And behind her… the sorcerer.
Lara's breath caught. Even without his hood, she recognized his face, some of her memories had finally returned.
"It's you," she whispered.
The sorcerer tilted his head, his eyes cold and curious.
"Moonguard," he said softly. "Awake at last.
Lara looked around the room.
A single high window barely let in the light. Chains hung from iron hooks, swaying gently. Rotting straw covered the floor, and a cracked basin sat next to a wooden bowl with scraps of food.
The female guard in leather stood near the door. A nervous young girl hovered beside her.
Lara pushed herself up on her elbows, her muscles shaking with exhaustion.
"Let me go," she said, "or I'll burn this whole place down."
Eryn laughed.
"Burn?" he repeated. "You can barely stand. And you threaten me?"
