When he woke up from being carted and was dropped off at the entrance of the base, his mind was still foggy.
But the very next moment, David sprang up from the ground and threw a punch into the air with force. "HELL YEAHHHHHH—!!"

Even though he was carted, and lost all his implants—including the Sandevistan—because of the body reset, David could feel that something inside him had changed.
"Next time! I will… finish him off!!!" David clenched his fists, full of confidence.
"I wonder how everyone else is doing…"
Once his excitement cooled down, David regained his calm and started thinking about the others.
Had Kairo Retsu managed to get Arasaka Raizen out of Konpeki Plaza?
Had the rest of the team escaped safely?
And what about Jackie and V—fellow Night City locals—were they okay, or were they terrified?
With all sorts of thoughts in his mind, David opened his Gathering Hub panel, wanting to check for updates from Kairo's side. As soon as he did, he saw Kairo arrogantly bragging on the channel.
"You guys probably don't understand what it means to carry an Arasaka heir out from under a swarm of enemies. We usually describe people like that with two words: Gambling Monster," Kairo was boasting. "You think those guys could catch me? I play Assassin's Creed. Stealth is my specialty. Look—I've already got Arasaka Raizen out of the city, and no one's even noticed…"
"Liar gremlin! Bullsh*t goblin!!! You totally got spotted by a whole gang of people on the way!!" Kazuma ruthlessly exposed the shameless Guildmaster's lies in the channel. "You KO'd all those security guards and escaped by force! If Joseph hadn't been there, you'd be wanted already!!"
"I told you guys—I play Assassin's Creed…" Kairo shamelessly kept at it. "We Brotherhood folks operate like this. As long as no one remembers seeing us, it still counts as stealth…"
"What kind of Assassin is that?" Naofumi Iwatani replied in disbelief. "Sounds more like a Berserker."
"That makes sense! If no one sees you, it's fine! I'll try that next time too," said Rakuro optimistically.
"Guildmaster." David also joined the conversation. "You made it out already? What about everyone else?"
"Yep, we're out." Kairo replied. "We're in a car now, heading for the temporary camp near the Kirin. David, just hop on a Wingdrake and meet us there…"
"Everyone's made it out safely. Jackie and V, too… V's also heading to the camp, so we can have an honest talk there," Kairo continued. "Come on, David. Time to meet Arasaka Raizen. If you really want to change Night City… this is your first step."
"..."
David was silent for a moment. Then, he said goodbye to the Palicoes at the base and rode a Wingdrake toward the camp near the Kirin…
Meanwhile, during David's flight to the camp, V had also arrived there with Joseph and Kazuma. Afterward, Joseph and Kazuma planned to return to the base to enjoy a nice Felyne meal and get some rest.
But that couldn't hide the shock and anger on V's face.
"What the hell is this about kidnapping Arasaka Raizen?! Are you insane?!"
Having arrived at the camp, V stared at the bound and dazed Raizen in disbelief.
She must've been possessed to agree to take part in this whole mess.
Kairo Retsu had said they just wanted to talk with Arasaka Raizen…
What kind of "talk" required dragging him to this godforsaken place!?
And why the hell was there a full-on tent camp in this wasteland!?
V looked around, confused by the massive upright-walking Palicoes and the full-blown Hunter camp. She tapped her cybernetic eye in disbelief.
Since arriving here, her sensors had been constantly distorted by electromagnetic interference… she even started to question if she was seeing things.
Kairo plopped Raizen onto a nearby chair and rummaged through a supply box, pulling out an Energy Drink and preparing to wake him up.
V was so mad she nearly punched Kairo. "Do you have any idea what's going to happen to us after this?! Arasaka will KILL us! You bastard—did you pull us into this on purpose?!"
"Take a seat. We do want to talk with you," Kairo said while digging through the box. "Remember when I asked if you were interested in Braindances? Well, Rakuro helped me prep one yesterday. I asked Rogue for a full BD suite and turned it into a custom Braindance."
Kairo turned around, holding out a BD headset toward V. "Once you've seen this, you'll understand why you're involved in this."
"To be honest, I don't know where you'll end up. Which ending you'll reach. But after watching this…"
Kairo smiled.
"I think it's going to be interesting."
"You…" V stared at the Braindance device in his hand. After a moment's hesitation, she finally took it, put it on, and sat down to begin playback.
She didn't have any other choice.
She had to find out just what the hell Kairo was trying to show her.
As the device began to flicker, V slowly sank into the Braindance.
The first scene—
Jack, dressed in a suit, covered in blood, collapsed inside a car.
Then darkness.
Next moment, a man with a silver cybernetic arm stood atop a pile of rubble, staring down at her ruined body and speaking:
"Wake the f* up, Samurai. We've got a city to burn."**
Watching V slip into full immersion, Kairo scratched his chin in satisfaction.
It was raw footage Rakuro had captured on his laptop. Kairo just trimmed it down and edited it into a Braindance all at once.
Streetkid V. Hidden Ending. Let my broken body ignite the flames...
"Guildmaster, what… what's going on?" David walked into the tent at that moment. He stared, confused, at the unconscious Arasaka Raizen and the nearby V wearing the BD gear.
"Just something to get you hyped. You ready to meet your new business partner?" Kairo tossed him a bottle of Energy Drink, then opened one for Raizen himself.
"Let's go make Night City… our own."
