The wind pushed against her, her eyes were shut, her limbs flailed.
Mila Rose shot her eyes open, she clutched the diamond broadsword in her right hand. Her eyes darted around everywhere, she asked herself where she was, why was she in free fall? Then, like a truck crashing into her, the three of them, Lady Harribel and the latest addition to Aizen's army Ben Tennyson the lecherous bastard. All ventured here to the southern region of Hueco Mundo on a mission given to them Gin, then the trouble started and where she found herself was a dark abyss that seemed to have no end.
She attempted to gather reishi underneath her feet to create a foot hold in an attempt to steady her fall. Sadly it seemed that there was a lack of reishi present to even pull of the ability, Mila gritted her teeth as she drew out her zanpakuto sheathed the diamond one then launched a crimson energy projectile below herself.
If she could not fly by manipulating reishi she would just take advantage of the force from her explosions to propel herself. However the push back never came. The light from the attack became ever distant to the extent that she couldn't even see a speck of the attack's crimson light.
"Crap, I might actually be stuck falling here forever." Her hope felt as though it was being swallowed by the abyss itself; she could tell that whatever was producing light for her before was leaving as it became a hassle to even see her hands. She had to periodically shout out a cero blast to keep the darkness at bay, the logical part of Mila to her it was an exercise in futility, however each time she thought like that she would grip her broadsword even harder with two hands and fire a bigger blast of energy.
"Sung-sun, Apacci, Lady Harribel wait for me, I'm not done yet!" She launched a bigger and more powerful cero blast, she could not give up or give in she was one of the top Fracción in Las Noches. She was her lady's subordinate, she was Sung-sun and Apacci's sister in arms. She would be a disappointment to everyone she cared for if she gave in so she kept on firing off blasts.
...
Hours, no days, maybe months?
Mila could not tell anymore time lost meaning in the abyss she still held her sword even as her hands began to bleed she never used her Resurrección she worried about the possibility that she might need it and not have it. She felt like it wanted to rip itself apart, the constant pressure caused by her fall and her use of cero blasts repeatedly took its toll on her as she felt her eyelids become heavier.
She tried her best no one can fault her for that, right?
"Mila!" Her lady's voice is the voice of the person who saved her from a life of solitude and fear. A faint smile crossed her face, she felt happy having heard it in her final moments.
"Mila! Wake up!" She was up in an instant as below her she saw a red light, as she fell, she could make out the image of her lady.
"Lady Harribel!" That was all it took. She did not know why, but she instantly fired a cero from behind herself and used the small force to propel herself forward. Combined with her downward momentum, Mila flew with great speed and before she knew it Harribel's hand grabbed hers and she felt herself being pulled.
She found herself in the arms of the third Espada. Her touch felt like being cradled by the sun, she held her tight as if she was afraid that if Mila slipped out of her grasp then she would disappear.
That warm and comforting feeling did not last long though as Mila felt as though her body was being crushed by her leader's strength.
"L-lady H-Harribel my bones-"Mila Rose attempted to enlighten her Espada. Who quickly let go after she heard her subordinates cry.
"Mila!" The voices of her two sistersin arms reached her ears, but before Mila could even lift a limb the two of them jumped atop of her and gave her a firm hug while they sobbed.
"Damn it look at what you've done you big dummy! Look at me, I'm a mess." Apacci spoke through teary eyes.
"Do you understand how concerned we were for you?! You dumb brute." Sung-sun tried and failed to keep her elegant demeanor, Mila looked around herself confused about their current whereabouts. She looked towards her leader Harribel who simply jabbed her thumb to the massive creature behind herself.
Said creature had a red shell with several barnacle-like holes on its back and arms, its skin was green, while its torso was covered in a yellow plating. Its two antennas had a blue energy constantly moving between them, the colour of the antenna was the same as its eyes and what gave away the creature's identity was the hourglass symbol on the forehead.
'Huh, maybe he's not so bad.' The tall dark skinned arrancar fell asleep in the next moment as well as her fellow Fracción.
...
Later the green eyed young man recovered from his exhaustion and immediately got to work as soon as he saw the three slumbering arrancar using his plant alien WildVine to make a makeshift bed for them to rest out of shrubs. As well as create wood for fire to chase away the darkness that surrounded them, which just left him and the beautiful Espada alone by the fire.
An awkward silence pervaded the area as the young man internally panicked.
'Did I just fly into full mom mode?! Maybe Kevin was right- no he's never right those are dangerous thoughts.' Panic gave way to contemplation as Ben adopted a thinking man pose as he tried to recall every case where he should have told his once enemy now best friend he was right.
"Stop thinking it seems like your brain will explode if you do it too long." Harribel joked she seemed unbothered by their current situation.
"Ha, yeah you're not the first person to tell me that. However, in my defense I hang around super geniuses and time warping teachers so I have the right." Ben attempted to also bring in his own brand of levity.
"Hmm, haha, ok now I can't tell if you are being serious anymore or trying to see how gullible I am." Ben felt his heart skip, he wondered why he felt so infatuated with the woman, he wondered if this is what people talk about when they refer to love at first sight.
"No, I'm being completely serious, imagine getting lectured on theoretical physics by a little frog and being completely lost while he. I might prefer that over the world hopping professor breaking into my house and stealing my coffee." Harribel giggled at Ben's frustration towards his mentors, his eyes however drifted down the currently sat down woman to her abdomen. His eyes lingered on her hollow hole, Starrk told him what those holes represent for each arrancar something they lost or lacked.
The young man's eyes might have lingered for too long as the woman placed a hand over the hole that took the place of her womb.
"I wish I could tell you what I lost for this accursed thing to be here, sadly I cannot. Perhaps it has something to do with my aspect of death, sacrifice." Harribel looked to the side over at the three sleeping arrancar her eyes became soft and a tad bit remorseful. "Perhaps that is why I met them when I had, maybe they were the opposite, girls who lost their mothers or something similar. I won't lie seeing you being able to do that for them without a second however made me feel a tad bit jealous." Harribel seemed to have a sad smile underneath her face.
Ben stood up and looked down at Harribel. "You can't say that you are different. We lived different lives, saw the world and everything else through these eyes we have. You went through this place for who knows how long by your lonesome until you met the girls. I'm sure to them you are more than just a leader you're their mom. And that means you are family that goes beyond blood and any form, shape and species." He thought this over as he heard her talk, she saw herself as unworthy due to having something that might have signified a ugly past and he could not let her think like that.
He had to carry the omnitrix, the arc of his home universe for sentient life. There was good in the device, however it's potential as a weapon could not be overlooked. Blood was spilt over it as it crossed the stars on it's way towards Earth meant for his grandfather, but ended up in his hands every drop of blood that was spilt in the name of having it's power was on Ben's head.
That hardened his resolve as a hero and made his desire for that world where everyone could accept and laugh about their differences ever stronger.
"Harribel, after everything is said and done with this war with the soul reapers what do you want?" Harribel had to admit Ben had more conviction in him than she gave him credit for, her goal after the war was something she had thought of as soon as she became an Espada. It was a simple one ever since she met Mila, Sung-sun and Apacci as Adjuchas.
"I want to take over Hueco Mundo and ensure that peace reigns over this place, we need to find a way to stop the constant killing and consumption of one another." Harribel said all the resolve she could muster and that seemed to bring a smile to Ben's face.
"That's great so after those three wake up we'll start figuring out a way back home." Ben received a nod in conformation.
...
Later on the fire expanded and the three Fracción were up, Ben gave them a look over after he realized he never did before because of his own fear of his safety and the battle shortly after.
Apacci reminded Ben of a typical tomboy. She had dark hair, her mask remnant was on her head with a horn on it. She had heterochromia. One eye was sky blue the other was amber with a ring around it, she had the standard arrancar uniform on except for the shoulder length sleeves and bracelets which he assumed was her weapon.
Mila Rose, reminded the green eyed young man of an Amazonian from a Greek myth she was tall, muscular and had a sizable chest. Her mask fragments were the three part crown atop her head and necklace. In terms of clothing Mila wore a full set of white and black cloth or leather armor and white cape with yellow line within, her clothing deviated heavily from the standard arrancar uniform.
Sung-sun had flowing olive-green hair, long eyelashes, lavender eyes and three pink dots below her right eye. The remnants of her mask formed three hair clip-like protrusions on the right side of her hair. Her uniform was a long white dress with long sleeves that extended past her hands and opened up into a slit. She reminded Ben of ancient Chinese handmaids that he saw in old movies with Kevin and Rook.
"Um...Lady Harribel, if I may ask how did you all get here so quickly, also where is here?" Mila seemed to finally notice her current position: the ground beneath her was a white soil and not sand, everywhere she looked it was total darkness, not shadows that obscured everything around them; it was elemental darkness, the complete absence of light.
"Well honestly Mila, me and Ben were here together already. We think it has to do with the fact that we were the ones who destroyed the vines, maybe whatever made those things wanted to eat us." The golden haired woman simply shrugged. " Me and Ben then started to find out ways to track you all down, I can't open a Descorrer back to Las Noches. We tracked the rest down thanks to Ben over here turning into what was his name, Portaler?" Ben gave Harribel a thumbs up in response then she continued.
"From what we know spatial manipulation abilities are restricted here, however others still operate as usual, the problem lies in the fact we have no real idea on how to leave. For now the plan is to explore this place as much as we can, then we will try out some more...extreme methods." Harribel locked eyes with her Fracción and then glanced at a sheepish Ben, everyone gave their acknowledgement and agreement to her plan.
"Alright then let's move out then." The group's temporary camp was picked apart then they all set off into the abyss with their light source being a set of torches and the alien Heatblast.
...
Far away in the World of the Living in the small town Katakura.
An American muscle car painted in in dark blue colour rode the rain swept streets of the city while behind, on the vehicle's tail was a delivery van. Its bright orange cab gave off a warm and welcoming feeling which contrasted with aggressive and over-powering one of the cars ahead of it.
Both vehicles found their destination, a small convenience store, on the sigh board above the shop in Japanese characters. "Urahara's shop"
"It just had to rain today, the day we got here, and it's raining cats and dogs! I'm not going with that white coat for this one, I washed it yesterday too!" A young man who wore a trench coat exited the now parked blue muscle car as did a young woman from the passenger seat. Soon they were met by an extremely tall man from the delivery van.
"Haha, I get that it's not the best Kev, but it must be better than Ben blowing it up for the umpteenth time." The soft voice of the passenger of the American vehicle resounded which caused the distraught man to ponder. Above her head a pink disc floated and fought back the rain. While the owner of the van walked with them to the entrance of the convenience shop.
"I would take it as a blessing in disguise, the longer we stay away from Ben the less likely we need to repair either of our vehicles. Gwendolyn, is it alright if I may do the introductions?" The masculine and stoic voice of the extremally tall man who held an umbrella asked.
"Go ahead Rook." The young woman known as Gwendolyn gave her permission as the trio entered the shop, the interior of the shop was quite welcoming, lined with a few shelves that had sweets, magazines and others. The trio entered and placed their protective clothing to the side in an attempt to not drag in water.
"Ah, customers welcome to Urahara's shop how may I be of service." A gentleman who possessed very well defined muscles asked from his position behind the register.
"Oh, hello sir my name is Rook and these two are my friends Kevin and Gwendolyn we are looking for the owner of this establishment." Rook was a tall young man with tanned skin and hazel eyes; he wore a black turtle neck vest and pants that matched the colour of his eyes, as well as formal shoes.
Kevin gave off the appearance of an ex-trouble maker, he had an 'x' scar on his chin, and his ebony hair touched his shoulders. He wore a black leather jacket and blue jeans with work boots.
Gwendolyn had a soft spoken appearance as her auburn hair fell down her back like a curtain of sunlight. She wore violet purple trousers, a periwinkle blue flannel shirt and a coat that had the colour of nuts.
"Hey, hey did call for me." A blond man with a bucket hat walked out from the back of the store, before any thing could be said, however him and Kevin raised accusing fingers towards each other and screamed.
"That man is a con artist!"
