Chapter 1 - Chapter One

Natalie Green was born in to the Carmani Pack . She didn't get a choice in the matter. But every since she had been old enough to know her place in the pack she had also known she would do anything to get out of it. Her place in the pack was that of an omega. She was looked down upon by her peers, bullied and beaten and starved. Her parents had died, under mysterious circumstances, when she was just a young girl. She had been taken in by the Luna and Alpha and raised with their children Alexis and Levi until she was old enough to "pay her dues". That's how the Alpha and Luna had explain it to her. She would no longer be their burden to take care of and she would be expected to take care of herself. They meant it cruelly Natalie was sure. But the joke was on them. Natalie was happy not to be living with the same proximity as them and their evil children. To her it was a relief. Growing up the Luna and Alpha constantly reminded her that she was an unnecessary burden. Their children took turns tormenting her both at home and in school. They would even have their friends join in on the torment. They would always remind her that she was the orphan that nobody wanted, who lived off of them and their parents. Especially since her parents "got their stupid selves killed". They would punch and kick her and throw her down. It was so bad that she had bruises and scars all over her body from their abuse. Natalie had been thirteen when they decided to kick her out of their home and make her stay in one the servants cabins by herself. The cabin was exactly how someone might imagine them to be. It was a one room wooden cabins with holes in the ceiling and floors. A two burner camping stove tha stood on a shaky stand table, a green refrigerator that looked like it was from the nineteen-sixtys and a cheap, used and slightly rusted sink made up the kitchen area . The bathroom area consisted of a tub and a toilet. There was enough room for a small bed in one end of the cabin and a small, broken down, love seat and a gnarled up coffee table at the other end of the cabin. It was a small cabin with many issues. But it was hers. So Natalie didn't mind it issues. To her they were easy to fix. For her it was a better home then the one she had came from. She was the only one who stayed in the cabins. Everyone else stayed in the pack house, away from her. Even the other maids and servants. That suited her just fine. She was isolated from everyone else purposely. But she didn't care and it hadn't hurt her feelings like that had hoped. She enjoyed her privacy, as well as the peace and quiet. It was her escape from the pack and their abuse. She still went to school. But it had went from five days a week to three days a week. She was expected to be a maid for the Luna and Alpha and their demon spawns and wait on them hand and foot all day long on the days she didn't have school. On the days she did have school she still had to wait on them hand and foot. But just not for as long. She didn't have to endure their comments or their snide remarks as much. And she didn't have to endure their beatings because they thought she looked at them in a way they didn't like. Natalie tried to make the best of her situation until she turned eighteen and then she could leave this miserable pack with its worthless Alpha and Luna and their evil spawns and the rest of the useless pack behind her and start over with a new life somewhere else. Thankful her waiting and patience paid off and her eighteenth birthday was only a few days away. She couldn't wait. There was nothing holding her to the pack.

On the day before her birthday Natalie has snuck into the kitchen of the pack house amd gathered what she could to make her a small birthday meal and a small cake. She had to sneak because she was only fed when she was allowed amd she was only allowed if the Luna and Alpha felt like she had earned her keep. Which maybe happened twice a week if she was lucky. She would take what they gave her and squirrel it a way and only eat a little at a time so that she could make it last for a few days, because she never knew when she would get fed next. She was at the whim and mercy of the Luna and Alpha. And when it came to her they were barely merciful at all. And she showed it. She was five feet, six inches tall and she looked like a scarecrow. He blonde hair was dull, her skin was pale and a little sunken in. She had bright blue eyes like her parents. But they didn't shine like the used to. Like before her parents died. Her clothes were loose fitting and almost fell of her at times. She used a cut up rope as a belt to keep her pants up around her waist. Her shoes and socks had holes in them. They were from other pack members, where they had thrown them away and Natalie rescued them from the trash. The day of her birthday was her one day off. She hid in the cabin all day. And when supper time came, she cooked her small meal and her small cake and ate it. It was much, but to her it was better than nothing. Then she cleaned up her mess and took a quick bath, got dressed in her night gown and went to bed quite early. She would be putting her idea of leaving the pack into motion the next day. She was excited. She would be leaving and no one could or would stop her. A calm relief washed over her. There was no one she loved that she was leaving behind. So their was no guilt in her leaving.
