Emily and Laura chatted till noon, they've have been apart for a while now and decided to catch up on what they missed out on.
"I heard Nick got out." Emily said worriedly.
Laura didn't respond immediately, she also had a worried expression on her face.
"But he shouldn't be out now, he got three more years to stay there." Laura pondered on what exactly was going on.
It seems like someone helped him out but isn't that against the law.
Nick was Laura's ex boyfriend when she was in college.
He was sweet and kind, more like a gentle man until one day he started physically abusing her.
Laura had to endure because he threatened to do something awful to her family and he also claimed that he had some naked pictures to use against her if she dares leave him.
Everything turned out to be a lie.
The pictures weren't Laura's but some other girls he found on the Internet.
He had connections around and felt he could get away with anything.
Laura who was violently abused couldn't talk to anyone about it eventually her brother noticed the red marks on her body and interrogated her till she spoke the truth.
Noah was furious and upset at the same time.
His sister had to go through all that and he didn't know about it.
He took legal actions and Noah was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
But it wasn't even up to five years and he got out.
How is that possible?
Someone definitely helped him out. But who?
"We need to be extra careful, he might want to get back at us and do nasty things. Baby you can't let your guard down." Emily said seriously.
Laura understood immediately.
Noah was a complete psychopath and she shouldn't cross path with him in the future now that he's out of prison.
She wondered how she fell in love with someone like him in the first place.
Nick was kind and gentle with her, he was always afraid of hurting her.
But he changed suddenly...
He didn't care anymore and slept around with her friends.
He even started hitting her.
But even refused to break up with her.
It's best they don't meet each other in the future at all.
Emily noticed the topic made Laura uncomfortable and quickly changed it to lighten the mood.
"Now that you got the job,what are you planning on wearing,I doubt you have that prepared." Emily said while staring at Laura.
"I -I do, I might as well go shopping for shoes, would you accompany me? There's still little time." Laura smiled brightly.
Emily smiled and nodded.
"I know a good store for shoes we can go there and won't have to break the bank." Emily said seriously.
She knew her friends condition and didn't want her to spend much on clothes.
"Don't worry,I saved a lot and haven't even touched my allowance,we can go to a nice store for clothes and shoes."
Laura wanted quality wears and not the type that would wear off after washing them once.
She will be working at Miller's Group now so she better upgrade her closet.
She remembered how nice the receptionist dressed.
Those things would matter to them, if she dressed poorly they would definitely mock her for it.
She didn't want to look bad in the first day of work.
Emily knew it was because she would be working in a big company now so she better buy nice clothes and shoes.
She agreed and they left the restaurant together.
