"Then congratulations to the Great Kido Chief."
"But now there is something that needs your attention, Great Kido Chief."
"Please help Hinamori."
Unohana Retsu stepped aside, revealing the injured Hinamori Momo behind her.
Yuta nodded once. His eyes lingered briefly on the fragments of ice still scattered across the ground, blue crystals reflecting the light. They resembled frozen blossoms caught mid-bloom, strangely beautiful amidst the aftermath of battle.
He raised his hand, and light from Kaidō gathered immediately. His control over it had improved recently; there was no hesitation in the flow of energy. Watching the remains of Hitsugaya Tōshirō's Bankai gave him an insight into the effect of natural phenomena within techniques. If celestial phenomena could be guided through Hadō, then Kaidō could also be merged with such principles.
[You watched the traces of Hitsugaya Tōshirō's Bankai and comprehended "Celestial Phenomena Integration."]
[You merged Kaidō with Celestial Phenomena Integration and successfully created "Rain of Kaidō."]
The pressure spread outward at once, surpassing only the chamber itself. Even the skies above responded. Clouds thickened, thunder rolled, and the atmosphere shifted as if the entire world had fallen under the technique's scope.
Raindrops soon began to fall. They were not ordinary rain, but drops of condensed Kaidō spirit particles that carried restorative power into everything they touched.
Hitsugaya's eyes narrowed as he watched. He had been wondering how Yuta intended to use Kaidō. He had not expected him to draw on celestial phenomena to create healing rain that surpassed anything he'd seen before. Such a technique was not only unprecedented, it rivaled the power of Zanpakutō that governed natural phenomena. Hyōrinmaru was known as the sole Zanpakutō that could command the sky, yet now Yuta was altering the heavens without a blade in hand.
The thought unsettled him, his usual composure slipping. This was no longer the domain of a simple healer-it was something that shifted the balance of ability within Soul Society itself. He began to ask the questions silently to himself: how had Yuta realized it so quickly, and when had he crossed into that level of perception? The traces of his Bankai alone had been enough for Yuta to understand. Hitsugaya could not decide if Yuta was a prodigy beyond reason, something monstrous, something altogether inhuman, but the power radiating from him was undeniable.
Momo's injuries closed rapidly under the falling rain. Though her physical condition stabilized, the mental damage she carried from Aizen's betrayal remained unresolved, leaving her unconscious still.
Unohana watched with measured composure but felt the weight of her own comparison. She had studied Kaidō for centuries, yet in mere days Yuta had taken it to a level she had never reached. The scope of his Rain of Kaidō, its scale and recovery speed, rivaled even Kirinji Tenjirō of the Royal Guard. Her expression remained calm, but internally her conviction grew firmer-Yuta's strength was unquestionable and unlike any she had seen.
Later, within the First Division, the captains and lieutenants gathered. Yuta sat back on a chair, his arms folded along its backrest, chin resting on his fist. His tone carried no tension when he spoke.
"Old man Yamamoto, why exactly did you call me here for this meeting?"
Yamamoto sat at the head of the chamber. His voice was deep and deliberate as he answered.
"There are vacant positions among the Gotei 13. The Third, Fifth, and Ninth Divisions require captains. The Commander of the Onmitsukidō still serves as Captain of the Second Division. You may choose to serve as captain of any of these divisions in addition to your title and take your place within the Gotei 13."
Yuta covered a yawn with one hand before responding casually.
"A captain spends every day burdened with work that never ends. That isn't what I came here for."
The other captains exchanged glances at his dismissal. Speaking so openly to the Captain commander was something few would dare, but Yamamoto did not react with anger. His gaze alone was sharp enough to carry intent, but Yuta's composure remained unaffected beneath the weight of his spiritual pressure, as though it had no effect on him at all.
Kyoraku Shunsui adjusted the brim of his hat and spoke lightly.
"Well, I suppose this was bound to happen. I already knew Yuta wasn't someone who'd remain obscure for long. It's not surprising that he's risen so quickly. To be honest, giving him more responsibility only seems natural at this point."
