The main currency used in the Kingdom of the Sun God Ewon is a sort of shell like currency. They come from creatures named Sewoks that are very easy to catch and multiply quickly and in great numbers. The rarer the species of Sewoks, the more expensive the shells are. As time progressed, the rarer species began to be found less and less, leading to the Kingdom's production of the artificial shells. The value differs by the color in the following ascending order: Brown, Green, Blue, Red, Purple, Pink, Orange, and then Turquoise. Green is like a 1$ bill, with Blue being 5$, Red 10$, Purple 20$, Pink 50$, Orange 100$, and Turquoise being worth any amount from 1000-10,000 depending on the size.
All the shells are the same size except for Brown and Turquoise ones. A Turquoise Shell is like a diamond, whereas the other's value depends on the colors, a Turquoise Shell may hide abilities as well as being larger than the rest.
Brown shells are sort of like cents, with the term being "half a shell" "quarter of a shell" and "tenth of a shell". They're divided by what they sound like. Brown shells are unique in a way where they grow smaller than other shells, belonging to the smallest and most common Sewoks. They're rather hard to put watermarks on though, given their size, which is why the government began using magic to mark them.
Sewok species aren't given different names, but referred to as "Brown", "Red", "Blue", and so on. The only Sewok shells that aren't being produced artificially are the Turquoise Shells, as no one has been able to replicate the aura of magic that appears around it, nor the abilities it's able to grant.
The average wage for someone in the middle class would be one Purple, one Red, and one Pink a Won. So 80 Green Shells, or 80$. A Won is an hour, as they name their days "Ewon" so a fragment of the day gets boiled down to Won. The middle class can either have enough money to fall back on but live uncomfortably, or can live comfortably but will have trouble if a crisis happens.
The average for an upper class resident would be 150 Green Shells a Won. So one orange and one Pink. They're able to live comfortably, and have enough money to fall back on in case of crisis.
The lower class makes anything below the middle class's wage. They live uncomfortably, if they have a place to live, and will ultimately be in peril if a crisis is to happen.
The government is the only legal producer of artificial shells, and the King possesses the Vault, which houses the majority of Turquoise Shells that have been found.
