Brig dropped to the ground and began reloading. He just fired all bullets killing 5 bandits and injuring one. The reason for his accuracy was he decided to take the bandits flank and aimed them for more than 15 meters away. Luckily, during shooting he was unexpectedly calm and all of his shots were accurate since he aimed for the body. The fourth bandit got lucky since he got startled and moved a little bit from his sight.
As for it was taking him too long to to reload its because he needed to take out the ammo box from his inventory and then struggled to remove the sticker.
"Should've stored some on my pockets for reload... I'm an idioooot"
Few seconds later, he got up and saw that the 2 remaining bandits were chased down by the knights and the injured one was detained by a guy that looks like a knight commander. Since the appraisal only shows "Knight" he based his conclusions on the uniform. The knight was wearing more armor and he definitely looks more.... rich? or basically since he doesn't have his helmet on.
"Hello?"
As the knights were alerted of his presence, Brig raised both his hands giving a sign that he means no harm, or at least that what it means in general.
"Lower your weapons!. Good day esteemed mage"
"Eh? mage? uh yes, good day."
Disregarding the fact the could talk to them without any barriers despite the knights not speaking any language he know of, Brig decided to pose as this "mage" that the no helmet knight was talking about.
"We thank you for your assistance, casualties have been minimized due to your help."
"Err.. your welcome. Just passing by"
He gave a smile to the commander guy wondering if he could put his arms down now.
"Please be at ease, esteemed mage. I would like ask if are you alone or also going to the capital? by the way. I am called Leonard and we are currently escorting someone.."
At the mention of this someone, the carriage door opened and a "girl" with a bright red dress walked out and gave a curtsy bow to him.
"Princess please go back, there might still be enemies outside."
The girl was dragged inside by 2 women wearing a maid outfit inside the carriage.
"Apologies for the behavior Mr. Mage, but the princess will show herself to you later as it is still dangerous outside."

Rushing footsteps were heard from ahead, it was a group of people with 3 women and 2 men with noticeable features. Especially the big guy with a big shield. Brig silently held the gun handle on his pocket but the knight commander notices his alertness.
"Worry not esteemed mage, those are the adventurers I hired for escort as an adventurer party."
"Adventurer party? then why are.. nevermind."
"Sir Leonard, I'm sorry I might have left too many enemies escape."
The guy with the sword said apologetically.
"The number was still within calculations, how many did you intercept?"
"Initially, there are 25 bandits. When they encountered us, 10 of them went towards you but Rina actually killed 2 of them so there should be only 8 enemies for you to face."
Everyone looked towards the woman with daggers on both hand bowing her head lightly to the knight.
"Excellent work, we have 2 stragglers on our end that went your way"
"We encountered them but actually we have some prisoners on us as well so we let your knights detain them since we have already tied them up."
"Okay, then lets go to them and proceed accordingly. But moving forward, you guys go along with us since we are already near the capital."
"No worries sir knight. Also I've been meaning to ask this but.. who??"
Wrapping up the report, the swordsman asked the knight who Brig was.
"Hello, just some passerby please do not mind me"
Brig waved his hand to the swordsman showing no hostility and that they shouldn't mind him at all.
"This gentleman here actually our benefactor, he singlehandedly disposed of the bandits you have mentioned earlier".
Brig was surprised that the knight commander actually revealed what happened despite him dropping the "just a passerby" identity. Now he is forced to assume the role of a "mage" that the knight thought him to him to be.
