On his journey to find the keys, Ezio was able to see the magnificent life of his predecessor, Altaïr, through these keys.
Altaïr, like Ezio, was once an arrogant young man who was full of himself, short-tempered, and easily angered.
He misunderstood the Assassin's Creed, thinking it meant he could do whatever he wanted. As a result, his actions in Jerusalem had very serious consequences for the Assassin organization.
His mentor gave Altaïr nine names, telling him to kill these people to bring peace to the people of the area.
But during the assassinations, Altaïr discovered that not all the people on the list were bad.
And Altaïr's mentor told him that these people were all Templars, and their goal was to get the Apple of Eden, an ancient artifact, and use it to control the world.
But after Altaïr completed these missions, he realized that it was all his mentor's plot. His mentor wanted to keep the Apple of Eden for himself.

Finally, Ezio gathered all the keys and arrived at the door of Altaïr's library with Sofia. After saying goodbye to Sofia, Ezio entered the library alone.

On top of the bones was Altaïr's weathered Assassin outfit. He was sitting peacefully in the center.

On Altaïr's remains, Ezio found another key, and also found another Apple of Eden in the library.
