Chapter 27 - The Diadem of Ravenclaw

After leaving the Room of Requirement, Victor grabbed a random Gryffindor on the way, asked for directions, and soon arrived at the Great Hall. The moment he walked in, he saw his target.

Victor quietly approached Harry and Hermione from behind. Ron, who was sitting opposite Harry, saw a figure suddenly appear behind his friend and let out a startled scream.

"Ahh!" Ron shot up from his chair. Harry and Hermione looked at Ron in confusion, then followed his terrified gaze to see the person they had just been discussing standing right behind them.

"Victor!" Hermione exclaimed, sounding a little excited.

"Hello there!" Victor said, ruffling Hermione's hair vigorously.

"You've ruined my hair!" Hermione angrily slapped Victor's hand away, giving him a few punches on the arm for good measure. Her hair was naturally long, thick, and curly, and it was a mess to manage. With Victor's handiwork, it was now completely disheveled.

"Go away, I'm not talking to you!" Hermione snapped, glaring at Victor as she tried to fix her hair. Since Victor had no prior interaction with Harry or Ron, she had subconsciously assumed he was there to see her. She was wrong.

Victor tapped Hermione's head with his milky white wand, instantly making her hair smooth again. "I'm not here for you, I'm here for him," he said, smiling as he clapped a hand on Harry's shoulder.

"Me?!" Harry was surprised and confused. It hadn't even been a week since school started, and he hadn't met all of the Gryffindors in his year, let alone had any interactions with the school's celebrity.

"I need your help with something," Victor said, smiling at Harry.

"What… what kind of help?" Harry asked nervously. His upbringing had made him a little introverted around strangers.

"Don't ask for details, just come with me. As a reward, I'll teach you how to fly with the Levitation Charm."

Victor had obviously overheard their conversation earlier.

"O-okay, I'll go," Harry said, hesitating for a moment before agreeing. He must have inherited his father's genes and had a natural love for flying.

In the first film, Harry had no fear of heights during his first flying lesson and was even granted special permission by Professor McGonagall to join the Gryffindor Quidditch team as a first-year.

Victor didn't believe for a second that he didn't have a knack for it.

Seeing that Harry had agreed, Victor was about to grab him and take off. But he was stopped by Hermione, who grabbed his robes.

"Hermione, we can talk, but please stop grabbing my clothes whenever you need something. Sometimes I don't react quickly enough, and you could get hurt!" Victor said, turning back to face her with a helpless expression.

His flying speed varied; when he was going fast, and someone grabbed him, it would be a minor issue for the robe, as he could fix it with magic. But the person holding on might not be so lucky. A fall could cause a dislocated joint or a broken arm, and a fall from several feet or even dozens of feet could be fatal.

"I'm coming with you, and in exchange, you have to teach me how to fly with the Levitation Charm!" Hermione said, holding on to Victor's clothes.

"Come where? I'm taking Harry to do something important!" Victor flicked her forehead. "If you want to learn, have Harry teach you when he gets back!"

Without another word, he grabbed Harry and flew away.

"Damn it, Victor Dreyar, you just wait!" Hermione said, clutching her forehead in anger. "Don't expect me to teach you how to brew potions during class ever again!"

"He's a Ravenclaw. He's not in our classes much anyway," Ron said meekly from the side, which earned him another glare.

On the other side of the Great Hall, under the gaze of many Hogwarts students, Victor brought Harry to the eighth floor.

"This is the Room of Requirement, a very secretive place at Hogwarts," Victor said, pushing open the door. "I brought you here to help me find something."

"Find something?!" Harry looked at the endless junk in front of him, confused and a little overwhelmed. "Shouldn't you have brought more people to find something? It's just me, and I can't even do magic."

Hearing Harry's words, Victor smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "You're the only one who can find this. Trust me, just use your instincts and look for something that draws you in."

"O-okay," Harry said, licking his lips nervously. He began to wander through the mountains of junk. At first, he thought Victor was being ridiculous. It was absurd to think he could find something that drew him in among so many items, and without magic, no less. But for some reason, after walking for a while, Harry had a feeling that something was calling out to him. At the same time, his lightning bolt scar started to burn and ache.

Following this strange feeling, Harry wandered for about ten minutes until he arrived at a dusty round table. On the table was a brass armillary sphere, an unknown tower-like decoration, and a large tangle of rope wound around an item between the two.

Harry stared at the rope, feeling that something there was constantly pulling him closer. At the same time, a strange dread came over him, and the burning sensation on his forehead was almost unbearable.

Just as Harry was lost in a daze, Victor suddenly appeared next to him and pressed an ice pack to Harry's head.

"Did you find it?" Victor asked. Harry, who had just been brought back to his senses by the ice pack, didn't say anything. He just looked at Victor and nervously pointed to the ropes.

Victor ran over excitedly, removed the ropes from the round table, and revealed a square wooden box underneath. He gently opened the box to reveal a sparkling, jewel-encrusted tiara lying on a bronze-colored velvet cloth.

Victor carefully picked up the diadem and examined it. Engraved on the base of the crown was Rowena Ravenclaw's famous motto: "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure."

There was no doubt that this was what Victor had been looking for, the relic of Ravenclaw House, the Diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw.

"What is this?" Harry asked, walking over curiously. Perhaps because of the ice pack, or for some other reason, the burning sensation on his forehead had now faded.

"A diadem…" Victor replied vaguely, then slowly put the diadem back down. "Thank you, Harry!"

Victor tapped Harry's forehead with his finger, and a miniature yellow magic circle flashed and disappeared. "That's the method for flying with the Levitation Charm. Whether you can learn it is up to you."

With that, Victor used spatial magic and sent him away.

Meanwhile, in the Hogwarts Great Hall, Ron was bored, fiddling with his wizard chess set because Harry had been pulled away by Victor. But suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Ron saw a shadow flash across from him. He quickly looked up to see his friend sitting in front of him, looking completely bewildered.

"Harry?!" Ron said, shocked. "When did you get back?"

"Just… just now…" Harry was still a bit out of it. He looked around and saw that he was back in the Great Hall. "Victor used some kind of magic to send me back from a room on the eighth floor."

"He can Apparate?!" Ron said in disbelief. "Wait! Victor Dreyar, what did he want you to do?"

"He asked me to help him find something, a diadem with a very big jewel on it," Harry replied.

"A diadem? What does he want a diadem for? And why would he need you to find it?" Ron asked, puzzled. "His magic is so powerful, how could he not find a diadem?"

"I don't know," Harry said, shaking his head. "But I think the reason I could find it might have something to do with the scar on my forehead, or with Vol…"

"Shh! Quiet, Harry! Don't say that name out loud!"

"Sorry," Harry said.

Ron looked left and right, and seeing that no one was around, he asked, "Then why are you so sure that this… diadem has something to do with Vo…?"

"When I found the diadem, the scar on my forehead was burning hot. I remember when I was buying my wand in Diagon Alley, Mr. Ollivander told me that this scar was left by Voldemort," Harry said quietly.

"This… then could Victor Dreyar have something to do with Vol…?" Ron asked in a panicked voice.

Harry shook his head. "I think we should go find Hagrid. He might know something."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" With that, Harry and Ron immediately ran out into the pouring rain toward Hagrid's hut.
