Xavier's POV
"You should rest a bit, I'll get the maids to attend to you. Do you need anything?" I asked Zara after releasing her from my embrace but she simply stated that she was fine.
"I'll be fine…I don't need anything else Xavier." She responded as she heaved a sigh and was staring at the ground between us.
Her gaze traveled across the room while she took her time to assess the large space we both stood.
It felt unreal and unusual to see her this calm with me. We were often at daggers drawn but now, we seemed to be getting along quite well after the injury she'd sustained from the attack.
"I need to leave now," Zara said, drawing my attention from my thoughts back to her.
"Why? You're not totally healed yet. You still have to recover, besides----"
"---I don't think staying back in your chamber is a good idea. What if someone sees me here? I'll return to the infirmary, I'll be better there." she complained to me.
