Chapter 178 - The Violent Experiment on a Dementor

Time quickly passed, and soon it was the first weekend after the term had begun.

Although Dementors were constantly floating around outside Hogwarts, the students' daily lives weren't affected too much, aside from the atmosphere being a bit more oppressive.

However, while the students were mostly fine, the same couldn't be said for others.

Currently, a chilling wind was blowing through the Fairy Tail Guild.

Except for Luna, everyone who had just arrived at the Fairy's Abode was standing far away from Victor.

"Victor, why did you bring these things into the Guild?!" Hermione shouted angrily at him.

On the guild's main plaza, two Dementors had suddenly appeared. One was being suppressed by Luna's Patronus, and the remaining one were firmly pinned to a table. The plaza, which was usually so warm and welcoming, had become eerily gloomy and lifeless.

"Don't worry about me. Just go about your business," Victor replied, waving his hand.

He was wearing a white lab coat and a face mask, and Luna was dressed the same way, as she found the outfit interesting.

Regardless of anything else, the sight was certainly full of ceremony!

"Master, what are you trying to do?" Cedric asked, a bead of cold sweat running down his face as he looked at the row of weapons and torture devices on a nearby table.

"It's nothing, really. I suddenly became very interested in the physical structure of Dementors, so I took the opportunity this weekend to capture a few and study them," Victor said, as he picked and chose his tools.

"But you don't have to do it here at the Guild," Hermione said, soothing a pale-faced Zoe, who was in her arms. "Can't you see that Scarlia is terrified?"

"It's quieter here at the Guild. If I did it outside, I'd scare the other students at school," Victor said, as he put down a rocket launcher. "And Zoe. Look at you. I've never seen you this scared when you've encountered venomous snakes in the wild."

"Is that even comparable?!" Zoe cried out, burying her face in Hermione's chest.

"Why not? On the first day of school, Scarlia was also so scared she couldn't move when she saw a Dementor, but isn't she used to it now?" Victor put down a MG-42 German general-purpose machine gun. "Now, the Ravenclaw students say hello to the Dementors every time they enter the Bronze Tree Palace, and some of the older students have already secretly formed groups to go fight them."

"So you see, sometimes people just need to learn to overcome their fears. Once you get used to it..."

With that, he had finally chosen his experimental tools.

Victor first firmly pinned the Dementor down, then lifted its black robe to reveal the withered, rotten hand beneath. He then raised a giant axe, one that only a troll could use, and brought it down quickly.

BANG!

A loud noise echoed, but the Dementor was completely unharmed. The metal handle of the axe, on the other hand, was bent from the immense force.

"What?! So hard?!" Victor looked at the dent in the axe with a surprised expression.

He then picked up a chainsaw, yanked the cord of the engine a few times, and a puff of thick black smoke, smelling strongly of oil, billowed out. He then put the rapidly rotating chain saw against the Dementor's hand.

ZZZZZZZZZ...

An ear-piercing grinding sound resonated throughout the plaza.

Hermione and the others standing not far away immediately got goosebumps, a chill running down their spines.

But even though it was incredibly uncomfortable, they didn't want to leave.

Human curiosity is embedded in our very DNA. In reality, they were also very curious about these creatures.

Now, they were just like people watching a horror movie: scared, but still wanting to see what happened next...

After trying several bladed weapons, the Dementor was still completely unharmed.

To find out if Dementors were completely immune to physical attacks, Victor decided to go all out!

CLACK!

Just as Victor pulled the bolt of the AK-47 in his hands, an anxious voice suddenly rang out from a distance!

"Master! Master!" Harry rushed over, shouting. "I need your help with something very important!"

"So urgent, it must not be a big deal," Victor said calmly. "Tell me, what happened?"

"Hedwig, my owl, is missing," Harry said anxiously. "I haven't been able to find her since yesterday, and she hasn't responded to my whistling!"

The reason Harry was so anxious was that Hedwig had a special meaning to him.

First, Hedwig was a gift from Hagrid, the first person who ever showed him kindness. Second, she was the first birthday present Harry had ever received in his life!

"An owl suddenly disappearing usually only means one of two things: it's either dead or trapped," Victor said.

"Do you think Sirius Black captured her?" Harry asked.

"Why would he capture an owl? To eat it?" Victor rolled his eyes, but then he suddenly remembered something. "Actually, that might not be impossible."

"What?!" Harry's face went white instantly.

"Oh, I was just kidding," Victor said, annoyed. "Do you have one of Hedwig's feathers or anything? I can cast a spell, and it can lead you to her."

"I do! I'll go get one right away!" Harry replied immediately and then turned around and ran off.

Since the Room of Requirement was on the same floor as the Gryffindor common room, Harry returned a moment later with a white feather he had taken from the owl cage, still stained with dried owl droppings.

Victor cast a tracking spell, and then he let Harry follow the feather.

However, seeing that the feather was flying toward the Forbidden Forest, a bad feeling suddenly rose in Victor's heart.

To be honest, he had always been wary of Harry, the protagonist of the original story.

It wasn't for any specific reason; it was just that, no matter which world you were in, people with the protagonist's halo were like walking disasters—they were just so good at getting into trouble!

They could make a mess out of nothing, and they could turn a small issue into a big one.

But because he had appeared in this world, he had managed to quell the source of many major incidents in advance, which was why Hogwarts had been so much calmer for the past two years than it was in the books.

At the same time, in the Hogwarts Great Hall, students were resentfully finishing the weekend homework assigned by their professors.

Just then, countless owls began to fly in through the skylights, accurately delivering mail to the students below.

Seamus received a new copy of the Daily Prophet and, looking at the contents, shouted, "Oh my God! Someone saw him, someone saw him!"

Ron, who was diligently completing the lines Snape had assigned him as punishment, was startled by the shout. He frowned and looked up. "Seamus, calm down. Nothing's more important than my homework. Snape's assignment is why I couldn't go back to the Guild to practice magic with Harry!"

"Someone saw Sirius Black!" Seamus said, raising the newspaper in his hand.

His words immediately caught the attention of the surrounding students. Ron also stopped writing and leaned forward curiously.

On the front page of the new Daily Prophet, Sirius Black's wild-eyed wanted photo was still there.

But below the photo, the original wanted poster had been replaced with a large headline that read: AZKABAN'S FIRST ESCAPEE, DEATH EATER SIRIUS BLACK SPOTTED IN DUFFTOWN!

"Dufftown ?!" Ron was shocked when he saw the familiar name.

This small town was very close to Hogwarts and was known for producing various wines and spirits.

His dad would often sneak there to drink because he was always told off by his wife if he drank at home!

"Dufftown... Sirius Black is probably trying to come to Hogwarts. He's coming for Harry!" Seamus guessed.

"I don't think so. The area around the school is filled with Dementors. Wouldn't he be walking right into a trap?" another Gryffindor said.

"Ha! Dementors?" Seamus sneered, his tone full of mockery. "If they could catch Sirius Black, what would they be doing here? They couldn't even keep him locked up in Azkaban; do you really think they can catch him now?"

The students were all chattering, but Ron had vanished into the crowd.

He felt he needed to tell Harry about this.

However, the person he was looking for was flying above the Forbidden Forest, heading toward a small town filled with the smell of alcohol.
