Max always had the tendency to smile like an evil warmonger whenever he was confident. For some reason it had stuck with him ever since he was a kid. He had always believed that he was weak, compared to others. Always thinking he was not talented in anything. But there were rare moments in his childhood where he felt like he was winning and stuff that made him feel like a king. Without control, unaware of it, he would always have a huge, creepy grin on his face. This was no different.
Max smiled as many of the dead fell from the fourth floor and hit the ground on their faces. Their faces were instantly squished, thanks to the force of gravity. Man didn't know if he had to count them as "dead", because something told him, that they already were. Max was also thinking about the possibility that these were controlled zombies, against their will, which hit a dent on his conscience. He didn't wanna hurt them, but he had no choice. After all, this was self defense.
Some of the zombies could still stand up, thanks to the fallen zombies acting as cushions to the newer ones jumping. But thankfully, they were all fully spread out. Max had enough space to punch them one by one.
As all the zombies started approaching him from all sides, Max started moving like an experienced basketball player. He was singing along to a song in his brain, especially to calm himself down, as even though he was confident he was terrified of zombies.
As they surrounded him, one of them was an arm's length away from him. Max easily punched him with his right. The glowing eyes of his easily saw the creeper on his left and in an instant he used his keft arm to strike its' head, landing a slash move with his forearm. And he realised that they were QUICK. He kept moving at a fast pace, dealing blows one after another, and somehow he had immense stamina, which he realised due to the fact that he wasn't tired.
Soon, a lot of them had converged in on him. And he heard the voice of another dude right above him.
Albert: I see, that is indeed a good move. I would've thought about it anyway though..
The so called Samurai smiled from above, while cutting a zombie near him. He then jumped above the railings aiming directly for the land. Max was scared cause he was a normal human, unlike Max. But then he realised that this was Albert. The infamous Samurai. So he left it to him, to manage the landing.
Albert twisted his body to face the pillar on his back and used his sword to cut into it. This reduced his speed, as many other zombies just went past him, most of them falling to their demise. Albert had done this exact move back in the Dome too, which Lin had also done.
As he neared the ground, Albert pulled out his sword from the pillar and jumped into the air, gracefully dodging the zombie rain. He then spun fiercely in the air, while pointing the tip of his sword to the ground below him. Max realised what he was about to do, and ran a safe distance.
Albert: Dionys Impact!!
Albert screamed as the point of the sword touched the ground and cracks spread all over the floor. Max jumped into the air and even stepped on a passing zombie, using its' shoulder as a foothold. As soon as ge jumped, tremors passed around, somehow trapping the dead under the cracks. Max also landed safely next to him.
???: No no no....this isn't good....+!!!! Why would you dooooo that!!!!!!
A voice echoed above him. The voice of course belonged to the porcupine man, and he looked terribly annoyed. It was almost like a child crying when his toy gets broken.
???: That sword....couldn't be...?? Are you the new Samurai??!?!??!
The man asked, still invisible to them. The number of zombies had reduced, and it looked like he was finally running out of them.
???: Looks like you are pretty strong, young Samurai!! I don't know who your partner is, but he seems pretty weak, always dodging like a mouse.
Max: Heyyy!!
Max was angry that he didn't get the recognition he deserved.
Albert: Don't let him rile you up. Focus.
Max: I seriously don't need a yoga class from you now..
Albert: What is Yoga..?
Max: Never mind...
Max realised that the zombie have surrounded them again. So he raised his arm. And pointed it at the incoming dead creatures.
Max: Starman!!
A new star emerged from his palm and flew towards the zombies. Their eyes started to look yellow, reflecting the immense ever increasing light. And in a second, it exploded, burning and killing everyone on his side. Albert smiled, knowing he was struck with one of those a few hours ago.
Albert: You used such a powerful attack on me??
Max: Give me a break. That was my first time+! Anyways, you are stronger than the zombies. That's why you are alive..
???: Woah woah woah woah!!!! You tooooo????
The man in the speaker was honestly surprised.
Albert: Max, bend down.
Max happily obliged. He looked at Albert winding his sword back, and the red gem glowing. He then muttered something.
Albert: Cyclone Slash....
With a single whisper he spun his blade horizontally and cut the air in a circle. All around them, each and every zombie stood still. Their heads then disconnected from their bodies and flew into the air. With a single attack, Albert had taken care of all of them..
Max: Hell yeah!!
Albert: We must hurry...
Max nodded, and the Samurai put his sword back in the sheath dramatically, wiping out the blood from the blade.
They both started running towards the huge gate in the hallway. It felt like it was leading to something.
???: That's not fair!!! You are coming to me already..?? And two of you?? I hate it!!!!
Max and Albert ignored the man completely and kept running. As they reached the gate, Albert cut it with a single slash, and Max punched it with his left arm, making it fall almost ten meters away.
There was a spiral staircase on the left and another pathway on the right. The only option was to split away. But both didn't want that. Instead they both started running on the stairs.
They finally reached another floor. The hall there was pretty dark, with floating candles as the only source of light. As they kept running, they saw a Cyclops monster ahead of them. It was rushing in. Albert stepped forward and used an air slash. But nothing happened to the semi-solid ghastly monster.
Albert: What the...?
Max: Move...this is my speciality!!
Max ran faster ahead of him, and used his palm to summon a supernova.
Max: Close your eyes.....Blinding Lights!!
Albert just kept running as he was blindfolded. The light hit the monster and it vanished from their presence.
Albert: Good job!! But why call it Blinding Lights, when there is a single light??
Max: You wouldn't get it..
Max and Albert finally arrived at another tower. It was a small one, covered in what looked like spider webs.
???: Welcome....you are finally here...
This time too, the person behind the voice was not visible...
Max: Stop being such a scaredy cat, and show yourself dumbass!!
Max shouted hoping for an answer..
??: And what? Take on mere insects like you..? That is degrading to my status..
Max grunted in anger. And then Albert pointed at something.
Albert: I can hear heartbeats from there...
Max looked at that and it finally caught his eye. Dangling in the webs were Melissa, Lin and Chuck. They were tied up, even their mouths. All three of them looked unconscious.
Albert: What is it...? Who are there they??
Max: Oh for Gods' sake, remove that blindfold!!!
Max shouted. And then they heard the sound of metal clanking.
Ahead of them was a door. And from that door, they saw a silhouette of a huge man. It was the same monstrosity that had accompanied the porcupine guy in the missing village. He was dragging a chain, which was connected to an axe, as he walked towards them.
???: Cwome on....I vill take yuu onnnn!!!
