Hierarchy and Nature of the Light MagesExcerpt from the "Academy of Magic Training Manual"
Category 1. Humans (non-magical)Origin and EssencePeople in this category possess no magic, as there are no magical crystals in their bodies.
Role in SocietyTheir mission is to support the magical community: farming, household work, restoring territories after battles, assisting mages in the rear. They are the invisible foundation that allows mages to focus on their primary mission.
Physical CharacteristicsAverage lifespan — 60–80 years.Average height — 170–180 cm. Hair is predominantly dark or chestnut; fair-haired individuals are rare.
Category 2. Gifted (semi-magical defenders)Origin and BlessingThe Gifted receive a blessing from the High Priest of the temple or, more rarely, from a powerful mage. These are people who have not accepted a magical crystal, or were born without one, but still possess enhanced physical characteristics thanks to the gift.
Combat and Magical TraitsThey cannot use magic directly, yet they surpass ordinary humans in strength, endurance, and lifespan. They age more slowly due to the blessing.
Physical CharacteristicsLifespan — about 90 years (if they do not perish in war).Height — 180–190 cm. Larger build than ordinary humans; other traits are similar: hair and eye color vary.
Role in SocietyThe Gifted are defenders of castles, cities, and temples, keepers of order, and the backbone of the military forces of the kingdoms.
Category 3. BlessedGeneral DefinitionThe Blessed are those who have received a mana crystal and undergone the ritual of blessing from the most powerful healers. This makes them full mages with divine-level access.
3.1. Blessed Guardians (highest level)OriginThey receive the crystal in the womb, along with the blessing of a powerful healer. Magic is absorbed from birth, forming a base of purity and protection.
Combat and Magical TraitsThey cannot be harmed physically: the body is entirely woven from blessings. A Guardian can be killed only by black magic, cursed weaponry (physically), or complete "blackening" — being consumed by darkness until the essence is destroyed. They possess the most powerful defensive and purifying magic, oppose dark magic at the energy level, heal both mages and humans, and can completely restore physical condition.
Physical CharacteristicsTaller than humans by half a head. Live up to 90 years, age slowly.
Role in SocietyRaised in temples, they serve as personal protectors and healers to powerful mages, and are the center of religious and magical support in castles.
3.2. Blessed Mages (ordinary)OriginThey receive the crystal after birth (usually in early childhood) and undergo the blessing ritual from a priest or mage-healer.
Combat and Magical TraitsThey wield a single element (fire, water, air, earth, lightning, etc.). Their magic is stable, simplified, but powerful within its specialization. They are the main magical force in the army. Mages with specific skills serve in the temple or as the priestess's personal guard.
Physical CharacteristicsHeight — 180–195 cm. Taller and stronger than the Gifted. Live up to 90 years. Possess accelerated regeneration and an increased pain threshold.
Role in SocietyOfficers, battle mages, castle guards, commanders of the Gifted.
Category 4. Light MagesOrigin and TrainingLight mages are born with a natural magical crystal. Their abilities develop from an early age, and training takes place in academies located at each castle — behind the second walls, in the most heavily guarded area.
Combat and Magical TraitsAs a rule, they command one of the elements: water, fire, air, earth, light, ice, and others. Their power grows with years of practice and meditation.
Duties— participation in military campaigns;— reconnaissance missions;— purges;— battles with dark mages;— defense of the kingdom;— guarding the three Main Temples of the continent (for the exceptional).
Physical CharacteristicsHeight — up to 2 meters. Possess high physical strength and endurance. Mana is more powerful than that of the Blessed. Distinguished by divine beauty, a body combining strength and harmony. Lifespan — about 100 years.
Types of Light Mages— Light Mage (ordinary) — one element and one type of effect;
— Balanced Mage — commands all spectrums of a single element;
— Exalted Mage — combines one elemental and one non-elemental magic. Exalted mages are rare, possess increased strength and endurance, hold command posts, and serve in temples. Lifespan — up to 150 years.
Category 5. The Unyielding (highest level of magic)Types— With Pure (primordial) Magic — power from before the division into light and darkness, before the formation of elements. It can affect everything: healing, destruction, transformation, control of the elements, magical time. Its essence is known only to the priestesses of the three temples.
** Priestess of the Temples / Solemir / Meron — the last representative of this type in the current generation…**
— With Three Active Elements — mages possessing three elements at once, which is impossible for ordinary light or exalted mages. Their power is the result of a unique crystal or the awakening of ancient blood.
** Not found at the present time (year 590)**
Mana Crystals and Their PropertiesEssence of the CrystalIn the mage's body, the crystal becomes part of their essence, woven into the energy structure, blood, and magical channels.
Extraction of CrystalsPossible only from an adult, fully formed mage in good health. Loss of the crystal means loss of all accumulated power and often leads to death. Extraction from a child or an exhausted mage is impossible without a fatal outcome.
Reasons for ExtractionPerformed rarely and only for special reasons. The most well-known is a mage's love for an ordinary human. When conceiving a child, the body of an ordinary woman or man cannot bear a magical offspring; to carry the child, the mage relinquishes the crystal.
Creation of CrystalsCrystals are created by special mages capable of forming magical matter. These are the rarest and most respected masters. Each crystal is the result of complex, lengthy work — the weaving of magic, energy, and intent.
Types of Crystals for Mana Restoration— Embedded Crystals — integrated into fabric, armor, or amulets; they accumulate mana from air, earth, light, water.— Capsule Crystals — portable, do not regenerate on their own, but store a reserve of energy for emergencies.
Heritage— Ordinary humans can give birth to either ordinary children or those capable of accepting a magical crystal;— The Gifted most often give birth to the Blessed;— The Blessed — to other Blessed or, rarely, to mages;— Light and Exalted mages — mostly to mages, though increasingly children are born without a crystal.
