"The... God of Creation?" Vaelric asked, the words leaving him more slowly than he intended, as though his mouth had to shape them around something too large for speech.
For a long moment, he simply stood there, unable to reconcile what he had just heard with everything he had believed all his life.
The breeze drifted lazily through the endless meadow, carrying petals across the emerald grass between them. In the distance, crystal streams shimmered beneath the golden sky, untouched by the weight of the revelation that had just settled upon the young prince's shoulders.
Caelion watched him patiently. Gods, it seemed, had little need to rush conversations that would change the course of eternity.
"Yes," the Wind God replied at last, his voice as calm as the breeze surrounding them. "Or rather..." A faint smile touched his lips. "I believe that is what you eventually become."
Vaelric slowly raised his eyes.
