Draven's lips curved into a faint smile.
"Come," he said, stepping aside. "Let us have breakfast first. There is much to see and a lot to hear."
Lara exchanged a quick glance with Kael, who gave her a subtle nod.
The Duke led them down a hallway lined with tapestries that depicted battles and grand feasts, scenes from a time long past. Candles flickered in wall sconces, casting shadows that danced across the walls.
At the end of the corridor, they entered a warm, sunlit dining room. The table was already laid, adorned with fresh fruit, warm bread, steaming tea, and delicate pastries. Draven gestured toward the chairs.
"Sit," he said, "You honor me by dinning with me."
Lara hesitated only for a moment before sliding into her seat. Wanda settled beside her, her eyes scanning the room with a quiet vigilance, while Dorian took the seat opposite them.
