The park was mostly empty. Only a handful of people leisured about here and there; one walking twin dogs that looked suspiciously like wolves, a couple jogging around the the path along the treeline, and some just lounging on the low grass.
Audrey didn't know how long she strolled around aimlessly until she settled on the stone bench in front of a fountain. The water spilled down into the basin with a melodious symphony that soothed her nerves.
She propped the box on her lap and took a moment to admire the surface. Expensive leather with crisscrossing dotted patterns over the leaf green coat. She unclasped the simple lock and lifted the lid.
