Ironically, despite scoring a knockdown in the sixth round, the red corner is not in the mood to celebrate.
Redmond and the rest of his team watch Kenta's corner in silence, their earlier confidence replaced by grim expressions.
"I wasn't prepared for this, Redmond." Declan admits it quietly, his earlier irritation gone, his voice carrying a newfound humility. "This isn't what I saw in his previous fights. He's never fought like this in his entire career."
They may have repeatedly told the media that Kenta was never a serious opponent in their eyes, but that doesn't mean they neglected their professional duties.
Declan and his team have studied every one of Kenta's professional fights, and none of them prepared him for what he just experienced in the sixth round.
For once, Declan has no room left for arrogance. He can only acknowledge the reality standing before him.
