Entity in Sector B-7]

[Deploying Containment Forces...]

[Status: CODE RED]

Kael stepped out.

Sector B-7 was different. It wasn't just a place — it was alive, but not in any natural sense. The air shimmered like liquid data, every breath thick with static. Across the metal walls, streams of glowing code pulsed like veins. Fragments of old system commands floated in midair before fading into glitchy snow.

It felt like walking inside the brain of a dying god — and it knew he was here.

[⚠️ WARNING: Unauthorized Existence Detected.]

[Subject Status: ERROR_CLASS_UNKNOWN]

[Directive: Terminate Instantly.]

Kael didn't flinch. "Yeah? You can try."

He advanced slowly. Each step echoed like thunder, distorting the world around him. The corridor ahead bent subtly, as if rejecting his presence. Light flickered unnaturally — too fast to track, too wrong to ignore.

The deeper he went, the louder the whispering grew. Voices — not human — repeating corrupted strings of code, looping fragments of thought, as if the system were speaking in its sleep.

Then he saw it.

A massive chamber opened before him, circular and cold. In the center stood a black crystal suspended mid-air, cables and tendrils connected like arteries to the walls and floor. Six massive pillars surrounded it, and inside each floated a figure — humanoid, twitching in rhythm with the crystal's pulse.

[📍 CORE NODE LOCATED.]

[Type: Proto-Consciousness Repository]

[⚠️ ACCESS: FORBIDDEN]

[SECURITY CLASSIFICATION: ALIEN / LOST CODE]

Kael stepped forward.

"So this is what you didn't want me to see."

As his hand reached out, the temperature dropped. The ground trembled. Pressure slammed into him like gravity had been rewritten.

[UNAUTHORIZED INTERACTION DETECTED.]

[ENGAGING JUDGE PROTOCOL...]

From beneath the platform, the floor split open.

Something rose.

It wasn't a machine. Not entirely. Not anymore.

A tall, burning form made of pure code and flickering fragments — human in shape, but faceless. Limbs formed of shattered data. A presence that felt absolute.

[⚖️ ENTITY DEPLOYED: SOVEREIGN JUDGE]

[CLASS: SYSTEM GUARDIAN / DIVINE]

[POWER: ✴️ UNKNOWN]

[DIRECTIVE: DELETE THE ERROR.]

Kael's system pinged hard.

[⚡ GLITCHFORM: Adaptive Evolution Triggered]

[Analyzing Foreign Core Energy…]

[Skill Acquired: Null Field (Lv. 0)]

[Passive Gained: Immune to Divine Law – Fragmented ⚠️]

He stood firm, eyes gleaming, pressure crushing him from all sides.

"I'm not here to follow your rules," he said. "I'm here to break them."

The Sovereign lunged.

Kael didn't dodge.

He absorbed.

The impact hit like a falling sun — but bent, twisted, and collapsed into Kael's core. He devoured it.

[❗ SYSTEM ERROR: Feedback Detected.]

[Subject is consuming law-based energy...]

The Sovereign froze.

Kael grinned.

"Oh… you're scared now, aren't you?"
