Rikou was stunned when he heard this, then stared deeply at Yuta for a moment, seemingly shocked and surprised, before finally saying one word: "Okay."
After a while, Tsunayashiro Rikou brought over a jade box and handed it to Yuta.
Yuta opened it and saw three objects inside that looked like fragments of a body, each one exuding an overwhelming and terrifying power. The moment that invisible power appeared, Tsunayashiro Rikou instinctively took several steps back. Even though they were only fragments, the spiritual pressure radiating from them surpassed Rikou's ability to endure. The air itself twisted, and the reishi in the atmosphere swirled violently in response to the presence of the objects.
The ground beneath Yuta cracked from the overwhelming weight of the pressure, spreading outward in jagged lines far past the house until the entire structure trembled as if struck by a giant's fist. Tables and bowls shattered in succession with sharp cracks, scattering debris across the room. Under such overwhelming force, one could only imagine that even a captain's Bankai, let alone Mayuri Kurotsuchi's most advanced chemicals, would scatter like dust before it.
Yuta alone stood unshaken, calm as though this power were nothing unusual for him. Still, he was surprised at the strength such fragments possessed. If the full body of the Soul King manifested this kind of power, then an average Shinigami would be annihilated before even approaching. Just seeing His true form might blind them like staring into the sun.
From outside the room, the Onmitsukidō guards exchanged uneasy looks before one finally called out nervously: "Head of the family, what happened?"
Their voices betrayed fear as the pressure pressed against their bodies, making it nearly impossible to draw closer. Cracks had even reached beneath their own feet, spreading outward from the center. The scene left them shaken, unsure if they were witnessing an attack. If so, what kind of enemy could wield such overwhelming power? Or had the head of the clan himself been experimenting with something forbidden?
Tsunayashiro Rikou called back: "It's fine. All of you, step back." His tone was calm, but his face paled as he suppressed a cough, nearly spitting up blood once more.
The guards answered quickly: "Yes." They withdrew, though the tension in their stances lingered.
Yuta glanced down at the fragments one last time before closing the amber-like jade box. As soon as the lid shut, the suffocating spiritual pressure dissipated, vanishing into silence. He turned to Rikou and gave a short bow. "Thank you." Without another word, he moved toward the door.
"Wait a moment," Rikou said. Holding a handkerchief to his mouth, a faint trace of blood stained the cloth from the effort of remaining upright. "Because of me using Enra Kyoten, my body won't last much longer. I hope… that when I am gone… you will bring peace back to the Soul Society. If it is you, I believe you can…" His breathing hitched before he added softly, "Please."
Yuta gave no answer. He neither promised nor refused, only turned and left the house in silence.

The energy required to forge a Hōgyoku was immense. The ambient pressure spilling from just the fragments of the Soul King could collapse an unprotected laboratory. To avoid destroying Division 12's facilities, Yuta carried a portion of research equipment and moved a considerable distance away from the Research and Development Institute before beginning his work.
He laid out the three special spirit beads created from the combined essence of Shinigami and Quincy power, along with the fragments of the Soul King. Having once analyzed the composition of the Hōgyoku thoroughly, Yuta had mastered its structure and production process. Now, with the added insight provided by the Soul King fragments, his understanding of the true origin of power deepened further. It was the primordial force underlying all others, the very foundation akin to sunlight itself. Using such fragments for experimentation was a paradox-the remnants of divinity crafted into tools of research.
He began the process of forging the first Hōgyoku prototype. Instantly, spiraling currents of reishi erupted, forming a storm that wrapped the ground in violet-black light like a collapsing singularity. The effect spread across the division grounds in an ominous glow visible to every member of the 12th Division.
"What's going on?" a seated officer asked sharply.
"It looks like Captain Yuta just carried some equipment outside right before this," another replied uneasily.
"An experiment? What kind of experiment would generate this much spiritual pressure?"
"This is only his first day in charge of the division… and already something like this?" a third remarked nervously, sweat forming on his forehead as the oppressive sensation pressed down even from a distance. "That spiritual pressure feels beyond our level. What kind of weapon is the captain developing?"
One muttered under his breath, "Even compared to Captain Kurotsuchi… Captain Yuta's research feels several times more dangerous."
---
Nemu Kurotsuchi pushed open a window on the upper floor of the institute. A blast of wind rushed in immediately, sending her long hair forward in silken strands. Her gaze locked on the whirling sphere of violet-black reiryoku in the distance, her eyes reflecting the void-like glow as the storm intensified. At its center, Yuta persisted quietly with his experiment, his form faintly visible within the collapse of spiritual pressure.
The disturbance reached beyond Division 12. The Onmitsukidō operatives monitoring the area quickly reported the situation to their commander, Soi Fon.
At that moment, Soi Fon was training atop a remote mountain cliff. Her body hung inverted from a single handstand against the edge of a boulder, her arm flexed and straining as sweat ran down her neck and dampened her uniform, the fabric clinging tightly to her figure. Her muscles shifted with each controlled motion as she pressed through her regimen-one thousand handstand push-ups were only a portion of her standard training cycle, along with fifty kilometers of running and countless pull-ups. Every inch of the boulder beneath her hand had been worn smooth from years of repetition.
She completed one more controlled extension before landing with a backflip, wiping away the sweat with a small flow of spiritual energy before sliding her haori over her shoulders. An Onmitsukidō agent leapt from the treeline and knelt before her, lowering his head.
"Commander," the guard reported, "Captain Yuta of the 12th Division is conducting an unknown experiment. His spiritual pressure is overwhelming-the area it covers is extremely dangerous."
