As soon as she said that she reached out for her handbag.. she felt around for her handbag was her hands never touched anything other that the leather seats of the car..
"Where's my handbag? where's my phone?" She started looking frantically inside the car for her handbag and her phone, but never fount anything of that sort.. Just when she thought of asking the driver for his phone did she realize that she was all alone in the car..
As she looked outside for husband and the driver she heard the two man laugh out loud, one of them spoke "Hahahaha.. You fool.. who are you looking for? Let me guess! is it your husband Mr. Lucas or the driver? hahaha"
she felt a shiver run down her spine and her heartbeat fastened.. she abruptly turned her head towards the voice and looked at him with a horrified expression and asked in with her voice trembling with the fear of the uncertain "Where is my husband? did you do something to him and the driver? Let me tell you.. you can't get away after doing something to us.. do you even know who my husband is? he is-"
The burly man next to her interrupted her and said while sneering "He is the CEO of the conglomerate 'Sunnyside'.. I know who your husband is, but it looks like you don't know him quite well.. haha.."
The other man on her right, reached out his hand inside to hold her hand, she flinched and dodged aside and looked at him as he said with a creepy smile "Hehe.. We didn't do anything to him.. but.... he was the one who sold you off to our boss, for a land that he wanted to acquire for a long time, but failed.. the boss took a fancy to you after he saw you picture that your husband showed him while offering you to him.."
Just as she was about to say something the burly man on her left caught her roughly with his calloused hand and yanked her out of the car.. "Ouch.." She cried out in surprise and pain as her body was pulled abruptly.. she stumbled in her white heels and her white long dress fluttered as she tried to stabilize herself..
The guy on the right yelled "Hey.. easy there.. the boss is still waiting for her.. you can't get her injured.. you know how boss's mood is, he might kill you if the goods got defected.."
She heard them bicker as she finally stood on her two feet.. She felt his grip loosen on her as he looked immediately terrified and said a little flustered "F-fine.. I won't do anything.. just shup up and move it.."
She felt him pulling her forward and heart sank.. it finally registered to her that these two guys were serious and her husband Lucas, who she thought was going to give her a surprise, might've given her a surprise she could never forget..
She refocused her thoughts and tried to think positively that it was just a prank and Lucas might really be here somewhere waiting for her to come to him so that he could show her what he had prepared..
With these thoughts she spoke again with a little courage she mustered up after all the thinking "It must be the plan Lucas made right? Alright.. I think it has gone a little too far with you yanking me out of the car and hurting me in the process.. but I'll just forget it as long as you take me to Lucas and apologize to him for hurting his wife.. okay?"
There was a silence for a few seconds before they both laughed out hard again while holding their stomach.. She looked at them with her eyes confused..
After a few seconds the guy holding her hand finally said "Listen here.. let me show you the contract that you dear 'Husband' and our boss made.. Mr. Lucas had already told us that you were a little fool and will not believe us.. so he sent a copy of the contract that they just signed earlier.. read that with your own eyes.. hmph"
He moved his phone in front of her eyes to have a good look at the contents of the contract.. She looked at it frantically, her eyes moving with the lines as she read.. "Miss Forsythia Heather, Wife of Mr. Lucas Sunnyside, has been hereby sold to Mr. Joseph colin, in exchange of a Land of a 150 acres."
her heart thudded as she saw the signatures of both the parties.. At this point, she could barely keep standing on her two feet.. She never thought that her husband, that she had married to for the past seven months.. could do something like this.. never in her wildest dreams she thought that something of this sort would become of her marriage..
Tears filled her eyes as she remembered the last smirk she saw on her husband's face.. she shook her head and a tiny laugh slipped out of her quavering lips.. The guys turned to look down at her only to see her laughing and crying at the same time..
tears were streaming down her eyes and she laughed maniacally.. Both the man looked confused and looked at each other, but finally a creepy smile formed on their faces..
"Now you know.. we were not lying to you.. now, let's get going, or the boss might kill us for real.. let's go.." he paused his hand that was going to hold her hand again, as the water droplets started falling down the sky..
"It's starting to rain.. we have to hurry or we'll get stuck on the way if there happens to be another landslide on the way.." The guy on the right side said as he reached out his hand to hold her hand..
