Chapter 22 - chapter 22: Xiao Wu's Mother, Ah Wu ( Re write)

The girl in the pink dress immediately rose in alarm.

Five soul rings....two yellow, two purple, one black....flared around her, and her eyes reflected both tension and fierce resolve.

"Xiao Wu!" she shouted, frustration evident in her tone. The little rabbit kept her head lowered, unwilling to meet her gaze.

Suddenly, a black figure emerged behind them. The girl's eyes widened further.

"The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger… how did it come here? And where are Daming and Erming?"

Before she could act, the tiger lay sideways like a spoiled kitten, purring and begging to be petted.

Bang!

Howl!

Yuan Longxuan now fully understood the tiger's limits: shameless and boundless. Whenever it came near him, it would simply sprawl out, begging for affection.

A swift kick to its rear elicited a comical howl of pain.

Ignoring the tiger, Yuan Longxuan focused on the girl standing by the Lake of Life.

So this was Xiao Wu's mother. Surprisingly young-looking, perhaps only eighteen or nineteen after her recent human transformation.

Yet in Xiao Wu's presence, she remained the image of a mother....stern, yet warm.

"Greetings, miss. I hope my sudden visit is not too intrusive," Yuan Longxuan said politely, bowing slightly.

Even in a forest teeming with soul beasts, manners mattered.

Just as the dust began to settle, the Titan Giant Ape and the Sky-Blue Bull Python....partners in both battle and mischief....finally thundered back, shaking the forest floor with each step.

They had never expected Xiao Wu, the mischievous little rabbit, to actually bring a terrifyingly powerful human, Yuan Longxuan, back to her home.

"It's… it's him? Back here in our territory?" Titan Giant Ape muttered, disbelief coloring his deep voice.

"You mean… she actually brought him home? Not just a quick tour, but all the way inside?" Sky-Blue Bull Python's scales shimmered with unease.

Xiao Wu's mother....Ah Wu....stood at the edge of their forest clearing, her face flushed with anger.

She had never imagined a stranger could be brought directly to her home without her permission.

"Xiao Wu! What exactly is going on here?" Ah Wu demanded, voice sharp yet tinged with maternal concern.

"Mom… I…" Xiao Wu stammered, trying to explain, while Daming and Erming, the two other beast kings, exchanged nervous glances.

After an exhaustive explanation.....far too long to recount here....Ah Wu finally understood the situation.

Her first instinct was disbelief, then helplessness.

The girl had brought a human, someone whose presence could threaten their entire family's soul rings and bones, right into their core territory.

"Don't worry," Yuan Longxuan said casually, reading the concern in Ah Wu's gaze.

"I am only curious about what the core area of Star Dou Forest looks like. Your soul rings and soul bones hold no interest to me."

He knew exactly what she was thinking. Any rational being would covet ten-thousand-year soul rings and bones.

Yet to Yuan Longxuan, they were meaningless.

The system's storehouse had already supplied him with a full set of million-year Dragon God soul bones; there was no need to seek more.

Still, some display of power was necessary to maintain authority.

He channeled a stable barrier around them, and in the next instant, revealed his Dragon God Martial Soul, flaring nine colossal soul rings of 990,000 years each.

The rainbow-colored Dragon God coiled around Yuan Longxuan, an overwhelming aura pressing down upon the three beast kings and Ah Wu.

Even though the display lasted only a single second, it felt like a century to those who witnessed it.

Fear paralyzed them, keeping their heads bowed and bodies trembling.

Retracting his Martial Soul and soul rings, Yuan Longxuan looked at Ah Wu, now completely slumped and exhausted, and at the three beast kings, still kneeling in terror.

Ah Wu's eyes were wide with fear. Xiao Wu and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger also shivered violently at the sight of their savior's sheer dominance.

The tiger, in particular, was overwhelmed with relief.....thankful for having surrendered before the Death Arena had been invoked. Its sturdy body could not have withstood Yuan Longxuan's full power.

Yuan Longxuan walked calmly to Ah Wu, who struggled to sit upright, trembling violently.

The three beast kings....Daming, Erming, and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger.....felt their hearts clench.

They feared Yuan Longxuan might harm her, and their anxiety was palpable.

But Yuan Longxuan's next action was unexpected. He extended his arms and scooped Ah Wu into a classic "princess carry."

"Relax," he said softly. "I am only here to observe. I have no interest in your soul rings or bones."

He added silently, I just want to experience a simple, peaceful visit....like Meng De's style of relaxation.

His eyes scanned the modest wooden home in the clearing. "So, this is where you live?"

Ah Wu froze, stunned. She was a Hundred-thousand-year Soft-Bone Rabbit in human form, not yet fully matured...but this human didn't intend to harm her.

"Uh… yes?" she murmured, careful not to take a breath too loudly.

One wrong move, and she feared Yuan Longxuan's wrath might fall upon her, Xiao Wu, or the three beast kings.

Yuan Longxuan chuckled lightly. "Your transformed little rabbit is quite interesting.

I also know another little girl from the Blue Silver Emperor line....has she transformed too?"

Ah Wu's eyes widened. Blue Silver Emperor transformed? Ah Yin too? When did that happen?

"You mean Ah Yin?" Ah Wu repeated in surprise.

Yuan Longxuan nodded. "Yes. I met her while recovering near the Blue Silver Forest. She differs from you; she has already reached her mature stage."

Ah Wu's surprise deepened. Mature stage? That meant Ah Yin had transformed earlier than she had.

"Pat."

The wooden door of the modest house creaked open as Yuan Longxuan stepped inside.

The room contained simple furniture....a neat bed and a wooden stool. Against one wall was a large haystack, golden in color, with a few tufts of white fur left behind....clearly Xiao Wu's sleeping area.

Despite its simplicity, the room was spotless.

Yuan Longxuan gently placed Ah Wu on the bed and, sensing she might have questions, sat on the wooden stool beside her.

"Where is Ah Yin now? How is she?" Ah Wu asked, worry clear in her tone.

"I left her after helping her recover. She mentioned wanting to explore the human world and is currently residing safely in my tavern. No need to worry."

Ah Wu's tension eased slightly. Knowing Ah Yin was safe eased her mind, though she couldn't ignore the nighttime mischief Ah Yin sometimes caused.
