Chapter-5: beheaded, confined to home town and exiled

She picked it up and saw that it was the marriage certificate of the three siblings. (Marriage certificate…?) She thought about it and rolled up the marriage certificate and threw it into the box.

There was still some time left, so she rushed to the small kitchen and searched around. "The time has come." The Imperial guards beside him spoke. Wendy Lark closed the full box and let out a long breath.

Jerry Lark ran out from the east wing, holding a bunch of things in his arms, "Sister, everything is done." He is just a tool man here. He does whatever his sister says. Anyway, his brain is stuck now.

Wendy Lark snatched the men's coat from his hand without saying a word and put it on herself piece by piece in front of the officials. She was the youngest and had not yet fully grown, so Jerry Lark's clothes were loose on her.

She put on the men's soap boots on her feet, and soon she swelled up like a fat bun. The Imperial Guards were stunned and amazed. When we returned to the hall, everyone looked over and they were stunned for a moment.

"Jerry, Wendy, you…" Mr. Wilson Lark looked at his two children who had changed so much that he almost couldn't recognize them. What was going on? Daniel walker said coldly, "You are only allowed to bring one set of clothes."

Wendy Lark was not afraid, but took a few steps closer and turned around, "Sir, its one piece. I'm cold. Is it illegal to wear a few more pieces?" One, two, three, four, she wore four coats. Well, Jerry Lark also wore four coats and wrapped himself up in sweat.

He just did what his sister told him to do, but he didn't know the reason. His sister's tone was too strong and he had no resistance at all. Daniel walker's mouth twitched and his indescribable gaze fell on Wendy Lark's feet.

She raised her right foot and shook it gracefully, "I think it's not against the law to wear a pair of men's soap boots, right?" They were her Brother Jerry's black boots, which were a little big, so she stuffed two more handkerchiefs into them. "Bring the box here."

Wendy Lark curled her lips slightly, which meant she agreed. She handed the box over generously, "Please." Daniel walker searched through the things inside and the first thing he saw was three marriage certificates.

"Why did you take out the marriage certificates at this time? Are you trying to ask for help?" Although the second branch of the Lark family is not valued, it is related to the reputation of the Lark family. When they reach the age, their marriage will naturally be arranged.

The guy arranged for Wendy Lark was the illegitimate son of a low ranking official, so they were considered a good match. Of course, it is totally incomparable with the marriage of the first wife.

The Lark family had very complicated expressions. When something like this happened, they could only rely on relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lark subconsciously looked at their proudest daughter.

Jessica Lark's future husband's family was a first-rank marquisate, and they also had a royal concubine. As long as the Second queen said a few good words to the King, she would surely be able to persuade the King to change his mind.

When they thought of this, the couple became very excited and felt they saw hope. Wendy Lark was not optimistic. She could not change the overall situation and could only go with the flow.

Her grandfather taught her to find the most advantageous option for herself, try her best, and test the other party's attitude. "Since ancient times, there have been many people who have added icing on the cake, but few who have helped in times of need. But what if…?"

Daniel walker did not comment. In the box were an embroidery needle, several balls of silk thread, and several packets of unknown substances. He frowned slightly, "What is this?" Wendy Lark immediately stepped forward to explain,

"These are seasonings for cooking. These are salt, sugar, pepper and cinnamon..." She was very dissatisfied with the lackluster seasoning in the kitchenette.

But when you think about it carefully, (there was no cooking in this dynasty! There are only a few cooking methods such as steaming, boiling, stewing, baking and serving cold dishes. Alas, it has not evolved yet.)

Daniel walker: …speechless…

"What the hell is this?" He continued to flip through the items, "Why did you think of bringing medicine?" he asked checking the other things.

"People will always get sick after eating whole grains. How can we do that without medicine?" Wendy Lark said calmly, pointing to her forehead which had been treated with emergency medicine.

Daniel walker has met countless people of all kinds, but she is the only girl he looks at straight in the eye. "But you are ransacking the house."

(Not moving! Does she know what a house raid means? Is she ignorant? Or is she too careless?) He thought. Wendy Lark didn't want to say more to him at first, but after a little thought, she changed her mind.

"This is what I think. When a family is raided, there are only three possible outcomes. One is that the whole family will be beheaded. There's nothing much to say about that." Maybe she can return to her own world and start over.

"Second is to send him back to his hometown. This is the best outcome. Just be prepared." She said casually.

"Third one is exile..." she analyzed calmly.

Exile was the most common form of punishment in ancient times. Before she could finish her words, someone started crying loudly. She glanced at them indifferently. They were the children of the eldest wife, the noble young masters and young ladies.

Daniel walker had already understood her intentions, and couldn't help but sigh, "Continue."
