The ground's soil started to get coated by bits of ice and he then spread on the ground using his mana a layer of ice which covered a staggering range of a hundred metres radius which was not just an ordinary feat no normal person would survive on this range.
Dr Spade Pov
I immediately knew that I was now far away enough from the settlement camp. So I knew that I ought to stop this colossal monstrous bird immediately. I didn't want to turn on a warning without knowing what level of strength this monster had for it was concealing its own power from me . So that's how it is I guess I won't also show my full power just yet. I had now only shown one card in which I made the surface strong enough and slippery enough for me to move on .
Here it comes a big bird with a ten metres wing span and its body glowing with yellow lightning it was brownish black in colour and it seemed fearsome to someone's site , its body was smooth like it was made for speed . For once it was going slowly while it came at me. It seemed like it was studying my movements so I looked at its crimson eyes with black pupils its body seemed designed for speed it had razor sharp claws which seemed that it would tear a man in half if he or she had no magical forcefield to coat on their armor . To face it all alone with bare hands would be suicide with a first degree case.
The bird which seemed to have feathers which seemed to be sharp as blades would slice through anything. And in that instant it launched its body at a staggering speed it only flapped twice or thrice. To my eyes perceptions the bird was moving in at least two hundred miles an hour.
" Shit this time I might be in for it it's so fast , I quickly jumped to the side and also boosted my speed using ice magic as a catalyst to move myself it claws were so close yet to think that I would survive that I guess it's was luck it was I who met with it or maybe there is someone else it's hurt in its wake before we met. Before I could even think the bird had already taken my bearings and dived at me . I immediately crunched down and used steam on the cold compressed air to hurl myself forward and ducked it's attack.
Guess I have no time to think about others only myself. It grazed me slightly on the shoulder but it stung worse than a bite from a Scorpion sting . I guess it's because of that lightning it continuously produces on its feathers. But how is it making me so weak in this state .I feel so numb , thank goodness I didn't take that shot directly I would have been killed in an instant with no second to spare. Lucky for me I had this amour on me. What level of power does it have to break a special grade amour and cut it like butter .
Immediately I used my ice magic to move myself backwards even further away from it and immediately I was met by a counter by my airborne opponent and I was shocked . It had thrown several wind slashers towards me immediately I reacted it was like my body sensed the impending danger hurling towards my way and instincts took over , I had now become a prey in my own domain sweat trickled down my face and it immediately crystalized while it was about to drip of my face from my beard which was well kept . A sudden chill crept down my spine and it was bitter to the core .
That bird is such an asshole it almost made me think that was going to be easy but it seems like it won't be as I thought . As most people would have run at a glance of its power. It has now released some of its aura . " Oppressing" that's what I felt at this instant and point in time . It had no death impulses leaking from it while being so calm and looking at every step I make . " It's reading my actions that's what I felt in that instant in time . I could not go easy anymore if I let my guard down I guess I'm truly going to die. " No, not me , not yet at least, I got a lot of debts unpaid and I ain't leaving a single one" " so this kind of sting won't kill me .
Blood which was perfusing from his body now dried off forming ice which looked bloody and now on top of his amour ice started to form and it was not ordinary beginners stuff . Its ice molecules were so thick and compact that the bird was not able to slice and dice through that easily anymore yet it was so impossibly agile and light that when he moved now he seemed like he was flying higher.
How did you see that , you giant feather head , still there's no time to be happy about that I guess it should have something up its sleeves that can't be all it's got . We fought for several minutes with a series of ice and wind magic thrown at each other's way . This dumb bird is resilient .
We each took a breather getting ready for the next person and bird move to make . It flattered its wings and the gusts of wind could be felt. I don't know why but in this battle I was getting more and more excited as we fought. It has been a while since I felt something like this . It felt so good I was in a bliss for the moment, no matter how cold it was exchanging blows with that bird was so good. It was as if a part of Me which was missing had been found .
We fought until we were out of breath . It was like a dance between two parties which was trying to be superior . We then reacted like we were both in synchronynized motion . We both knew that if we did not go at full throttle we would be dead in an instant if we lowered our guards yes we let uor a barrage of attacks mostly wind strikes and and ice strikes I then used the technique ice storm but it was emmidietly countered with a wind storm and then when the collided we were both sent hurling backwards I was sent near the edge of my icefield even when I used an icesword and rough ice boots to slow me down ,the bird used a wind cution spell so as it's claws and beak to break momentum also .
Give me more it's what I said even when I was bear my limits . I was breathing rapidly to a point where I was now feeling weaker. Let's put an end to the play date we had it was nice but we have homes to go to. I was breathing heavily and it could be easily visible due to the cold state of my soroundings which was my fault but funny enough I didn't feel a thing in the slightest bits guess it was my body which was already used to this kinds of risks Already. Guess its a pretty bad habit .
The bird now started using lightning attack to boost it's speed and mobility in the moment it seemed like it won but then I started changing the temperature in the field which I used to my advantage to move faster and make moves which seemed impossible happen . The bird used now a secret technique which sent its feathers towards me at a bullet bunch packed technique. I could not see then but due to the amount of pressure and heat they had I could sense them and evaded but I couldn't escape all of them and I was hit by one luckily I had conjured Ice walls which slowed down the impact but not the serious pain which I was about to feel it was trumendous to say the least for the first time in years I shouted out of pain .The feather went right through my arm which was hurting like crazy hell it was so hot that I couldn't even think . Luckily I had seen it . It was aimed for my hurt by I changed it's coarse slightly and it went through my shoulder.
My hand was hurting seriously but any hesitation in moving ment death . Secret technique ice rock, I said in a low voice then I moved towards the bird this technique is easy yet hard because I couldn't use earth magic it would be slow hence I used a speech incantation which allows me to combine my mana with the one I threw Ice magic which had gravel rocks inside and when the ice got close it melted due to the heat the lightning it produced hadbut the rocks were hurled towards it fast and it was hit good in its burst
It came crashing down in an instant . We have been fight for some time now but it's about time we end this .Guess Birdy you loose if you never noticed this we've been moving since the fight started so I moved us to this point while we we fighting and you stupidly followed me now look where we are . The bird looked around and half of the Ice had now crossed the border we were now in the lush evergreen .
We only have two minutes before they hear us so let's make it quick due to the high amount of mana I nearly fell but I had trained fot this .This was now a game changer and it seemed the ground was in my favour the moisture in the air was perfect I stopped using my mana and I freely used the soroundings mana to fight and push back the gigantic bird and I was now winning this fight due to the change in scenary I was now giving the blows the bird was rapidly loosing mana then it changed form and it became asmall the same day I and was now on the brink of death.
I guess we'll meet again someday you big freak of nature I got a lot of important business to do twenty seconds are left on the clock and maybe.
AUTHOR'S POV
DR Spade moved the bird out of the border and was now back to the desert side of the border . To be more accurate the safe zone and covered himself with a spell .
He now started going back to the base and because he was out of mana he walked slowly then he heard a voice calling him Sir sir and a reving engine which did not make much of a sound while moving on the sandy desert.
Dr spade was shocked he saw a hand waving at him and it was one of his apprentices. Lin was coming towards him .and when she stopped spade first asked how is it that you found me. She simply replied your responder was on sir and the emergency alert was fired so I quickly reacted to find you .
Guess I'm a lucky man I think I remember I was torn between calling for backup and when I decided not to and simply fight out of the hole I dug myself in U accidentally called you on my private responder . He said this while pulling out a phone from his pocket." So thankyou"he added " let's go home . You insolent fool you need first aid first she said this like it a normal for the doctor to get into fights and being injured. She quickly took a bag from the car and started treating gus wounds.
When he was completely patched up they then got into the car and went back to the safe zone. "You know all the department heads and their main officers have been called to the meeting " lin said . "Yep I know" he replied "then why are you so late" she yelled at him " because it was unavoidable" he replied okey " then then let's hurry " she said and then hit the throttle to haste the car.
BACK TO THE PRESENT
(While they were walking towards the chipped Hall all the soldiers had now stopped following them because they were not allowed to access this area . Then a voice could be heard from behind them and immediately they turned to see who was there but no one could be seen. They then upped their guard getting ready to attack when someone spoke up.)
Dr spade : come on guys you don't even recognize me anymore ( he said this while he lowered a barrier which hid him from plain sight) guess you're getting old now guys.
"Spade is that you" he heard a voice call him out . He replied immediately without hesitation and a high level of respect without a hint of joke"Reporting for duty sir."
