Chapter 140: The Richest Man in Cherrygrove City
"Meow~" Floragato purred, a slight smirk on her face. She loved seeing others in awe of her master's power.
The crowd, which had been eerily quiet, finally exploded into an uproar, discussing the Sceptile's incredible size, speed, and unexpected Electric-type move.
Just then, the clear sound of wooden wheels turning came from a distance. Two Gyarados were pulling a luxurious, massive carriage towards them.
"It's that guy, Forrest!"
"Only he can use two Gyarados to pull a carriage."
"Who's Forrest?"
"The son of the richest man in Cherrygrove City. A rich kid who spends all day thinking about how to fish."
'Looks like we don't have to wait for the police after all,' Ryu thought with a grin. This was the man Tom had told them to find.
The Gyarados pulled the carriage to a stop beside them. The door opened.
"Nice to meet you, Sceptile, and this cute cat," a black-haired young man in strange attire appeared. He had the rough appearance of a fisherman but wore a gentlemanly white shirt and breeches, topped with a green, woven straw hat. "This is not a convenient place to talk. Please, get in."
"Looks like he knew I was coming," Ryu muttered, then leaped onto the carriage with Floragato.
The interior was spacious, even for him. The Gyarados set off at a brisk pace, the ride surprisingly bumpy. They traveled for about twenty minutes before arriving at a manor in the southwest of the city.
The mansion was a classic, three-story aristocratic residence with a large garden and a small fountain.
"If the cat likes it, you can go play in the flower garden," Forrest said, noticing Floragato's interest. "Some wild Grass-type and Bug-type Pokémon often run into the manor. Maybe you can make some friends."
"Meow," Floragato hesitated, torn between her desire to play and her reluctance to leave Ryu.
"Go on," he said. "It's not easy to see such a beautiful flower garden. I'll come play with you later."
..."Meow." Hearing that, she reluctantly nodded. 'Since you said so, I'll give you face,' she thought, then wagged her small tail and happily ran into the flower garden.
