Markus strided towards the three girls he had teamed up with, they seemed to have taken a plot space for themselves a bit far away from the others as he had suggested with a fire at the centre to warm themselves up.
" Girls." He greeted, quickly getting their attention as they stared up at him with not the same wariness as they initially had when they met.
" Markus." Munroe greeted back.
" I'll be leaving for a bit, I'll be going with Clarke's group to get some supplies for the rest of us at Mount Weather." He told them, getting their attention as they perked in attention.
" C-can we come?" Harper finding the courage asked looking hopeful.
Hearing that he shook his head after a bit of thinking. He knew that they wouldn't reach Mount Weather, even if this was an alternate universe and things had somewhat changed, getting there was an impossibility due to not only the grounders but also the mountain men.
He didn't want to put the three in any danger for now, they would be more useful staying in the camp and being his eyes and ears than what probably awaited them in the forest.
" Sorry, but no." He told them, making the girls shrink into themselves a bit.
" It's not that I don't want to bring you with me, God knows we'll probably need the extra manpower for the supplies but for now I need you here." He said placatingly. He didn't want them to hold grudges over him after all.
" What use are we here?" Munroe asked, a bit doubtful as she looked up at him.
" Well for one, I need more people to join us if we're gonna survive here long enough for the Ark to descend." He stated." So I have a job for you all..."
And after that he began telling him of his plans for them, of gathering a group with capable enough people to keep them safe and of their task of finding anyone in the 100 that was capable of useful enough for them to join them.
Minutes later he knew that he had their support and they didn't seem stuck up on not joining them, Social Talent [3] helping him out on that endeavour and getting them all in on his plans.
He also gave them some small tasks, like looking around for seeds and fruits but told them to not eat anything before he was back after telling them of his ability— which he said was plant manipulation(Nature's Forge), not telling them of his other abilities, Nature's Forge would be the ability he showed due to its utility and versatility and it served well as a smokescreen while also making him more valuable to everyone's eyes.
On the topic of abilities though they also shared their own abilities information, or what they knew of them before spiralling down where they started theorising on how they obtained their abilities or why— of course they all came to the same conclusion or theory, that being that the radiation had done something to them.
And for the little time that he had, he found himself enjoying talking with the girls and even the shy meek Charlotte found herself opening up to them.
But when it was time to finally meet up with the others he bid them farewell, wishing them good luck on the tasks he had assigned them.
While walking off his mind drifted back to the girls, or to be more specific, the girls abilities.
Starting from the first member of their group, Charlotte, had shadow manipulation to an extent and she said that she felt like she could hide inside them if she focused enough.
A versatile ability, one that would be great if she could train in stealth arts. He would have to look deeper on those plans later when he had the means to act on them.
Harper got a useful ability too, allowing her not only the ability to manipulate water but even sense bodies of water around her, her task was to mark any water source close to the dropships until I returned.
Then there was Munroe, the feisty short brunette. She obtained the ability to wield any weapon and use it as if she had been training at it for years. The weapon's she could wield wasn't only cold weapons but even hot weapons such as guns and the like, so long as she could hold it she was an expert at using it.
Markus made a note to regularly spar with her when he came back, Sword Talent[3] needed stimulation and having one who already knew sword combat to learn from even if it was only instinctual would increase the rate of which he learnt by a lot than simply by trial and error.
So after briefing them, with the few minutes he had left he walked around searching around the dropship and not even a moment later he squatted down and grabbed a slender plate of debris from the dropship that had torn off and after that he grabbed a smaller piece before going off to join Clarke.
He found them waiting for him a bit away from the ship.
" Okay, I'm ready, let's get moving before sundown." He said, getting everyone's attention.
" Finally, took you long enough." Wells commented, a frown clear on his face.
" Hey, perfection takes time to achieve." He retorted with a snort." You wouldn't know a lick of that though, seeing as how you still carry yourself with that smug infuriating face of yours."
"*Snort.*
Wells eyes popped, his anger at the comment further fuelled when Monty, Jasper and even Octavia started snorting behind him.
And before Wells could even comment, Clarke put a hand on his shoulder silencing him immediately while staring at Wells like an authority figure to him." Okay, enough you too."
Clarke then looked back at Markus with a tired look that almost seemed to say ' Really?'. Markus of course simply smiled back at her, giving her an innocent dismissive shrugg that surprisingly enough had her crack a small smile before she turned and took lead.
" You can get back on your dick measuring competition after we are back from Mount Weather." Clarke told them jokingly.
Markus hearing that just couldn't help it, a part of him whispering right into his ear to take a shot at Wells at every opportune moment.
" Hah! Of please, you out of all people knows that I'd win by a landslide." Markus said, not missing that Clarke almost missed a step before walking off, pretending as if she didn't even hear the comment.
But the others heard it.
Monty and Jasper kept peeking glances at them, amusement clear in their eyes while Octavia kept grinning from ear to ear, her eyes staring a bit too long at him.
Finn though watched all this with a smile, taking everything in stride but making no sign to comment while staying close to Octavia.
Wells was the outlier, balling his hands with clear hate in his eyes before rushing off, tailing Clarke like the good dog he was.
' Hah, pussy.' Markus thought, finding that he was enjoying tormenting the boy even if those feelings hadn't really originated from him.
