Fischl had the day off.
She'd originally planned to just wander around town aimlessly,
but when she passed through the plaza and heard a bard telling a tale,
her interest was immediately piqued…
The moment she started listening, she was instantly hooked.
Eight children are transported into the Digital World, where they battle all sorts of powerful Digimon.
And their Digimon partners fight bravely alongside them.
In the end, they defeat evil and mighty monsters!
It all sounded very familiar to her—like her and Oz.
If Oz could evolve and become even stronger,
Wouldn't that make her even more fitting as the Prinzessin der Verurteilung?
Then, when she heard the bard say that this little shop offered rewards through reading manga,
and that the Maine Coon Beast at his feet came from a manga, Fischl got excited.
"A mere bard, who has yet to comprehend the magnificence of the Immernachtreich—what he considers 'magical' must surely seem mundane before the all-seeing eyes of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung. But no matter. This Prinzessin shall inspect this establishment herself. Solace Book House should consider it a lifetime honor!"
After delivering her chuunibyou speech, Fischl could barely contain her excitement as she rushed toward the address Venti had mentioned.
At the plaza,
As Venti finished his story, the crowd slowly dispersed.
"Not a bad tale, you bard. Now I kinda want to watch Digimon Adventure: Season 1 myself,"
Paimon walked up to greet him.
"You two are here too? Come on, let's go read some manga together!"
Venti grinned and invited Lumine and Paimon.
Lumine: (⊙⊙)
Paimon: (⊙⊙)
Hold on a second—
You've already got the Skyward Harp,
Shouldn't your priority now be saving Stormterror?
And here you are, thinking about manga??
So we got wanted posters slapped on us for nothing?!
"Eh-heh, just kidding!"
Venti waved his hand.
Lumine and Paimon both eyed him suspiciously.
If they hadn't shown up here, this guy probably would have gone off to read manga.
"Let's go find Master Diluc,"
Venti said.
"Master Diluc?"
"Yeah, I went to see him last night. He agreed to help me arrange a meeting with Acting Grand Master Jean, to talk about the Stormterror situation. Let's go together."
Venti invited them.
This matter really did need the Traveler's help.
"Alright!"
Lumine nodded.
It would be good to explain everything to Jean in person.
Being publicly wanted like this was really uncomfortable.
On the other side of town—
Fischl moved fast.
Before long, she arrived at the front door of Solace Book House.
"This must be the place!"
With curiosity burning in her heart, Fischl walked in with Oz.
"Welcome, Miss Fischl,"
A warm, pleasant voice greeted her.
Fischl looked up to see a handsome, black-haired youth smiling at her.
"You… you know who I am?"
Fischl was a little surprised.
But remembering what Venti had said about the mysterious nature of this store, it didn't seem so strange.
"I shall now properly introduce myself.
I am the ruler of the Immernachtreich, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung—Fischl!
I have carved out a universe apart, and divided Eden into dominions.
I judge all the sins of this world, and comprehend all truths of this realm."
Her full-on chuunibyou declaration stunned Amber and Eula, who had been reading manga nearby.
"...Who is that girl? She seems... pretty unique?"
Eula watched the eyepatch-wearing girl, clearly unsure of how to describe what she was seeing.
Who talks like that in real life?
"I think Lisa mentioned her before. Said she's a good kid who likes reading books,"
Amber was also at a loss.
This girl didn't quite match the rumors. Not by a long shot.
"The young lady means to say: She is an investigator with the Adventurers' Guild.
A pleasure to meet you, shopkeeper."
Oz translated calmly at her side.
He'd seen this kind of thing too many times to be fazed.
"Want to read manga? 100,000 Mora per book. One per day,"
Han Feng said with a smile.
"Rejoice! That you should have the honor of letting the Prinzessin der Verurteilung browse your books shall be the greatest pride of your mortal life!"
"...Hmm?"
Han Feng raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Ahem… This Prinzessin is willing to lower herself to read one."
Fischl obediently took out 100,000 Mora.
It was a small amount for her.
"The manga shelf is over there."
Han Feng pointed.
Fischl, accompanied by Oz, walked toward it.
"One Piece – East Blue Arc, Digimon Adventure Season 1, and Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai?"
Seeing the third title, Fischl paused.
She had originally planned to read Digimon Adventure.
Maybe she could earn a reward to help Oz evolve.
But when she saw Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions,
She suddenly had the urge to read that one instead.
It was as if something was calling to her.
"Are you the one resonating with me? Very well. You shall be the Contracted Tome!"
In the end, Fischl chose Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions.
