"I can't believe you tried to pull a fast one on us!" Heather yells at me storming over.
"What the hell are you lot doing here?" The elder wolf asked.
"Shut up! You dare to let her try and make a plan to escape!? You were supposed to make sure she recovered! Not this!" Alexis says.
"She was doing better when she was making this plan so I figured it'd be best to let her be." He says.
"You were fucking wrong! What if she actually escaped?!" Heather exclaims.
"Congrats to her?" He says.
"What the fuck do you mean?!" Alexis demands.
"What the hell else am I supposed to say?" He asked.
"It should be obvious that her escaping isn't a good thing!" Heather says.
"For you. But for her it'd be amazing." He shrugs.
"You fucking mutt! Keep this up and I'll rip out your fucking throat!" Alexis warns.
I growled at her. I saw multiple wolves eyes widen on both sides.
"Stop fucking growling! He should be happy that we haven't killed him yet for how he acts!" Heather says.
I growl louder.
"That's her way of saying don't threaten." The elder wolf says smugly.
"Keep growling and we'll mark you here and now." Rava says.
I immediately stopped growling.
"Tch! Should have known you wouldn't risk it." She grumbles.
"What's going on!?" Rei says rushing in.
"You fucking mutt doctor! Were you trying to piss us off?!" Heather screams at Rei.
I don't know how I did it but I let out a sound that was like a bark and growl at the same time.
It not only made my throat and chest vibrate but it also shook the room.
Which got everyone to freeze and to look at me shocked. I was just as shocked. Rei rushed over with a tongue compressor.
She didn't even need to tell me to open up. As soon as she got closed I opened my mouth for her.
"What the hell did this doctor do?! If one of us or even the doctors we have tried to check her she would outright refuse or do so reluctantly! Why is so much more willing for her?!" Alexis whines.
"It doesn't look like your vocal cords were harmed and your throat seems normal." Rei says.
She went to get that one thing for heartbeats. She put it on and put it on my chest.
"Deep slow breaths." She instructs.
I obey immediately.
"Seriously are you just rubbing it in now?!" Heather huffs.
"Your lungs and heart beat sounds normal too." She says.
"Damn kid that was quite the noise." The elder wolf says.
"I wonder how you made it." Rei says applying pressure around my throat.
"Stop touching her already!" Alexis snaps.
"I'm just examining her." Rei sighs.
"Now's not the time for it. Right now we need to deal out a lot of punishments." Rava says.
"Punishments? For what may I ask?" Rei asks.
"For these mutts who thought they could escape." Heather says.
"Huh? They can't do escape rooms?" Rei asks.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Alexis asks.
"Everytime I came to check on them they always said they were doing an escape room." Rei says.
"Are you stupid?! She's bed ridden! How the hell is she supposed to do an escape room?!" Heather points out.
"There's escape rooms you can do online. Also they could have been making plans to visit an actual one when she was fully healed." Rei answers.
"Oh.. I didn't know they made those online." Heather admits.
"Yeah just search online escape rooms." Rei says.
"Well that makes a bit more sense now. But they don't have devices." Alexis says.
"Really? I thought they had phones or something to access the Internet with. Well maybe they did it like DND style. Someone's the master of the escape room and the others have to solve the puzzles?" Rei suggested.
"You know actually does sound kinda fun." Heather admits.
"Yeah it does. We'll have to try that." Alexis agrees.
"Ok looks like you're off the hook this time." Rava says.
"I'm kinda scared to ask what they were planning on doing to me." Rei says.
"You should be." All three triplets say at the same time.
"Anyways, all of you now have to do deal with your vampires. And you," Rava points at me. "You're not allowed to see anymore wolves!" She says.
After that she snapped her fingers and in a blink of the eye only one left in the room with me was Rei.
"That was intense..." She says.
I nod.
She takes my silence as me being cautious that they may still be in ear shot trying to pull a fast one to see if we slip up.
"Wanna play a card game?" She asks.
I get the cards out and start to shuffle.
We didn't always just talk about escaping. I did play games with those wolves so I have a lot of games nearby.
Even I get tired of scheming. So for the next two weeks Rei and I played games. We were actually in the middle of a game of Uno when the triplets walked in.
"Why are you playing games with her?" Heather asks.
"After she made that one strange sound I thought it was from her wolf trying to break free. You weren't exactly in the mood to talk rationally and I didn't really get a chance to ask, so I didn't ask for permission to run more tests on her. But I thought it best to stay close and monitor her and keep her calm." Rei explains.
"Alright that's reasonable." Rava says.
"How has she been?" Alexis asks.
"Her recovery has slowed drastically." Rei responds.
"What?!" The triplets exclaim.
"It's not fatal. It's more like her wolf stopped healing her fully and took her back to where she's able to live but she's not stable enough to leave the hospital." Rei adds.
"How long has the situation been like this?" Rava asks.
"About halfway through the first week of no more wolf contact." Rei says.
"I see. Has her condition gotten any worse?" Heather asks.
"No." Rei answers.
"Now what do we do?" Alexis asks.
"I recommend bringing some wolfs back." Rei says.
"No!" The triplets roar.
"Alright.. then at least bring back elder beta." Rei compromises.
"Who?" Alexis asks.
"The old wolf that she talks to." Rei clarifies.
"Absolutely not!" Heather shuts down.
"Please. She needs to use her voice. And so far he's who she talks to. Silence can lead to mental isolation which won't help her." Rei explains.
"Tch, once a week. Supervised." Rava relents.
"Ok." Rei agrees.
Looks like the curtain call hasn't happened yet.
