Chapter 57 - A Scuffle of Snakes and Eagles

Just as Victor was contemplating a possible trip to hell, in the headmaster's office at Hogwarts, Dumbledore placed a cup of black tea on his desk with a blank expression. Truth be told, he was not at all happy about the arrival of the blond man in front of him.

"Welcome, Lucius! Did the Board of Governors have another special request?" Dumbledore asked with a hint of sarcasm.

The man was none other than Draco's father, the head of the ancient, wealthy, and influential pure-blood wizarding family, the Malfoys: Lucius Malfoy.

With his pale blonde hair, cold grey-blue eyes, and pointed, pale face, he was almost a carbon copy of Snape, except for his luxurious clothes. In the original Harry Potter books, this Malfoy was arrogant, deeply cunning, and good at controlling everything. He had joined the ranks of the Death Eaters after graduating in 1972 and was absolutely terrified of his master, Voldemort.

In a sense, the Malfoy family's wealth and power played a crucial role in Voldemort's insane expansion of power in the late 70s and early 80s.

Although he had escaped the Ministry of Magic's purge ten years ago after Voldemort's downfall by paying a hefty price and claiming he had been under the Imperius Curse, Dumbledore knew that not even a three-year-old wizard would believe that…

In response to Dumbledore's sarcastic question, Lucius's face was arrogant and stiff. He spoke with an unquestionable tone, "I came here for only one purpose: to represent the Board of Governors and demand the expulsion of that student named Victor Dreyar from Hogwarts."

Dumbledore was silent for a moment before saying, "The reason…"

"You know what I'm talking about." Lucius slammed the head of his serpent-headed cane on the carpet and threw the comic book his son had secretly brought home onto the ground. "That student, Dreyar. I don't care how he knew about these things, but his presence at Hogwarts will only bring great danger to the students!"

Dumbledore glanced at the comic on the ground, took a cockroach cluster from a glass jar, and put it in his mouth. "Lucius, unlike him, you at least have a family to care for, don't you?"

This made Lucius's stiff jaw twitch twice. To be honest, when he had accidentally found this comic book in his son's room, he was so terrified he could barely stand. He knew very well that Voldemort was not dead, as the Dark Mark on his arm had never faded.

The content of this comic was a great insult and blasphemy to Voldemort. If Voldemort ever came back and found out that his son Draco had seen this comic book, he couldn't even begin to imagine the consequences.

So, in his fear, he first destroyed the comic book hidden in Draco's room and then, after making some inquiries to find out the source of the comic, rushed to Hogwarts without a second thought.

His goal was to get the author of the comic expelled from Hogwarts to save his son from becoming collateral damage when Voldemort sought revenge…

"Victor Dreyar, I will not expel him." Dumbledore said with a blank expression in response to Lucius's demand. "I know what you are worried about. In fact, Voldemort was in the Forbidden Forest last night."

After Victor's comment of "coward" last night, Dumbledore no longer cared about the so-called curse of the name. But Lucius's face immediately turned pale upon hearing the name. He tried to suppress the trembling in his body, his right hand tightly clutching his cane. "No! That's impossible!!!"

"I have no reason to lie to you, Lucius," Dumbledore said calmly. "And your son was also in the Forbidden Forest last night, but he was lucky enough not to have met Voldemort."

"I want to take Draco away from here!" Lucius said, turning around and running toward the oak door of the headmaster's office. He yanked at the handle a few times, but it wouldn't open. He turned around to look at Dumbledore in shock.

"I'm sorry, Lucius." Dumbledore suddenly radiated a terrifying aura, and the blue glow in his eyes kept flowing. "You must explain some things before you can leave here."

At that moment, this follower of Voldemort once again experienced the might of the Light Lord.

.....

Meanwhile, in the Great Hall at Hogwarts, the little lions were discussing a strange event that had happened today.

"Hey, did you guys know? I heard from some Ravenclaws that the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor has been replaced with Snape!" Seamus Finnigan, a creative with a penchant for explosions, said in a low voice, taking a bite out of a chicken leg.

"What?!" Upon hearing this bad news, Ron immediately wilted like a frost-bitten eggplant. "Potions is bad enough, but do I have to suffer through Snape's torture in Defense Against the Dark Arts too?!"

"I think it's a good thing. I couldn't stand Professor Quirrell's strong garlic smell anymore. Every time I went to Defense Against the Dark Arts, I would get a headache from the stench." Neville frowned, looking disgusted. He was one of the few people who didn't have a strong dislike for Snape.

"I think Professor Quirrell was really afraid of vampires, which is why he doused himself in garlic essence," Fred suddenly interjected. "Do you think he suddenly disappeared because a vampire took him while he was taking a bath?"

Everyone rolled their eyes at Fred's ridiculous idea. They knew that the last vampire who dared to get close to Hogwarts was tied to a cross and given a sunbath for a few days, getting a tan in three layers and then a little rest.

"Seamus, did you hear why Snape suddenly started teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts?" Harry, connecting this to Snape wanting to steal the Philosopher's Stone, felt that there must be something fishy going on.

"I'm not entirely sure!" Seamus shrugged and said, "I just heard from the Ravenclaws that Professor Quirrell won't be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts for the rest of the term. But I'm guessing it has something to do with the explosion last night, otherwise, it wouldn't be such a coincidence! I don't know what exactly happened last night, but I'm sure it's related to Professor Quirrell's disappearance!"

"I think that's very likely!" Neville also agreed. "My bed is right by the window. After I was woken up last night, I saw a lot of red and gold flashes from the Forbidden Forest."

Hearing this, Harry and Hermione exchanged glances. They knew that what Neville had seen was definitely the light from Victor and Voldemort's battle.

"Harry, that couldn't have been…"

"Shut up!!!"

Before Ron could finish his sentence, Harry and Hermione interrupted him in unison. This was about Voldemort! How could they talk about it so casually in front of everyone? It was easy to drag the surrounding lions into unnecessary danger.

However, Ron didn't seem to understand what they meant. He stared at his two friends with wide eyes, looking as if to say, "Why?" But he was only met with two pairs of rolling eyes.

At the same time, a little eagle suddenly rushed out of the Great Hall, took off directly from the corridor, and flew straight to her common room.

Dinner time was almost over, but Victor was still in the library, looking through information about Fiendfyre. He wanted to gather as much intelligence as possible so he could be well-prepared for his trip to hell.

But just then, Hermione rushed into the library. Without a word, she burst into the Restricted Section, then grabbed Victor's hand, gasping for breath, "Vic… Victor, the third floor, the third-floor corridor!"

"What's the matter?!" Victor asked in surprise, with question marks appearing over his head. "Did Voldemort attack again?"

"You… you'll see for yourself…"

With that, she dragged Victor all the way to the third-floor corridor of the school. In front of them, a chaotic scene of spells flying everywhere unfolded, as three groups of little eagles and a group of little snakes were fighting for some unknown reason.

"What… why are they fighting?!" Victor asked, shocked by the sight.

"I don't know. We were just having dinner, and we suddenly heard a loud noise from outside the Great Hall. So we all ran out to see what was going on, and we found them fighting for some reason," Hermione explained.

"What about the professors?"

"Someone went to tell them, but I don't know why…"

Hermione was also very confused. It had been at least five or six minutes since the fight started. Why hadn't a single professor come to stop them? But now was not the time to think about that!

Hermione put those questions aside and anxiously pointed to the closed door at the end of the third-floor corridor. "Victor, you have to stop them! They're about to get to Fluffy!"

If a young wizard accidentally knocked open that door, Fluffy, the three-headed dog, would be more than happy to eat the food delivered to his doorstep.

"Fluffy, that three-headed dog!" Victor used a peeping spell to look behind the door and found that Dumbledore hadn't gotten rid of that childish puzzle game yet.

"Forget it, I'll figure out the situation first!" Victor saw that the snakes and eagles were completely out of control, with all sorts of curses flying around the corridor. He pulled out his wand and pointed it forward. "Immobulus!"

The spell instantly froze both sides of the fight in place.

Victor put away his wand and walked over. He first lifted the magic on the little eagles and then pinned all the little snakes to the wall. It was not like the Ravenclaw eagles to cause trouble, so for such a huge conflict to suddenly erupt, there had to be an unknown reason behind it.

So, Victor looked at the little eagle closest to him, who had an East Asian face.

"Cho Chang, what happened?"
