Gotham's skies churned with clouds, Arkham's sirens wailing, smoke rising. The Joker's laugh pierced the chaos, standing atop a flipped police car, green hair vivid. "Hahaha! Where's Batsy? I've got a new toy!"
He waved a remote, his gang trading fire with police. Poison Ivy's vines toppled cars, Bane ripped an armored vehicle apart, and Harley Quinn danced through bullets, bat swinging.
A shadow descended—Batman, cape billowing, kicking Harley's bat away. "Party's over," he growled.
"Batsy!" Joker spun, then froze as Clark, James, and Wanda landed above. Batman glanced up, eyes narrowing, but refocused on the fight.
Clark coughed awkwardly, but James stopped him. "Training's done. Time for practice." He nodded to Wanda.
Her lips curved, eyes gleaming. She floated, red hair dancing in her magic's aura, hands tracing circles. Scarlet energy flooded the battlefield.
"Hey! New hero?" Harley gaped, then froze, bound by scarlet tendrils. Joker's laugh stopped, his body locked. "What trick is this?!"
Ivy's vines withered, Bane's muscles useless against Wanda's magic. In seconds, villains were lined up like puppets, delivered to stunned police.
"Yours," Wanda said, dropping them. She waved, repairing cars, walls, and craters. Wonder Woman arrived, lasso in hand, staring. "Zeus above."
Batman watched silently, vanishing into shadows. Clark flew over. "Diana, meet James and Wanda, from a parallel universe."
Diana landed, sheathing her lasso, eyes curious. "Diana Prince, Amazon warrior. Honored. Wanda, your power's impressive."
Wanda blushed. "Just tricks."
"No tricks," Diana said sincerely. "Unique to this world."
Clark scanned the calming streets. "Not the place to talk. I know a good restaurant."
Ten minutes later, they sat in a upscale Gotham restaurant's private room. Diana ordered, suggesting dessert for Wanda. "So," she said, cutting steak, "you're Kryptonian like Clark?"
James nodded, summarizing his origins. Diana listened, intrigued. "The Amazons believe in multiverses, but never had proof."
Wanda savored chocolate cake. "This is amazing!" She paused, sheepish. "Sorry for interrupting."
Diana smiled. "Enjoy the food." To Wanda, "Your power's magic?"
"Chaos magic," Wanda said. "Reality alteration."
Diana mused. "Comparable to Olympian godforce."
Clark interjected, "James says they're here by accident. We could help them return."
"Zatanna or Doctor Fate could assist," Diana suggested. "They know dimensional travel."
"No need," James said. "Wanda can open the return portal. We're just exploring."
Diana grinned. "Meet the League! Barry'll geek out over parallel universes."
Clark's face fell. "Bruce… might skip the meetup."
Diana sighed. "Since Zod, he's withdrawn."
"More isolated," Clark added, bitter. "I'm sorry for what happened."
James caught their tone. "Batman distrusts Superman?"
They exchanged looks. Diana spoke. "Two years ago, Clark's fight with Zod wrecked Bruce's building, killing employees who couldn't escape. Three months later, Bruce found a prophetic mirror, showing fragments of a future where Clark turns dark, ruling Earth."
Wanda blinked. "That's absurd!"
Clark shook his head. "It's possible. My power…"
James laughed. "So Batman thinks the good Superman will become a tyrant?"
Diana nodded. "Bruce plans for the worst. But I know Clark's heart—he'd never."
Clark gave her a grateful look. The lights softened, dinner winding down. Diana checked her watch. "I've got business." She smiled. "Enjoy Gotham."
Wanda shook her hand. "Thanks for the dessert tip."
"Come to Themyscira," Diana winked. "I'll get you Greek sweets." She left gracefully.
Clark watched her go. "Need a place to stay?"
"We'll find a hotel," James said.
Clark smiled. "Gotham's rough. I'll recommend safe spots."
"You come here often?" Wanda asked.
"Sometimes help Bruce, though he's not keen on it now," Clark said, smiling faintly.
James chuckled. "We'll manage."
Clark hesitated, then handed James a card—Clark Kent, Daily Planet, with a small "S." "Call if you need me."
James pocketed it, amused at two Kryptonians exchanging cards. "Thanks. We'll tour tomorrow."
Clark nodded, waving as he left.
