Saviana threw back her arms and flung the orbs of crackling energy.
Audrey's eyes went wide as she watched the orbs hurtling close, ready to reduce her to ashes or worse.
Acting on instinct alone, she lifted her arms to protect her face from the scalding heat of the orbs. She jolted as flames errupted from her core and bursted out in rippling waves from her body.
She saw it as a golden sphere of energy trembling into the space around her in a sharp yet powerful outburst that reduced the orbs to mere sparks on collision. The sphere went on to shudder the trees and tremble the ground before fizzling out.
Audrey gasped, staring down at the spirals of golden sparks still feintly visible on her skin.
Saviana chuckled in triumph. "You see what I mean?"
Audrey wringed her arms. They felt charged, like live wire. "What was that?"
