Yugito's eyes lit up. She immediately summoned everyone and gathered all the ninja in the camp who could use Earth Release techniques. Soon, a complete circle of earthen wall rose up, enclosing the entire Cloud Village camp. However, since Cloud Village wasn't particularly skilled in Earth Release, the wall looked terrible—uneven at best, but most importantly, it was clearly cobbled together piece by piece.
"Boom!"
A thunderous sound rang out, like an explosion, as a small meteor finally crashed onto the ground. The violent blast sent shockwaves outward, ripping apart nearby plants and trees in an instant. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, a massive crater had formed where it hit.
"Crack... crack..."
Fissures spread rapidly across the outer walls of Cloud Village's encampment. Though the meteor struck some distance away from the camp, its impact still cracked the outer walls.
"We survived!"
"Thank goodness that meteor wasn't headed straight for us!"
"Great! We're alive! Alive!"
The ninjas in Cloud Village's camp couldn't help but smile with relief after narrowly escaping death. Just moments ago, they thought their bones would be shattered into pieces—but no one expected the meteor to miss.
"It must've been that brat Sakura!"
Yugito recalled how Sakura had promised to show her a meteor shower that morning. Now everything made sense.
"I'll go ask!" Matatabi said, before swiftly diving her consciousness into the private mental chatroom Sakura had created.
"I knew you'd come asking me!" Sakura was already waiting there. "Please let Yugito know—if her Cloud Village insists on continuing this war, next time, the meteor will land directly inside their village."
"I understand!" Matatabi felt no particular attachment toward Cloud Village, so she showed absolutely no emotional fluctuation while saying this.
"Oh, and if she asks how I brought the meteor down, just say it was a powerful ninja artifact left behind by the First Hokage!"
As Matatabi turned to leave, Sakura quickly added another note. She had no intention of bringing trouble upon herself too early. After all, the First Hokage was long dead—nobody would ever know what kind of treasures he might have left behind to protect Konoha. Using him as a scapegoat was simply perfect.
"I got it!"
Hearing Sakura mention the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, Matatabi involuntarily shuddered. That man was terrifyingly strong—he controlled the Tailed Beasts as effortlessly as one might handle a pet.
After Matatabi returned and relayed Sakura's message, Yugito fell silent without a word. After a long pause, she sighed deeply and reluctantly ordered the camp dismantled, leading everyone back to the border outpost.
Chapter 36: A Displeased Danzo [Fourth Update]
"So then... the matter is considered resolved?!"
Shikaku watched the Cloud Village ninja packing up and retreating, his mind still struggling to catch up. Given Cloud's usual hardline stance, wasn't this withdrawal suspiciously easy? Could there be some kind of trick at play?!
"What else could there be?" Sakura shot back before revealing the truth. "If it had just been a few meteors falling, they wouldn't have been scared off. But I delivered one message—if they continued to be so headstrong and refuse to back down, I'd drop those meteors straight on Cloud Village!"
"I see!" Shikaku suddenly understood. Now it all made sense—Cloud Village had already withdrawn their forces. If those meteors had actually hit the village, the entire Cloud Village would have been destroyed.
In reality, Sakura had already held back significantly. The meteors she had pulled down were relatively small ones. If she had summoned something as massive as the meteorites used by Madara Uchiha during the Fourth Great Ninja War, not a single Cloud ninja here would have survived.
Still, Sakura never intended to kill—only to intimidate. These smaller meteors were perfect for her purpose.
Thinking for a moment, Sakura stretched out her right hand toward where the last meteor had landed, waving slightly. A chunk of ore the size of a basketball flew from the crater straight toward her.
"What is that?" Everyone was confused by Sakura's actions.
"Spacefallen Iron!" Sakura reached out and tapped the metallic ore, its surface gleaming with a metallic sheen. She never expected an extra bonus this time—it was quite a pleasant surprise.
"So this is the Spacefallen Iron everyone talks about? It's apparently very popular in the Land of Iron!" Kakashi examined it and remarked, "But this piece still needs repeated forging to extract its essence before being added into a weapon. Right now, it contains far too many impurities."
Kakashi's father, Sakumo Hatake, was legendary in the shinobi world for his White Fang techniques, striking terror into countless enemies. He was also among the rare few ninja that rival villages had issued standing orders to avoid at all costs—anyone who encountered the Legend of the White Fang was allowed to abandon their mission without punishment.
Though Kakashi was now known for his Ninjutsu, his early training under his father gave him a basic understanding of materials that enhanced weapon quality.
"I get it, but I don't know how to forge metal!" Sakura thought for a moment, then snapped her fingers decisively. Using the Reality Stone, she summoned a flame that engulfed the Spacefallen Iron, making it float beside her while burning fiercely. Strangely, none of the people nearby could feel any heat coming from the flames.
"This prolonged tempering should remove the impurities, right?"
"The Tenga family in Konoha are the largest weapons merchants in the Land of Fire and also Konoha's main weapon supplier. Once you return to the village, you can ask them to craft a weapon using this Spacefallen Iron!"
Shikaku suggested. Spacefallen Iron was an extremely rare and valuable material—artisan blacksmiths who forged ninja artifacts would eagerly accept the chance to work with it, even offering their services for free or paying out of pocket. Creating powerful ninja artifacts was the obsession of every craftsman.
"The Tenga family, huh?"
"Got it!"
