Chapter 3 Rumba Pirates
York nodded and was about to agree when Brook, standing beside him, spoke up first, "We're pirates, kid. Aren't you afraid?"
Barn's smile froze. "Pirates?" He spun around, then broke into a run.
"Just pretend I didn't say anything. Just pretend I didn't see you. Let me go!" Barn shouted as he ran, wondering how unlucky he was. After two weeks of living as a savage, he finally saw someone, and it was a murderous pirate!
"Hey! Brook! Look at you!" York reached out, jumped off the boat, and chased after Barn. "Barn, kid, don't be afraid.
We're not bad people!" Barn ignored him and just kept running. But with the body of a child, how could he outrun a grown man like York? Soon, Barn was caught under York's ribs and brought back.
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!" The crew laughed at Barn's commotion.
York put his hand on Barn's little shoulder and said, "Barn, kid, we in the Rumbar Pirates are all people who yearn for freedom. The most common people on our ship are musicians!"
Barn was stunned for a moment, "Rumbar Pirates? Why do you look so familiar? He just said that there was a guy named Brook on the ship? Oh my god, this is the world of One Piece!"
"York, why aren't you dead yet!" Barn's blurt-out words made everyone on the ship frown. Whose naughty kid is this? How could he curse someone to death right away!
Barn immediately realized that the atmosphere was wrong and quickly laughed it off.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I heard from the sailors on the original ship that you were dead. I was sad for you for a long time. It's great that you are not dead. Please save me!" Barn bowed and said with such sincerity that people couldn't bear to refuse. But at this time, Barn was muttering in his heart,
"Oh, it's too early, too early! 50 years too early! Roger is still unknown, let alone becoming the Pirate King. By the time Luffy goes to sea, I will be in my fifties or sixties. What's the point of playing!"
York laughed when he heard what Barn said, and the crew members also laughed, which eased the embarrassment just now. York put his hand on Barn's head and pressed it, "Don't worry, kid, follow us! Where are you going?"
"It hurts, he must be taking revenge on me for cursing him to death just now! Small-minded!" Barn thought so in his heart, but he said, "Captain York, my family died in that shipwreck, I can't go anywhere, just let me stay on the ship!" After that, he hugged York's thigh, kept wiping his nose and tears, and a big drop of sweat flowed down York's face.
"Okay, okay, kid, let go first!" York pushed Barn away, raising his arms and shouting, "Hey guys, we've got a new friend! What should we do?" "Sing and dance!" "Hahahaha, what are we waiting for!"
"Yo-ho-ho!"
Barn, probably feeling the stimulation of his single life for the past two weeks, quickly blended in and started singing along loudly, "Yo-ho-ho!"
In the captain's cabin,
Brook and York drank and stared out the window. There was Barn's tiny figure.
"Yo-ho-ho, what do you think?"
"What?" York put down his glass and stared at Brook.
"His left hand..." York interrupted Brook's words.
"I sense the same aura as a devil fruit there, but it doesn't seem to be a fruit ability, more like a curse."
Brook's composure faltered. "So, he's seen a real devil?"
York smiled. "Who knows?" He looked out the window again. Brook also followed York's gaze and saw Barn who was laughing heartily. At this time, a pirate next to Barn got drunk and slipped.
A wine glass flew into the sky and fell right on Barn's head. But just when Brook said "Oh no", Barn took a step forward and avoided the falling glass. "Really, be careful!" Barn complained.
Brook was stunned, pointing his finger at him and looking at York. "How is it possible, his eyes..." But he saw York's face with an even wider smile. "Amazing boy," York said with a smile. "Brooke!"
"Ah?" Brook turned his head and looked at York.
"I'll leave him to your care, Brook."
"What!"
