Chapter 92 - The Two Selection Challenges

After a few more minutes of entanglement, the persistent Minister of Magic finally left. As Dumbledore watched Fudge's retreating back, he suddenly waved his hand, casting the same light and shadow magic as Victor, and transformed into an owl that flew out.

Somewhere at Hogwarts, Victor quickly received Dumbledore's letter. He read the contents and then mockingly curled his lip.

The Ministry of Magic was just like the Magic Council of Earth Land. They thought they were a powerful organization and wanted to meddle in everything, not caring that someone might one day chop off their hands!

The letter also said that Fudge wanted to talk to him personally, but Victor could guess with his toes what our dear Minister of Magic wanted. It was nothing more than promising him various benefits, making empty promises, setting conditions, and then having Victor and Fairy Tail serve the Ministry of Magic, thereby indirectly getting a foothold in Hogwarts.

After all, many people knew that Hogwarts was independent of the Ministry of Magic's regulatory system. But this behemoth that connected all levels of the British wizarding world had always been beyond their control. This was something that no one in power or any organization could tolerate.

So, thinking that the Ministry of Magic or Fudge would likely not let go of the guild matter, Victor immediately created a Thought Projection and sent it to the Ministry of Magic to deal with this small issue.

In fact, he could have just cast a spell to forcefully change their minds, without having to waste so much effort. Furthermore, if it really came down to it, he was perfectly capable of replacing the Minister of Magic.

And all of the above was just a small interlude before the establishment of Fairy Tail.

Time quickly came to Saturday, the day of the Fairy Tail Guild member selection.

At nine in the morning, almost all of the students at Hogwarts came to the courtyard lawn. There were those who were eager to try out, and there were also those who were just there to watch the fun. Of course, the latter were in the minority.

At this moment, the courtyard lawn was bustling with people. It was estimated that at least 80% of the students at Hogwarts had come to participate in the Fairy Tail member selection.

Around the selection team, there were at least ten Victors maintaining order.

According to the previous work arrangements, Hermione was in charge of registering the information of the participants, while Cedric was responsible for guiding the registered participants to the first round of selection.

At the information desk, Victor quietly walked up behind Hermione, looked at the registration situation, and asked, "How many people are there now?"

"I don't know! And whether you're the real one or a clone, don't bother me right now!" Hermione was very annoyed. The number of participants was simply too much, and even with Victor's Thought Projections helping, she was still a bit overwhelmed. In addition, she was still angry about being forced to get the guild emblem earlier.

But Victor didn't want to indulge Hermione's little temper. In the guild, no one dared to treat him with this kind of attitude except for the old man. Moreover, he was the guild master now. If he couldn't even handle a little girl, what kind of authority would he have as a master?!

And so, to everyone's shock, Victor created another Thought Projection. He had it take over Hermione's work, and then he picked up Hermione like a kitten.

"Ah~ Victor, what are you doing?! Let me go!" Hermione's face instantly turned bright red. With so many people watching, she was momentarily overwhelmed with shyness. But since she was in mid-air and couldn't get a foothold, she could only let Victor drag her toward the corridor.

In a corridor in the Hogwarts courtyard, Victor put Hermione down, then pretended to be fierce, and pinched her cheeks with both hands. "Try being fierce with me again?!"

"Let go of me!!!" Hermione said, struggling angrily.

"No!" Victor continued to pinch, and he leaned in closer, his nose a hand's width away from Hermione's face. "Are you going to stop throwing a tantrum?!"

Feeling the warm breath on her face and looking around, Hermione's face instantly turned as red as a simmering copper kettle. She had already noticed that many people were curiously looking at her, and her heart immediately panicked.

"Let go, I won't throw a tantrum anymore!" Hermione said, grabbing Victor's wrists in front of her anxiously. Seeing the cute, "steaming" expression on the young witch's face, Victor felt a sense of relief. He figured he had teased her enough, so he let go with a satisfied smile.

But after she was released, Hermione looked at Victor's grinning and proud face and was immediately infuriated. She pushed him hard on the chest with her still-flushed face, then ran away angrily.

And so, the selection continued…

In fact, there were only two challenges Victor had set for the selection.

The content of the first challenge was to test the participants' ability to sense magic power. Victor had set up a Magic Power Gathering Array in a lawn in the courtyard. The challenge was for the participants to enter the array and sense the magic power. If they could condense a visible magic particle within half an hour, they would be qualified to enter the next challenge.

However, this first round alone had already deterred many people. Because no one knew what the concept of magic power was, when Cedric explained the rules of the challenge, all the young wizards looked confused and entered the Magic Power Gathering Array reluctantly.

The result was that after half an hour, only two out of the first batch of thirty people passed, a staggering elimination rate of 97%.

The second selection challenge was a magical illusion that greatly tested a person's character. The challenger had to enter a 25-square-meter deserted island in the sea. All their memories of magic would be erased, and they would have to endure seven days of extreme survival with an ordinary friend (a fictional character in the illusion). However, the food and fresh water on the island could only last for two people for a maximum of four days. This challenge was mainly to test the character of the challenger.

And just as the entire guild selection was proceeding smoothly, at the information desk, Hermione naturally ran into two familiar young Gryffindors.

"Harry, Ron! You guys are here for the selection too?"

Harry awkwardly scratched his head. "We just came to give it a try."

"It's not just the two of us. Fred and George are here too," Ron said, pointing to a pair of red-haired twins who were excitedly rubbing their hands not far behind them. "We also had a part in building and renovating that room. In any case, we have to try and see if we can get into Fairy Tail!"

"Alright, since you're here, sign up and register your personal information!" Hermione nodded, then handed them two copies of the registration form.

Harry and Ron took the forms and looked at them. Besides the options for name, gender, age, and special skills, there was nothing else.

After a while, Hermione quickly collected their two registration forms, then pointed in Cedric's direction and said, "Follow the group to that plaza over there. Someone will guide you on what to do! I wish you good luck."

"Thanks!" Harry and Ron said, then quickly walked in the direction of the Magic Power Gathering Array.

Time slowly passed, and the first round of the Magic Power Gathering Array challenge didn't end until 1:30 in the afternoon.

According to the statistics, a total of 617 people from Hogwarts participated in the selection, and now a total of 63 people had temporarily passed the first round. After a short break, these 63 people had all entered the second round of the illusion challenge.

"Did everyone go in?" Victor asked, walking up to Cedric and looking at the dark entrance of the tent.

"Yes, everyone went in, and the process went smoothly!" Cedric said, fiddling with the registration form in his hand, then asked with a strange expression, "Master, isn't this challenge you set a little too cruel?"

He had experienced the second round of the illusion test once yesterday, and to be honest, it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Victor said, patting Cedric on the shoulder. "If they were adults, almost no one would be able to complete this challenge! But these young wizards who are new to the world are still relatively simple-minded, so I'm confident that some of them can pass the test!"

And as he was talking, a familiar name suddenly caught his eye, and Victor said in surprise, "Luna? She's here too?!"

"Luna? Are you talking about Luna Lovegood?" Cedric asked, looking at the name on the registration form. "I remember her. She's a very unique girl. Is she the one who inherited the Ravenclaw diadem?"

"Yes, she is a natural-born Ravenclaw!" Victor nodded.
