Chapter 9 - Explosions are Art

"How do you know him?"

Toki had just finished his lap and returned to the starting point when he heard Kushina's question.

"Minato Namikaze?"

"Mm."

"Actually, I just met him. He said Jushinnai-jie jie doesn't seem to like him much, so he didn't come over to say hello." As he spoke, Toki looked at Kushina with some curiosity, conveying his desire for gossip with his eyes.

"It's not really a big deal," Kushina kicked a pebble away.

Toki looked down for a moment, and judging by the depth of the mark on the ground, he felt that kick carried a bit of emotion.

Not good, this smells like a lie.

"Then I won't interact with him anymore."

Kushina shook her head, "No need. Although Minato Namikaze is a sissy, he's quite strong. He was the top student in our year, and his Jonin team leader is Jiraiya-sama."

"A sissy?"

Toki thought back. While Minato Namikaze did speak softly, it wasn't to the point of being a sissy... right?

"Because he always stands by, not acting when he should, and then pretends to comfort people afterwards."

As she said this, Kushina kicked out again, sending another pebble flying.

"I hate him!"

Toki could probably guess what had happened. Just school bullying, nothing unusual, and Minato Namikaze chose to stand by for some reason.

So, Minato Namikaze's purpose in approaching them was clear: likely a desire to make amends due to a guilty conscience.

Given that, he felt much more at ease freeloading his Ninjutsu.

"Then... Jushinnai-jie jie, what... what did you do?" As soon as the words left his mouth, Toki regretted them a little.

However, Kushina showed a bright smile, hands on her hips, "I earned the title of the 'Bloody Habanero'! Anyone who dared to bully me would get pinned to the ground and beaten by me."

That's good.

Toki breathed a slight sigh of relief. If this matter hadn't been handled well, he would have had to investigate, find these people, and then use some petty tricks to get revenge.

He might not be as strong as those guys, but transmigrators have no other special ability except for being cunning, having a lot of knowledge in their heads, and a very flexible moral bottom line.

Just then, Minato Namikaze returned, "Kushina, long time no see."

"Tch."

Kushina crossed her arms, turning her head away and not looking at him at all.

Minato smiled helplessly, then took out a Chakra paper and handed it to Toki, "Toki, just hold it and infuse it with Chakra."

"Thank you."

Toki's voice carried a hint of politeness. As expected, his attitude towards Minato Namikaze would pretty much remain this way from now on.

Following what he had just said, Toki infused Chakra into the paper. The next second, the paper underwent various changes: one area caught fire, one area was torn apart, one area became crumpled, one area became wet, and finally, one area shattered.

A hint of admiration flashed in Minato's eyes, "It seems you have all five elemental affinities. Plus, since you're from the Vortex Clan, your Chakra reserves are naturally immense, making you very suitable for practicing Ninjutsu."

Toki stroked his chin, falling into contemplation.

High mana, all attributes. In other words, he was suited to become a mage, a walking artillery platform.

However, as everyone knows, mages fear close-range assassins, so practicing a powerful Body Flicker Technique is also very important. If there were a Ninjutsu similar to 'Flash' in this world, that would be great.

"Toki, I've mastered Fire, Wind, and Lightning Release Ninjutsu. Which one do you want to learn?" Minato spoke, interrupting his thoughts.

Toki answered without hesitation, "Fire Release."

Every mage's belief is Megumin!

"Alright, then I'll teach you Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique." With that, Minato walked to the training ground's pool.

Minato formed hand signs: Snake—Dragon—Rabbit—Tiger.

"Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!"

A linear stream of flames erupted from his mouth, the end of the flames resembling a carved dragon head. After extending a certain distance, it rapidly expanded, creating a strong visual impact.

"The Dragon Fire Technique emits a linear flame. Its power and speed are quite considerable, making it a mid-range Ninjutsu with some penetrative ability. When combined with a kunai and wire, it can further extend the attack range and precisely target the direction."

After explaining, Minato took out a kunai, tied a wire to its end, and then threw the kunai onto a large tree trunk across the pool.

"Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!"

He performed the hand signs again and exhaled flames. The flames rapidly traveled along the wire in his hand, both its range and speed significantly greater than the previous time. As for its power... that was even more impressive; the flames directly cut the large tree in half.

"Amazing!"

Toki's eyes immediately lit up. After so many years of transmigrating to this world, this was the first time he had directly experienced supernatural power like this.

Nothing is missing, one by one, everything is there!

Compared to Taijutsu or shuriken throwing, breathing fire was clearly much more exciting and supernatural!

Minato pulled the wire, retrieving the kunai and dropping it on the ground by his feet, waiting for it to cool before picking it up.

"I'll teach you this technique now. If you can master it, the next time we meet, I'll teach you an even more powerful Fire Release Ninjutsu."

"You... alright."

Toki pondered for a moment, then finally nodded and agreed.

Minato had already sensed the politeness and distance in his words and actions, but Minato intended to maintain this connection, which is why he spoke that way. Essentially, he wanted to win him over with Ninjutsu.

He didn't hide his intentions, but he also succeeded. For now, Toki really didn't want to refuse stronger, cooler techniques, especially when they were free.

After teaching Toki the Dragon Fire Technique and Body Flicker Technique, Minato wisely took his leave.

Toki wasn't in a hurry to learn these two Ninjutsu. They weren't part of his training plan for today, and if he wasted too much Chakra and couldn't complete his training plan, it would be a net loss.

Afterward, Toki continued to exercise systematically until he was completely exhausted.

Now, he rarely fainted from exhaustion. After resting on Kushina's back for a while, he could even chat with her.

Perhaps Minato Namikaze had stirred Kushina's memories, as she was exceptionally talkative today, recounting many of her past glorious deeds. The short version, however, was: fought so-and-so today, won, the loser called for backup, and she won again.

Kushina had always presented herself as an incredibly tolerant older sister figure in front of him. Only today did Toki realize she had such a violent other side.

But... it was also quite cute.

As they walked, a sweet scent suddenly drifted into Toki's nose.

"Hmm, what's that? It smells so sweet."

Kushina sniffed lightly, "It should be Dango."

Toki remembered the half-bowl of agonizingly bitter tonic waiting for him at home, so he said, "Jushinnai-jie jie, could you take me to buy some?"

"No problem."

Kushina immediately turned and changed direction, following the sweet scent.

Megumin, from "KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!", is a standard flat-chested loli who excels in Explosion Magic.

Explosion Magic, simply put, is powerful magic that causes explosions.
