Dark clouds churned violently as howling winds swept across the sky.
Towering waves dozens of meters high crashed relentlessly against the shore, reducing coastal villages to splinters in an instant. All that remained were broken wooden beams bobbing helplessly in the raging waters.
Armageddon!
The scene before them looked like the literal end of the world!
Atop the cliffs overlooking the coast, several figures emerged.
Leading them was a woman with long, wavy auburn hair.
Clad in the silver-gray uniform of the ANBU, her forehead protector marked her as a shinobi of Kirigakure. Her emerald-green eyes scanned the thunderous sky before shifting to the panicked civilians scrambling for safety.
*Thud.*
Without hesitation, she leapt off the cliff, landing effortlessly on the churning sea. Her hands flew through a rapid series of hand seals.
Water Release: Water Pillar!
Whoosh!
The water beneath her feet surged upward, forming a massive explosive sphere over ten meters wide before hurtling toward the oncoming tsunami.
BOOM!
The two forces collided with a deafening crash.
Thanks to her and her comrades' efforts, the tsunami was momentarily halted. But this was only a temporary reprieve—the violent weather showed no signs of stopping, and disaster loomed.
The woman clearly understood this. Without missing a beat, she barked orders: "Ao, take Ishihara and evacuate the civilians!"
"But Lady Mei, if you stay here—" Ao's face twisted with concern.
"Enough talk." Mei Terumī shot him a glare. "We took this mission as rescuers. Saving lives comes first!"
"Understood." Ao nodded before vanishing with his comrade.
The moment they left, Mei and the remaining shinobi formed another set of hand seals, conjuring a mirror-like barrier to buy time.
CRACKLE—BOOM!
The storm raged on, waves crashing violently as thunder roared overhead.
Against the raw fury of nature, human strength had its limits!
Soon, exhaustion set in.
The pristine barrier began to fracture, groaning under the strain.
Mei gritted her teeth, rain and sweat streaming down her temples.
"Mission accomplished, Lady Mei." Ao reappeared, voice low. "The civilians have been relocated to safety. We can withdraw."*
"Fall back."
The instant she gave the order, the barrier shattered.
WHOOSH!
Seawater flooded in, swallowing the coastline whole.
"What a terrifying disaster..." Ao muttered, watching the devastation with a grimace. "Just when Kirigakure was finally getting back on its feet..."
"Look on the bright side," Mei chuckled dryly, scanning the area. "I'd take a natural disaster over Kirigakure's old bloody ways any day. Is everything handled? Any other survivors?"
"Yes. A fleet is trapped in the southern coastal waters," Ishihara reported.
'You idiot!'
Ao shot him a death glare, whispering sharply, "It's not one of ours—they're from the Land of Waves. And the waves there are even worse. Even we would struggle to get close!"
He didn't want Lady Mei risking her life. If anything happened to her, not only would Elder Genji skin him alive, but the village would suffer an irreplaceable loss.
But Mei Terumī was nothing if not stubborn.
"Wait here," she declared. "I'll check it out."
"But Lady Mei, you—"
"The Hidden Mist Village is entering an era of peace and openness. Building goodwill with neighboring nations is essential!"
With that, she took off across the water toward the southern coast.
As Ao had warned, the closer she got to the open sea, the fiercer the waves became.
Even when she spotted the distant fleet—ropes lashing the ships together as they swayed violently—she couldn't get close.
A raging tempest had formed a natural barricade, separating her from the ships like an impenetrable wall.
Mei clenched her jaw, chakra surging through her body.
She would break through!
At this point, it wasn't just about saving lives—she refused to let this damn storm win!
Hands moving with effort, she formed the seals, and a water dragon erupted beneath her feet.
*ROAR!*
The dragon slammed into the storm barrier, propelling her toward the fleet.
'Ha! I'm a genius!'
A triumphant grin spread across Mei's face—she was downright proud of this brilliant idea.
Then—
CRASH!
A monstrous wave rose up and smacked her down like a fly.
"DAMN IT!"
She cursed, helpless as the force sent her flying backward.
Just as she was about to plunge into the sea, a hand suddenly grabbed the back of her collar, yanking her to a stop.
"Huh?!"
She turned her head—and found herself staring into the face of a strikingly handsome young man. Dressed in white, he wore dorky black-rimmed glasses, yet his entire being exuded an otherworldly elegance she'd never seen before.
"On behalf of the fleet, I thank you for your rescue efforts," he said softly.
"Who… are you?"
Mei blinked, then suddenly realized how ridiculous she must look—dangling from his grip like a scruffed kitten. Not exactly dignified!
But she couldn't exactly ask him to put her down—they were currently suspended in midair.
Wait—no.
More accurately, he was standing effortlessly on nothing, while she was just… an accessory.
This realization only deepened the mystery surrounding him.
Flight-based jutsu were rare in the shinobi world, but standing on air like it was solid ground? She hadn't even heard of such a thing!
What Mei didn't know was that the young man currently holding her was wrestling with an internal dilemma.
Before him, a golden-bordered interface appeared:
[Choose.]
[1. Have her call you the "Seduction Demon of the Shinobi World."]
[2. Tell her your name is "Itchy Buttcheeks."]
[3. Introduce yourself and invite her to your nude beach party tonight.]
After a brief pause, Yuto took a deep breath and spoke:
"Seduction Demon."
"What?" Mei's jaw dropped.
"You may call me… the Seduction Demon of the Shinobi World."
'God, kill me now.'
[Congratulations! You have acquired the Boil Release Kekkei Genkai!]
"The… Seduction Demon?" Mei's eye twitched. She had so many questions.
"HAHAHAHA—I CAN'T!" Kushina, inside the Spirit Pearl, was wheezing with laughter.
"Don't worry. This'll be over soon." Still holding Mei with one hand, Yuto drew his blade with the other.
"Wait, what are you—"
Before she could finish, he swung.
SHIIING!
The sound of tearing fabric echoed across the sea.
The ocean split cleanly in two. The typhoon-like winds dissolved into nothing.
Not just that—
The dark clouds above were sliced apart, sunlight spilling onto the now-calm waters like liquid gold.
Mei's brain short-circuited.
She gaped, utterly dumbstruck, as if trapped in some absurd dream.
